EGX Posted September 4 Posted September 4 After upgrading to 5.9.1 when trying to access a ZWAVE device I got the following error messages. Could not open conf file to read - [./FILES/CONF/INSTENG>OPT] Could not open file - [./FILES/CONF/INSTENG.OPT] All my insteon devices were working after the upgrade but not the ZWAVE. Quote
Techman Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Try removing power from the eisy for about 30 seconds Let me know if that worked Quote
EGX Posted September 4 Author Posted September 4 Tried disconnecting for 1 minute. Did not work. Same error messages. Quote

Guy Lavoie Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Just wondering: which IoX version were you running before 5.9.1? Also, is your eisy using a Zooz dongle or the ZMatter one? Quote
EGX Posted September 5 Author Posted September 5 I was upgrading from firmware 5.8.4 The dongle I am using was purchased from UD Mobil which has two antennae. One is labeled Zwave and the other is labeled Zigbee/Matter. Quote

One is labeled Zwave and the other is labeled Zigbee/Matter. So nothing out of the ordinary. You have the ZMatter dongle. One quick thing you could check is in the Admin Console Configuration screen. Make sure that Z-Wave support is "On", and that it's not showing a button underneath to migrate to ZMatter, which would indicate it's configured to use the Zooz dongle. Quote
Techman Posted September 5 Posted September 5 @EGX What type of device is the Den Closet Light Do you have other Zwave devices in your system, if so are they working Verify that the 2 antennas are correctly installed on the connectors, i.e. red to red Quote
jkmcfadden Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Following as I am also on 5.8.4 with a LOT of Z-Wave devices. Can you add any new Z-Wave devices? If you can, that might indicate just an issue with the upgrade. Can you remove and re-add one of the existing devices? Maybe one not in a bunch of scenes or programs to minimize inconvenience. Just make sure to use the Z-Wave remove and not just the normal delete. Again, this would indicate an issue with the upgrade and not your Z-Wave implementation. Please let us know what you find out. EGX Posted Sunday at 09:11 PM Author Posted Sunday at 09:11 PM I reconnected the Z+ Repeater and the Z+ Light Switch by trying the “Synchronize / New and Deleted” interview option under the Zwave menu. The Kwikset Z+ Smart Lock did not respond to the Synchronize option. After deleting the lock which even though deleted from Admin Console had to be deleted from UD Mobile separately. The problem now is when I run detect new device and press the sync button on the kwikset Z+ lock the Administrative Console Zwave menu says it’s detected but does not add it to the Network. Quote
Techman Posted Sunday at 10:16 PM Posted Sunday at 10:16 PM Put the Kwickset lock into the linking mode then do an Exclude then an Include from your Zwave menu. Sometimes the locks need to be moved closer to the controller Quote
EGX Posted Monday at 09:41 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:41 PM I finally got the Z+ Smart Lock to be added to the Admin Console. Even though it was not showing on the Admin console I chose the delete option and pressed the discover button on the Z+ Smart Lock. The next time I tried the add procedure it added it to the Admin Console. The only problem now is it did not add it to the UD Mobile app. Should I just add it through the UD Mobile app or is there some other procedure to add it to UD Mobile? Quote
Techman Posted Monday at 09:45 PM Posted Monday at 09:45 PM In UD Mobile, click on the Home icon, then in the upper right click on the 3 dots, then click on Synchronize. This will add the lock to UD Mobile Quote
EGX Posted Monday at 09:57 PM Author Posted Monday at 09:57 PM Thank you! It worked. I appreciate all the help. Quote
