Michel Kohanim Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Hello all, Release 2.8.1 Beta is now available. Although this firmware has been tested thoroughly, please note that this is still a beta firmware. For a list of changes, please take a look at this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... =6475#6475 Please note that ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds. Instructions 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99 Only - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip 3. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.1 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.1/admin.jnlp - Java application 8. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates Thanks and with kind regards, Michel Quote
Mark Sanctuary Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Successful upgrade here. Running as expected. Quote
lawr1000 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I had a little trouble with my upgrade but I didn't follow step 7 closely. Clearing the cache and launching the console again the right way and it works nicely. The In-LineLinc Dimmer can now be checked for On percentage in a program (if you let it autodetect when adding the device). I do have a question about the Dual Band 240 Load Controller (2477SA2) support. When I add the device I still only see the Control Part. As I understand the 2477SA2 also has load sense capability with links for both On and Off. I have added with auto-detect and manual selection. Am I missing something? Quote
garybixler Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 All went will. No problems. I tried to relink the EZIO4O v.ff but the i2 did not work. Was hoping to get to the internal timers. v.ff doesn't seam right but there were no version labels on the unit. Thanks Gary Quote
LeeG Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 garybixler Whether I2 works depends on how new the device is. Many of the internal PLMs indicate an I2 engine but do not support the ALDB command. How did you add the EZIO4O, Auto Discovery or explicit Device Type. If you are on a PC and have a PLM connected to the PC you can use the SHN Utility to configure all the EZIOxx options. Lee Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Hello Mike, You are correct! Updated UI is at http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.1 (applet) http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.1/admin.jnlp (application) Already fixed for the next release (UI only issue). With kind regards, Michel Quote
garybixler Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Lee hi I did an Auto Discovery. Maybe will consider an additional PLM for the PC but it's not that pressing at the moment for timer access. Thanks Gary Quote
Brian H Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 My 2.8.1 Beta installed with out a hitch. Quote
k7zpj Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Installation completed with no issues. Everything seems to be running fine. Quote
jkraus Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Notes say that there is now support for ezxx devices. The only one I have is ezx10rf. Any changes or new features for that product? Quote
lawr1000 Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 You mention support for the 2486SWH8. I have one of these devices and had been using it under 2.7.15 and it appeared to work correctly. Can you tell use what has changed? Should I remove it and add it again under 2.8.2? Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Hello all, If your EZX10RF works, then there's nothing new. Support for 2486SWH8: did the Admin Console provide you with the correct model number for this devices or did it say Unsupported Device. Furthermore, did you add this device using brute force (in Admin Console the firmware version is v00) or did you use Auto Discovery or Linking? With kind regards, Michel Quote
danswatman Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Upgrade went fine for me. Is there upcoming ELK support in this series of updates? Thanks, Dan[/b] Quote
Brian H Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 I found the error log is now a separate item. That could be a help in troubleshooting things. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 Hello Dan, We are still working on the ELK solution. I really cannot give you an ETA but it's actively being developed. With kind regards, Michel Quote
lawr1000 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Hello all,Support for 2486SWH8: did the Admin Console provide you with the correct model number for this devices or did it say Unsupported Device. Furthermore, did you add this device using brute force (in Admin Console the firmware version is v00) or did you use Auto Discovery or Linking? The admin console reports the correct model number. I added the device using auto discovery. BTW this device was a 2486SWH6 that I converted to an 8-button. In both configurations it was automatically detected correctly with Auto Discovery. Quote
markgam Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 One thing I noticed is that on the Electricity Tab I see a what appears to be an Optionbox on the lower right portion of the screen with a label of "S" (see image below: Here is a screen shot of my About screen: I also had this same issue with the previous firmware v2.7.15 Quote
guy Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 when I click on Trend (chart) it gives this error and gets stuck with system busy and a busy mouse icon: Exception in thread "Thread-22" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.universaldevices.common.ui.GUISystem.getImageIconFromResource(Ljava/lang/Object;Ljava/lang/String;)Ljavax/swing/ImageIcon; at com.universaldevices.chart.ChartFrame.(Unknown Source) at com.universaldevices.chart.TimeSeriesChart.(Unknown Source) at com.universaldevices.ui.report.ReportGenerator.done(Unknown Source) at com.universaldevices.ui.report.ReportGenerator.access$0(Unknown Source) at com.universaldevices.ui.report.ReportGenerator$1.run(Unknown Source) also cancel on tools -> log dialog doesn't work, it reshows itself and after 2nd cancel, it gives NPE Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted August 16, 2010 Author Posted August 16, 2010 Hi guy, Are you using Linux and if so, what URL are you using? With kind regards, Michel Quote
guy Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Hi guy, Are you using Linux and if so, what URL are you using? With kind regards, Michel I was using local jnlp file Just tried it with http://isy/admin and http://isy/admin.jnlp and see no errors but graph is always blank And now even local file doesn't produce any errors (nor graphs), the only change was the changed submenu, so maybe the resaving jnlp helped somehow. I works but it still warns Could not launch from cache. Will try online mode. [Given JNLP is newer than cached copy! Thanks[/code] Quote
