Friday at 12:01 AM2 days Hi Folks,I just replaced my PLM and I can turn my devices on and off via my universal devices admin console, but my scenes and programs won't work. I tried restoring my PLM several times to no avail. What am I doing wrong? Why would my individual devices work with my new PLM but not the scenes nor programs which also haven't changed?Any ideas? Here's a diagnostic of one of my scenes....Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:40 PM : [GRP-RX ] 02 61 12 13 00 15
----- Bed Time Lights Test Results -----

[Failed] Curly Light Front Entrance (17 32 CC 1)

[Failed] TopStairsKey-Picture (49 EF 8B 1)

[Failed] Dining Vanity Mirror (4F 3A F7 1)

[Failed] LR Floor Lights (57 3C F8 1)

[Failed] TopStairsKey-BedTimeLights (49 EF 8B 4)

[Failed] Pool Pot Lights (12 4A 7F 1)

[Failed] Cast UpLighting (25 CD 12 1)

[Failed] LR Fireplace Light (57 3C D0 1)

[Failed] Crystal Ball (4C D2 32 1)

[Failed] Loft Keypad.BedTime (F 95 D3 4)

----- Bed Time Lights Test Results -----
Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:48 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 00 00 12 CF 13 00Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:48 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.12 CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00)Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:48 PM : [Ext MH ] Unexpected Ack imCmd=62 cmd1=LTOFFRR 0x13Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:49 PM : [INST-TX-I2 ] 02 62 11 96 2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:49 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 11.96.2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7 06 (00)Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:58 PM : [INST-TX-I2 ] 02 62 11 96 2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:58 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 11.96.2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7 06 (00)Thu 04/02/2026 08:58:02 PM : [11 96 2A 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [E201000000FF1F01] *Failed Writing [....000000......]

If there is activity on the powerline (motion sensors, devices activating) or Programs executing on the ISY, the PLM will exit the test. The red communication above looks like an ISY program ran and turned off group 13. It's generally best to disable programs to get consistent results.13 hours ago, NewB said:Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:49 PM : [INST-TX-I2 ] 02 62 11 96 2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:49 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 11.96.2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7 06 (00)Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:58 PM : [INST-TX-I2 ] 02 62 11 96 2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7Thu 04/02/2026 08:57:58 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 11.96.2A 1F 2F 00 00 02 0F FF 08 E2 01 00 00 00 FF 1F 01 B7 06 (00)Thu 04/02/2026 08:58:02 PM : [11 96 2A 1 ] Link 0 : 0FF8 [E201000000FF1F01] *Failed Writing [....000000......]The communication above shows the ISY trying to write link records to the device @11.96.2A. The write operation times out because the device is not responding. This device should be tagged with the green "1011" in the admin console. The device isn't part of the scene that you tested, but if you have other devices with pending writes it indicates they do not have all of their links (scenes). Try resolving the pending writes to see if things resolve.
Friday at 06:07 PM1 day Author Thank all 3 of you both for your help. It is sincerely appreciated!! I fixed 11.96.2a which was a remote link and no longer have that error.I still can't get my scenes to work. I don't think it's my PLM as I can turn on my devices on and off individually but I can't turn the scenes on nor off as a group in my admin console.I've had this system for 16 years and never had a problem when I had to replace my PLM before.Any other suggestions??? I don't want to delete all of my programs and start again as I have over 20 devices. Many thanks,NewBHere's my last "scene test"....Fri 04/03/2026 02:58:14 PM : [GRP-RX ] 02 61 12 13 00 15
----- Bed Time Lights Test Results -----

[Failed] Curly Light Front Entrance (17 32 CC 1)

[Failed] TopStairsKey-Picture (49 EF 8B 1)

[Failed] Dining Vanity Mirror (4F 3A F7 1)

[Failed] LR Floor Lights (57 3C F8 1)

[Failed] TopStairsKey-BedTimeLights (49 EF 8B 4)

[Failed] Pool Pot Lights (12 4A 7F 1)

[Failed] Cast UpLighting (25 CD 12 1)

[Failed] LR Fireplace Light (57 3C D0 1)

[Failed] Crystal Ball (4C D2 32 1)

[Failed] Loft Keypad.BedTime (F 95 D3 4)

----- Bed Time Lights Test Results -----
Fri 04/03/2026 02:58:18 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 00 00 12 CF 13 00Fri 04/03/2026 02:58:18 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.12 CF 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00)
Friday at 06:41 PM1 day @NewB welcome to the UD Forums. A couple of questions just for further information so we might have others chime in to help. What device are you using? You've posted in the ISY994 area so we will assume this is the device, but please confirm. What firmware are you running? Make sure that UI and Firmware match on admin console Help -> About screen. (Please post actual number showing on help/about screen)Have you tried any other troubleshooting other than just replacing the PLM? It sounds like you've done this before so you should be familiar with the process. Are any of the devices battery operated?I would strongly suggest making a backup of your current programs in case you have to start again. On the Programs / Details tab right click on the root folder (probably "My Programs"). Then select the last option "Copy Folder to Clipboard". Make sure you use "COPY". Then paste this as text in a text editor (i.e. Notepad on WindowsPC - DO NOT use a word processing document as you don't want it to auto format any text/code you might paste). Save this text file locally in case you do have to start over you have a text representation of all your programs and if they are enabled or disabled or not. This way you don't have to recreate them or fix them from memory. After you've made a copy of your programs I might suggest making a new scene (similar, but different) to an existing scene. See if those work as expected. If a new scene works with the new PLM then it's possible something is corrupt in the existing scenes with the new PLM. I'm not a big user of scenes so can't tell you other things to check. For other reference and troubleshooting though please open Event Viewer (Tools / Diagnostics / Event Viewer). Then set the level to level 3. Then manually operate a controller for the scene. Then try to change the scene from admin console. Save the log and post here. It might help narrow down devices that aren't responding.

23 hours ago23 hr Author Thank you again to everyone for trying to help. Here's what I did and I'll try to give you as much information as possible for a solution as to why my scenes won't work with my new PLM but the individual devices will work from my admin console.1-I did a factory reset of my new PLM to erase all tables and start from scratch2-I followed the replace PLM instructions provided by Tuchman to see if that would work...(like when it worked fine 3 months ago when my previous PLM (that was only 6 months old) broke).3-After following the instructions and factory reseting the new PLM modem and restore modem (PLM), there was no change.4-When I create a new scene, the new scene does work...which probably means that the old saved scene instructions are not getting to the new PLM...but someone more intelligent that I on this forum can let me know if this is true.I have a ISY994i with a PLM and both firmwares are 4.9.0.With the event viewer this is what I see after I select turn on "Scene Bed Time Lights" with 8 devices attached...Sat 04/04/2026 01:30:29 PM : [INST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 00 00 12 CF 11 00Sat 04/04/2026 01:30:29 PM : [INST-ACK ] 02 62 00.00.12 CF 11 00 06 LTONRR (00)Sat 04/04/2026 01:30:32 PM : [ Time] 13:30:34 0(0)Any ideas?? 21 hours ago21 hr @NewBScenes reside in the PLM and the devices. You could disconnect the ISY and the scenes will still work. It's possible that when you initially restored the new PLM the scene's links got corrupted.Take a scene that isn't working and do a restore device for each device in that scene. If that corrects the problem then you'll have to do it for each scene that isn't working correctly. If that doesn't correct the problem then you'll have to rebuild the scene Edited 21 hours ago21 hr by Techman
18 hours ago18 hr @NewB ,Suffice it to say that things have gotten a bit hosed (technical term). The PLM links table you posted is extremely short (21 entries). The PLM is listed as the controller for all the devices in the ID column. There are no scenes listed. It is possible that the PLM read process was interrupted. Try this a couple of times to see if you get the same result. If so, proceed with the "recovery below". The device table you posted indicates that the "Dining Vanity Mirror" is a Responder to the devices listed in the ID Column. It can't control anything.Recovery:Please verify that your PLM address is 71.18.59. Since your PLM link table is incorrect (after multiple PLM restores), you'll need to perform an ISY restore. LOOK at your backup file sizes. If you have a recent backup that is significantly different in size (from previous), it's suspect. Choose a recent backup that looks consistent. If you get socket errors during the restore (or a backup), do not trust it. Logout of the admin console, clear the cache, log back in and restart the process. When the restore ISY complete correctly, it will reboot the ISY. Log back in, turn off "writes to battery devices", and perform a "Restore Modem". This should re-write the PLM records. After the above completes, re-check your PLM records. If it's still very low (<100) post back and we'll rethink things. It's possible that that the ISY will not re-write the device link tables in step 3 (if it didn't detect a PLM change). The Only way to know for sure is to perform "link table read/compare's" on devices. You can address these individually by running a "device restore", but if there are many, it's may be easier to use the "restore devices" from the file menu.
