sanders2222 Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Does anyone know how to (or if you can) hookup a 'rainfall sensor' to the EZRain device? According to Smarthome's information, the RJ-45 jack on the unit is for sensor control. But, from what I see, the jack only provides the ability to run a Cat5e extension cord to the sprinkler controllers. I posted this question on Smarthome's forum page months ago but have not received any responses. Do I have to abandon my old TORO sensor and use Weatherbug module to determine the rainfall amount?
LeeG Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Use the SimpleHomeNet web site. In the Support/Downloads section, the EZFlora Command Set document shows the RJ45 connections. I suggest getting one of the EZBreakout connectors. Makes connection to anything through the RJ45 jack much easier. I have a pulse water meter hooked to mine. Have not tried the rain sensor but the connection is straight forward and detailed in document for the EZFlora.
