Yup, just installed the update. It's been working reliably, installed on one of my test Polisys. I have two shades that I lower partially during the day, every day, with this. My main (eisy) controller is still using the original Somfy plugin, which works with the URTSII device, for now. One handy feature of the Somfy plugin has is that you can define a travel time parameter (in PG3 configuration and/or as a program command) for each shade, which is the time it takes (in seconds) for a shade for a fully open or close. Then you can send commands to open or close by a certain percentage, which will activate it for the percentage of the time of a full travel. This could be a nice feature to add to the Tahoma plugin.

If

Time is Sunset - 45 minutes

And $s_shade_close_early is not 1

Then

Set 'Somfy Controller / Shade_02_Shade_bedroom' Set Travel Time 20 seconds

Set 'Somfy Controller / Shade_02_Shade_bedroom' Open 15%

$s_Shade_bedroom = -1

Else

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Where did you get your Tahoma, the Somfy website shows every controller as out of stock. I'm currently using the ZRTSI which was discontined a long time ago.

Well if you know me well, I get everything used! Ebay, marketplace...UDI coffee shop 😆 etc. I originally got my URTSII literally for free, and the Tahoma Beecon for a low price.

@sjenkins , did you update your docs to indicate that your plugin workes with both the Tahoma switch and the Beecon?

@Guy Lavoie I did not.

Later tonight

I will put the timer on the todo; doesn’t sound too hard. Good idea.

@Techman , if we can get you a controller we might expand this plugin’s usage by 50% , 🎉

ok without a version bump I added Somfy Beecon compatibility into the readme and the Store description. Gave it a weasel word of "some" as I'm not sure of perfect alignment.

I got mine here. Works great with the plugin, thanks @sjenkins !!

@rlebel

Does the Somfy switch require the smartphone app to set it up if your shades are already configured via the Somfy handheld remote?

What's the (approximate) maximun range between the Switch and the Somfy RTS shades?

Any other comments on the Somfy switch?

Yes, the Switch (or Beecon) needs the TaHoma app to add the shades to the gateway device. You also need the app to generate the unique key that will give local access to the gateway, and that you need to eneter as a parameter when configuring the Somfy plugin.

For your second question, Somfy says "up to 65 feet in optimal conditions", so I'd position the gateway as high and centrally (to your shades) as possible. Mine is on top of a disk cabinet that's near the center of the house. There are also RTS repeaters available.

When you add the shades to the switch will the Somfy (already configured) remote or the ZRTSI be impacted?

Does adding the shades to the switch require pushing the setup button on the Somfy motors?

After configuring the switch can the app be deleted?

Existing shade controllers shouldn't be affected. My URTSII or existing remotes weren't affected. The general idea with RTS is that you push a button on an existing controller or remote, so that the gateway listens to the signal to learn the RTS address of that shade. Somfy remotes learn the same way. Setting up a new shade (ie: with no paired remote yet) is a bit more work because as you say, you need to access a tiny button on the shade itself.

I suppose you could delete the app once you're done, but why? Just keep it on your phone for testing, adding new shades, etc.

@Guy Lavoie

Thanks for the info. I ordered the switch.

The ZRTSI that i'm currently using uses the Zwave 300 chipset which is impacting my Zwave 800 network.

I guess another upside to the switch is I will have access to Zigbee if I ever needc it.

Yes, the Beecon supports RTS and Zigbee, while the Switch does both of those plus a newer protocol called IO

Hah, I'm far from "knowledgable" on this stuff, but google has given me many answers!
