August 29Aug 29 I currently only use Insteon and Zwave devices. I was using the UD Zwave/Zigbee/Matter dongle which supports Zwave 700. Most of my Zwave devices are Zwave 800LR. I bought a Zooz 800LR dongle to replace the UD dongle. Zwave 800 offers greater range, lower power consumption, more memory (512kb vs 256kb), and improved security. Zwave 800 battery operated devices use less current than previous versions, receiver current is reduced up to 600% and transmission current up to 42% 1. Removed power from the eisy2. Swapped out dongles3. Did a Zwave restoreAll went well and my Zwave mesh network is up and running.I also used a right angle USB adapter so the dongle is vertical rather than horizontal which should improve the Zwave signalAmazon.com: Basesailor 90 Degree USB A Male to Female Adapter 4 Pack,USB 3.0 Extender | Up Down & Left Right Angle Type A Connectors,L Shape Converter for CarPlay,Printer,PS5 PS4,Laptops,Chargers,Computer,Mouse,PC : Electronics
August 29Aug 29 Zwave LR is now supported, but you'll need to update IoX to 6.1 2, by enabling the staging repository in eisy-ui and upgrading.
3 hours ago3 hr Techman, have you got any 800LR devices to connect using LR (not mesh) using the 800LR dongle and the EISY? I use mostly Insteon, but I have a detached garage that has a separate power source. So, I thought the 800LR devices might be the answer to connect to the eisy. So, far I've updated the Zmatter dongle to the lastest firmware and updated the IoX to 6.1.2. Then I tried to add a Zooz ZEN77 S2 Dimmer using UD mobile and the QR code, but that gave me the "Long Range not supported, dongle firmware update required. 500" message. So, then I got the Zooz 800LR dongle and loaded it up and tried adding the switch through the QR code and that gave me the same message. Any ideas? Thanks.
