Michel,

I recently purchased a TED 5000 that I'm trying to get to play nicely with my ISY-26 and an Insteon home automation network. Is there anyway you would consider adding a TED 5000 forum to the Third Party Products section so owners of these technologies can easily share tips and troubleshooting information?

Thanks,

Kelly

Maybe an area where users can share their experiences and fixes would be a help.

As it seems the TED5000 does not play well with Insteon or X10

Hello Kelly,

Long time no see. We would've loved to support TED but we have heard too many conflicts with INSTEON and Ethernet issues.

We'll surely support it once these issues are resolved.

With kind regards,

Michel

The TED5000 floods the power lines with messages. Very close to the Insteon Power Line signal frequency. Can cause major problems with Insteon and X10.

Yes the isolated and filtered circuit. Has been mentioned in a few automation web sites. Sounds like a solution.

It is very easy to isolate the TED 5000 from the insteon and x10 signals. You can purchase a in-line filter (circuit breaker wired - $9, plug-in $4) and it isolates the systems from each other. The simplest way is to just add an outlet to the box with the in-line filter on it. More complicated is to use an existing circuit (it must not have any insteon nodes on the circuit).

I have the a full smart home system and TED 5000 in two houses running fine with the filters.
