GregE Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I'm thinking about going with the Venstar thermostat for my lake house. Even though I don't have internet to adjust it on the way down, I think I would like to be able to program it with the ISY. I did have a question. My system is a heat pump with auxilary electric heat. I currently have it running a couple times a day when I am not there and I think that is the problem. I'm thinking when it comes on, the temp difference is so great it is calling for the auxilary heat. When I set it up, I was thinking that would only come on when the heat pump couldn't get enough heat out of the air but now I think I was wrong. So my question is, could a program be written so when I get down there the heat comes on but with it set so as not to call the auxilary heat? Then as the temp starts to rise, the set point also rises so until it reaches say 68 degrees? I have a button on a KPL for when I am away so I could use that to let the system know I am there. I would have to use times too since at night I would want to set the temp back a bit. Thanks
