can't seem to reboot ISY

Featured Replies

So I haven't done any programming or anything for probably over a year (the ISY runs smooth so I don't have to)

but I just bought some more smarthome KPL swl etc... and wanted to incorporate them into scenes.

But now I can't seem to get my programs back up. I tried to reboot but must be forgetting something.

I see no programs on the GUI and none work.

I unplugged the ISY for 30 seconds and plugged it back in.

What is my old brain forgetting?

It's an ISY 26 and when I try to update the version it won't for some reason.

Drew

The ISY-26 cannot be updated with any 2.8.x or 3.1.x image. See the post for the Official 2.8.16 release. Also means the discussion in the other thread about the RemoteLinc and variables does not apply as variables are not available until 3.1.x.

I'm going to try and install the 2.7.15 version.

I realize my ISY 26 is no longer supported and I'll have to upgrade to the ISY 99 but my new KPLs and SWLs still work fine.

Is there something I'm missing out on?

EDIT

I tried updating and it won't work (I have a MAC and i followed the MAC instructions.)

I entered https://192.168.1.100/admin (my isy address number) and it opened a little JAVA window, i typed in admin admin and then it tells me the program wont run)

"Could not open file"

[/code/insteon.img]

and then

Refused program update (ouch, that hurt on a personal level :)

I still have the 2.7.15.zip on my desktop.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I live in Southern Ontario so the time zone difference between myself and phone support is 3 hours. That would put me at work when they're open.

Hi Drew,

Please try http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp and then click on the Add button on ISY finder and then enter the URL for your ISY (i.e. https://192.168.1.100).

The Java certificate for the Admin Console on 26 has expired and thus the system will not allow you to do anything with the local Admin Console.

With kind regards,

Michel

The ISY Finder had it in there. (192.168 etc...)

I added it again and the "U" number for lack of a better term was the same as well.

I still seem to not have any programs or timers.

No red lights are on on the ISY.

(there is the yellow light so I know there's power to it)

I'll try to reboot the PLM tonight when I get home from work.

Are the directrions to reboot the PLM on the site? or the WIKI?

(forgive me, it's been years since I've had any issue with my set up and I forget how to do most of this stuff)

I've rebooted the ISY and reset the PLM.

The console boots up fine (It showed two of my addresses and wouldn't boot, I deleted one and it did fine)

I was able to downgrade to 2.7.15 from 2.7.6 and the update seems good.

But none of the programs will run. I tried making a new one and it wouldn't run either.

Next step?

If the PLM reset was successful all the link records would have been erased. The result would be no device can communicate with the ISY PLM and no Scenes will work.

Suggest running Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table to see if the link records were erased by a reset. If so a Restore Modem (PLM) is required to restore the PLM link information.

I think that has it.

I just tried an existing program and it triggered.

I'll try to write a few tonight sometime.

Thanks for the info.
