ChrisNYC Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Got a new software push today on my Blackberry Bold and now I can't use the web browser to access my isy-99i. I get the following message: "Unable to connect using the current security settings. Please contact your service provider". Before this I had no difficulty accessing my isy-99i with my Blackberry. Anyone run in to this before?
Michel Kohanim Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hi ChrisNYC, If you are using default certificate, you might want to change it to a valid one from http://www.cacert.org with 2048 security settings. This said, I am not entirely certain that this will fix the issue. Does it give you any more feedback? With kind regards, Michel
ChrisNYC Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Thanks Michel. I signed up for an account at cacert.org, but am trying to understand what they mean when they ask for: "Paste your CSR(Certificate Signing Request) below..." Not exactly sure what they want pasted into the blank form. Unfortunately the Blackberry does not give any more info, just the message I mentioned earlier.
Michel Kohanim Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Hi ChrisNYC, I am so very sorry for not giving you the details: 1. Go to https://www.universal-devices.com/ssl/insteon 2. Click on SSL Certificate Management | Create Certificate Request to CA 3. You will see a dialog with some numbers ... this is what you want to put in CACert utility (copy/paste) 4. Once you receive your certificate, then go to SSL Certificate Management | Receive Certificate from CA and Install (copy/paste again) With kind regards, Michel
ChrisNYC Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Hi Michel, I got it now, except I only see options for a 512 0r 1024 certificate. How do I request one for 2048?
Michel Kohanim Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Hello ChrisNYC, You have to upgrade to 3.1.17 to support 2048 bit encryption. With kind regards, Michel
ChrisNYC Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Hi Michel, I tried installing a 1024 certificate and it looks like that did the trick, I can access the isy-99i from my Blackberry Bold again. Thanks for your help. Chris
Michel Kohanim Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Hi Chris, thanks so very much for the update! With kind regards, Michel
