Michel Kohanim Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.2.5 (RC) release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. This is a minor release with the hope that it will become our official release. Know Issues None Things to test: - Variable comparison issues as reported in here - Email and notifications - UDAjax/ELK integration Important Information 1. Important If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one before the upgrade. 2. Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. 3. If you are using the Irrigation Module and are upgrading from releases prior to 3.1.5, you must edit the programs using Irrigation variables and save the programs again. Irrigation module is no longer on promotion 4. Upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly 5. For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables forum. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series ISY 994i Series 3. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 4. Choose the file saved in step 2 5. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 6. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet b. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application c. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.2.5 - applet d. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.2.5/admin.jnlp - Java application Dashboard - not fully supported - http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel Quote
ultrajones Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 I installed this update and found something a bit odd. If I don't have the Elk module, why does the ISY: 1) Query for the zone voltage for all zones even though they are not defined as an "Analog Zone". 2) Query for the temperature of all zones 1-16 even though they are not defined as a "Temperature" zone. The output of these queries is causing issues with other applications connected to my Elk M1XEP module. Regards, Ultrajones Quote
upstatemike Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Update installed OK but tried to install an ApplienceLinc afterwards and had a lot of trouble discovering the module. Then lots of trouble adding it to a scene and had to hit "write updates to device" several times to get it to complete. Tried in several locations so I don't think it is a signal issue. ApplianceLinc sticker says rev 4.6. but forgot to note the firmware before I deleted from the module from ISY in frustration. Quote
LeeG Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 The symptoms are consistent with a communications problem. Move the ApplianceLinc to the PLM plug point and try again. If it fails there run an Event Trace with Level 3 selected and post trace. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted April 29, 2012 Author Posted April 29, 2012 Hello ultrajones, Please do be kind enough to take a screenshot of Help | About and send it to support@universal-devices.com . With kind regards, Michel Quote
upstatemike Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 The symptoms are consistent with a communications problem. Move the ApplianceLinc to the PLM plug point and try again. If it fails there run an Event Trace with Level 3 selected and post trace. I'll give that a try eventually but for now I just dug out an older version ApplianceLinc and used it from the same location with no issues at all. Quote
blueman2 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Upgraded without any issues. Everything appears to operate as before. I do have several 2475D's which were noted to have increased functionality? I am not seeing anything different with them. Mine are v.38, so maybe my firmware was not included (not sure what A1 meant). Quote
LeeG Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 blueman2 The 2475DA1 carries a different cat/subcat value (the number inside the [01.32]. It is not listed on the sales pages yet. When Smarthome lists it as an available item it will have some differentiating feature. Quote
Candide Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Upgraded from 3.2.4 - so far so good. No issues. Quote

I'll give that a try eventually but for now I just dug out an older version ApplianceLinc and used it from the same location with no issues at all. Hi Upstatemike, I had a lot of trouble adding a version 4.6 Appliancelinc to the ISY under ISY V3.2.x . I suspected it was the i2CS changes initially. Later I found that that particular module had a hardware issue wherein its transmitter was very weak. It was only transmitting at a level of 1/4 that of what my PLM puts out. In addition its output would vary from time to time. Initially it was nearly 3 Vp-p and later fell to 1 Vp-p. I could occasionally see its output drop to less than 100 mv p-p. This sort of defect is not easy to identify if you do not have access to test equipment. My point is that my issue was due to a not immediately obvious hardware issue. I returned that module for a replacement last week. Your situation may be totally different but I wanted to relate another person experience with the same rev Insteon hardware. Quote
LeeG Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Has anyone tried the up/down arrows on the I/O Linc Relay Set Options Momentary hold time input field? It displays an initial value of “0†which does not change when using the up/down arrows for the input field. If I type a new value in the input field, say 30, the up/down arrows do change the value. It almost looks like a Java problem but I installed the latest 1.6.0.32_b05 build with the same results. I did clear the Java cache after installing the new Java build. The new Momentary hold time value is saved with the Save button. However, the next time Set Options is invoked the new value is not displayed. A “0†is displayed. This was discussed by another user on an earlier image so this is not 3.2.5 related. Update: the Momentary hold time value not being displayed correctly was resolved by doing a Diagnostics | Query Insteon Engine. This same solution has worked on other devices where configuration data was not being handled correctly. Thanks Michel. Quote
Brian H Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 My original I/OLinc displays 20 and I can set the time and it sticks. Next time it again shows 20 but the 50 I set was still active. My I2CS Beta model shows 0 and I can set it. Next time it again shows 0 but the time did stick. Hoping it is just my beta device as I could not have momentary C work at all. Quote
LeeG Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Decided to make new post as folks don't always back up. The I/O Linc Relay Momentary hold time value not being displayed correctly was resolved by doing a Diagnostics | Query Insteon Engine. This same solution has worked on other devices where configuration data was not being handled correctly. Thanks Michel. Quote
bcall Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I just upgraded from 3.2.4 to 3.2.5 and can no longer communicate with several devices (switchlinc, icon switch, 8 button keypadlinc...). I downgraded and some of the devices started communicating again, but not all. I have had a few devices stop communicating over the last few months (about 3 devices in 3 months). Could this be caused by a fault in the plm? I've restored the plm, restored the ISY, reverted to previous firmware, restored all devices. So far nothing helps. My plm is the original one that came with the ISY (about three years ago) - v.85. Thanks for any help. Quote
Niccolo Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Michel: It keeps failing with the folowing messages displayed: "Upgrade Failed: Failed uploading file (reported written size is invalid)" "Socket Open Failed javasets Socket timeout Exception" Niccolo Quote
Xathros Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Upgraded from 3.2.4 -> 3.2.5 remotely yesterday. First attempt resulted in: "Upgrade Failed: Failed uploading file (reported written size is invalid)" after about 7% on the progress bar. Second attempt using same update file completed without error and I have no issues to report. I believe the failure on the first attempt was due to my crappy cable connection at home. -Xathros. Quote
Niccolo Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Got it loaded after several "fails." I have ELK showing, but when I click on it I get "Elk Rest command failed. Checking Elk status." Nothing further. Niccolo Quote
lawr1000 Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Since upgrading to I have been having trouble adding devices to certain scenes one of the errors I get is the screen capture below. I have rebooted the ISY and cleared the Java cache and so far no luck. Sometimes it seems to continue and the ISY starts writing to the other devices in the scene but the device added never appears. Edit. I deleted the troublesome device and added it back and the problem is gone. This device was added under 3.2.4 (KeypadLinc v.40) Quote
WhiteSax Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Downloaded and installed. No installation issues. Noticed issues with programming LED brightness on 2476D v.40 & 2476S v.3A devices. Reverted back to 3.1.17 and device LEDs again recognize and respond to programming. Otherwise worked well. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Hello bcall, I am so very sorry ... I sent you an email but it was addressed to myself! Please do be kind enough to Right Mouse Click on the device | Query Insteon Engine. Hello lawr1000, Is it only certain devices or do you have communication issues with all. I suspect this is signal/communications related. Hello WhiteSax, Would you please let me know what the problem was exactly? If you ever go back to 3.2.5, please try Right Mouse Click | Query Insteon Engine and retry. With kind regards, Michel Quote
rlebel Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 It would be nice if somewhere we could see the current engine version of all devices, maybe in topology? Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Hello rlebel, that's a great idea! With kind regards, Michel Quote
