HTML Formatting for notification emails

I would like to be able to build tabular reports in my notification emails. Some basic HTML capabilities (Tables, Bold, Text size/color/alignment) in the notification body would be nice.

Have you already tested this with custom notifications? I think we would have to change the MIME-TYPE.

Yes. I coded up a basic table by hand and sent it. It arrives as plain text just as I typed it in- tags and all. I suspect you are correct and I think a check box on the custom notification edit dialog for HTML content would be ideal. That way it can be optional for each custom notification since HTML would be useless for an SMS/MMS but not for an E-Mail. Some people prefer plain-text to HTML formatted mail as well.

Yes, the content type header has to be changed to allow for "text/html". I will add it to our list but I must say that it has a very low priority since this is the first request for this feature.

Thank you for your consideration. I agree there are more important things to be done first but if I didn't ask, it wouldn't get on the list. I'm actually surprised that nobody has asked for this before.
