mrobles Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 I have notifications that have been working fine for a long time. I added a new one and it wont work. I even put it in the same program as one that works but no luck. I updated the mesage on the old one but it still sends the old maessage. The are using the same To. Any ideas. I have the latest firmware and UI 3.3.3.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 Hello mrobles, Are you saying that a new notification program does not work? If so, what happens if you right mouse click on the program and then choose Run Then? If that does not work either, then in all likelihood either the subject or the body are evaluating to empty. With kind regards, Michel
mrobles Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 New notifications using MMS will not work but will with TXT. I use AT&T. They will not work by running the then. I have old MMS that work fine. If I test the MMS connection from the settings page it works. Help! All firmware is up to date. 3.3.3 on both (If that does not work either, then in all likelihood either the subject or the body are evaluating to empty.) What does this mean? The subject and body have text in them. Mike
Xathros Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Mike- evaluates to blank means if you are using only variable in either the subject or body, the value of the variable returns a blank. If you have any static text in both fields, then this is not the problem. It may be an issue with the address to which you are sending or a problem with the SMTP server. Are you getting any errors in your log when you attempt to send these? I was having sporadic problems sending AT&T MMS messages from the ISY until I switched to a Gmail SMTP from my webhosts SMTP. -Xathros
mrobles Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Xathros Thanks for your reply. I only have static text. I don't see any errors. I also have no problem sending mms with the old notifications to the same number. It's with the new notifications that won't work with mms. It doesn't make sense besides something corrupted on the ISY By the way on the config page the test go through fine. Mike
Xathros Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Post the program that is supposed to send the notification. -Xathros
mrobles Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 if Elk Zone 'Front Door' 'Physical Status' is open Then Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Alarm Front Door' Send Notification to 'Mike MMS' content 'Alarm Front Door' Else -no actions- The first one is txt and works the second is mms and does not. But I do have some MMS that work fine. Even if I send it to the mms one that works it will not send. Mike
Xathros Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 OK Nothing wrong in the program then. Can you post a screenshot of the MMS notification definition. Also, are there any errors showing up in your error log? -Xathros
mrobles Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 I dont see errors in the log. The mms definition is Mike MMS and the recipients is mynumber@mms.att.net I did not want to post my phone number on forum. As I stated if I do a test from the Settings/Groups it works. Under Customized content I use the same one for txt and mms. Txt works
Xathros Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 OK. Always a good idea not to post private info. What is the content of the subject and body fields? Is it identical to the TXT version? -Xathros
mrobles Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Its the same one I am using for txt. The reason I want MMS is because the txt one comes from a different number all the time. The mms is the same and I have a custom ring for it
Xathros Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I'm sorry but I'm out of ideas here. I do exactly the same thing you are trying to do with no problems at all other than delayed delivery sometimes. Its for that reason that I moved many of my notifications to Prowl notifications instead of TXT/MMS. -Xathros
mrobles Posted November 12, 2012 Author Posted November 12, 2012 Thanks for you help. It all worked fine untill I installed the Elk add on. Michel any ideas? Mike
Michel Kohanim Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Hi Mike, No, not at all and I can guarantee you that the ELK module does not have anything to do with notifications. Can you try removing one variable at a time (just remove the $) and see when you start getting them? With kind regards, Michel
Xathros Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Michel- IIRC, He said he only had static text in the subject and body of the MMS notification and no errors showing in the error log. I haven't had a failure to send email/txt since 3.2.6. I also have been careful to ensure non blank subject and body fields. -Xathros
mrobles Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Ok, I am not giving up. I took all my messages and put them in one place using the same mms connection. Then I ran the then and only the 1st and 6th sent a message. I dont have variables. They are all just text with a couple words each. Example would be front door open. If Elk Zone 'Front Door' 'Physical Status' is Open Then Send Notification to 'Mike' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Alarm Basement Door' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Alarm Family Slider' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Alarm Front Door' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Deck Motion' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Low Battery' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Mike mms test' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Pool Shed Motion' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Pool Shed Motion2' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Porch' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Shed Motion' Send Notification to 'Mike' content 'Storage Motion' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
mrobles Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 Also, If I send to txt.att.net they all work but if I send to mms.att.net anly some go through. If I send to verizon mms they all go through. ?
Xathros Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Also, If I send to txt.att.net they all work but if I send to mms.att.net anly some go through. If I send to verizon mms they all go through. ? Well then this would seem to indicate a problem with the AT&T mms gateway. -Xathros
jak1975 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 I have the new leak sensor I am trying to establish an email notification for to be notified via my Gmail account. I use a dynamic IP address, ISY is 994i. Entered the right smtp, full gmail address, password and check the TSL box. I am getting the mail server error. What am I doing wrong?
Michel Kohanim Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Hi jack1975, What's the error? With kind regards, Michel
