problems with 99i after upgrade to v3.2.6

I just upgraded to v3.2.6 and have two problems. First I cannot open My Lighting through my DNS. I get the following error:

security library failure.

(Error code: sec_error_library_failure)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.

I can open any other port through my dns and I can open the port inside my LAN by going directly to the address.

Second, although the 99i can operate all of my devices from the My Lighting screen, it has lost contact with my M1Gold. I rebooted the 99i and the M1Gold and I cannot operate the devices from the Elk keypad as I could just before I upgraded.

Help!

I tried to reinstall the previous certificate, but microsoft would not let me open the backup file so I got a new one and finally got firefox to accept it so it is working now. Then I reconfigured the M1 and the 99i and got them talking again, so all is now working. Thanks for the help. Wonder why this happened.

Michel,

As I said in my previous post, I did manage to get the ISY site to open on my desktop, although I still have to jump through hoops to do so with all of the security warnings. I recently tried to do the same on my laptop. I use both IE and Firefox and XP on both computers. I did the security key configuration process in local with both computers but on the laptop, I continue to get the message that IE cannot display the webpage. On the other hand, in Firefox, it opens without all of the hassle about security that I get with both browsers on the desktop.

Since I use the laptop to query the site when I'm traveling, I can still work with this but I wonder if there isn't some way to get rid of all of these issues once and for all on both computers? I'm almost afraid to uninstall and reinstall 3.2.6 after all of this unless that is sure to get it fixed.

Hi johnsmal,

I really do not think the certificate has been installed. Would you please check ISY's certificate in your computer (the one that works) and make sure it's indeed a 1024 bit certificate?

With kind regards,

Michel

Michel,

I had selected a 512 key on the laptop. When I selected a 1024 key, the laptop behaves just like the desktop. That is, I can get into My Lighting with both IE and firefox, but only after I override 3 different security warnings. Permanently making the exception doesn't seem to be permanent.

Hi johnsmal,

Self signed certificates are not trusted by most browsers and thus the need for all the approvals along the way. This said, 512 is definitely NO LONGER secure. Please use at least 1024.

With kind regards,

Michel
