PLM (or ISY) gone south?

I was moving ISY to its permanent location. After plugging in PLM, RX light stays constantly on. Instructions say either PLM or cable is bad. I tried two different cables, same result. I tried factory reset on PLM and ISY. No change.

ISY retained all Scenes, but all programs are gone from memory. I tried to import my programs back, but after saving them, summary page says "not saved" for all of them. Maybe it is an ISY issue and not a PLM?

Does this mean I need to contact SH for replacement PLM?

Hello Mike,

Yes! If RX light is solid on it means that ISY cannot communicate with the PLM and thus in SAFE mode in which case you will not see any of your programs (don't worry, they are still there).

If you have used different wires with the same outcome, then it has to be the PLM.

With kind regards,

Michel

You might check the pins where the cable connects to the PLM. I have read that these can sometimes be bent down and prevent good contact.

Thanks Rand and Jim. There are no stuck pins in my case. I have another PLM on order. If indeed this is a PLM fault, I will exchange the defective unit with SH. It seems like reliability of the setup might be enhanced by having spares always at hand .

It was worth a shot since you moved it. Have you tried a factory reset? Is the LED on?

Thanks again. I just installed new PLM, and all is back on track :)
