Hi,

I recently purchased the ISY994i starter kit with the 2413S plm which included two LampLinc Dimmers(2457D2).

The problem is have is that in the java app (or browser) I have to repeatedly press the on (or off, fast on, etc) to get the lamp to respond.

The feedback however when is manually dim from the lamp linc is works everytime and is instant.

My current setup is the ISY994i with the PLM and two LampLinc dimmer all in the same room on three seperate outlets.

Appreciate any answers

thanks

Tap the PLM Set button 4 times which puts it into RF test mode. Are the LEDs on the LampLincs blinking and if so what color?

When the test is complete tap the PLM Set button one more time to complete the RF test.

If Fast On and Fast Off respond immediately and consistently the LampLincs may have a slow Ramp Rate giving the appearance of no response to On/Off when it is only a very slow response.

They are in RF range of the PLM. That makes the Ramp Rate the next concern. Click on one of the LampLincs in the My Lighting/ISY Lighting tree and see what the Ramp Rate (applied locally) slider indicates. If not set to 0.1 seconds (fastest ramp rate) move the slider to the 0.1 second position. When the progress bar completes try the On and Off commands again.

They were 9min and I moved them to 0.1 but still no luck....do I need to do anything other then move the slider to apply the setting?? when I restarted the java app they were set to 0.1 so I think it is applied

My process so far for setting this was this, please let me know maybe I missed a step:

1) connect the ISY to the PLM (in the diagnostics the PLM status is connected)

2) click on the start linking in the menus

3) add the LampLincs by holding the set button until it (double) beeped ....added both in the same run

4) click finish

Does Fast On and Fast Off work consistently?

If the Ramp Rate (applied locally) was not correct the On Level (applied locally) slider may not be set to 100%. Check that and change it necessary.

When the Ramp Rate (applied locally) slider was moved was a Progress Bar displayed as the changes were written to the LampLinc?

The On level was at 100%

Yes when I changed the ramp slider its began writing it.

It seems it has trouble making the first connection because if I repeatedly press on and off like after couple seconds it starts to quickly turn on and off ....not sure that helps you

Fast On and Fast Off commands are not tied to the Local On Level and Local Ramp Rate values. If they are not reliable there is a comm issue.

Plug one of the LampLincs into the same outlet at the PLM.

Does it work there?

Unfortunately i cant fit them on the same outlet...i tried using an extension cord one while the other was connected to the receptacle directly and the same result.....I also tried connecting both to the same extension cord and still same result :(

What is plugged into the LampLincs?

Run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer at LEVEL 3. Click the Fast On button once, wait 5 seconds, click the On button, wait 5 seconds, click the Fast Off button. Post the event trace.

Also how did the LampLinc respond to each button click?

Thanks for the followup LeeG,

first of all this morning its the success rate is higher specially with MobiLinc and if not clicking twice (quickly) usually gets it on (yesterday was like 10 times), last night was the first time it was left on overnight so it was the first time the "query all" program was run...is that it ?!?

The PLM is not working correctly. Make sure the cable between ISY Port A and the PLM is fully seated (clicks when inserted). Is the 3-4' cable supplied by UDI being used? I suggest unplugging the PLM from the wall for 30 seconds. After plugging the PLM in and waiting a full minute for it to boot up, try the test and trace again. The messages marked in Red are invalid and should not be occurring.

Try a factory reset of the PLM followed by a File | Restore Modem (PLM) to restore the link database.

Is the cable supplied with the ISY being used to connect the ISY to the PLM?
