I am stuck on Version 3.2.6 and am trying to upgrade so I can get Alexa working! I REALLY need to back up - but the backup fails every time. http://grab.by/OgNg When I try and create a backup I get the error message "can't create ZIP" and then an error code that seems to point to address 20.82.9C. I would like to remove this address and try again - but I can't seem to find it to delete it. I did find it in the PLM link table - but it is not attached to a device? http://grab.by/OgNA Is this possible? Am I on the correct path? THANK YOU!

I own an Elk M1 and the ISY994izw. I purchased the Elk module for ISY and I've exported my lighting to the Elk. I recently purchased a home and I'm connecting all my motion sensors and automating my lighting. Initially I was planning to put all the logic in the ISY but I'm now wondering which system is better for triggering the "turn light on" event. Should that rule belong in the Elk or the ISY assuming I want the fastest response time? Both work but I'd like the fastest response time and perhaps I'm bias but it seems having the Elk trigger the light on seems a little faster but I really haven't tested my theory more than a few times.

I wish I knew more about networking. I just bought a new(used) ISY99i as a backup but my router doesn't see it. Is it possible the ISY is set up with a static IP that conflicts with another device. I did a reset with no improvement. This is an ISY99i/IR not a PRO model. Is it possible to do diagnostics with Port B? Is it worth buying a serial/usb adapter? I don't see any info about port B in the manual table of contents. Is the ISY likely fried? The LEDs light up and when I put in new SD card with 3.3.10 zip file it expanded the zip and created folders. But when I go to the expected IP it times out. Where is the ISY finder anyway? I forget. I had a six button keypad (2334-232). Button D on it was the sole member of a "follow scene". It was meant to follow my living room light, controlled by a dimmer 2477D. One program ran when the Living Room Wall Switch 'Status' was "not off" and turned the follow scene on. The other ran when the Living Roomn Wall Switch 'Status' was "off"; it turned the follow scene off. The idea was that that button "D" would track the state of the Living Room Wall Switch even if it was turned on by a scene to which button D did not belong. I have two switchlinc devices. One is a dimmer (2477D) and the other an on/off (2477S). When I push the toggle on one the other switch does the same action. I followed the steps to unlink these two devices but holding down the set button until beeps, then holding it down again until it turns red. Then walk over to the other one and hit the set button until it beeps which it does. I've also factory reset the devices by pulling the set buttons out for 10 seconds... Are there any specific ports that my isy994i needs to connect out to the ISY Portal? I just purchased the portal to try it out with my Amazon Echo. The ISY is added to the portal, but continues to say "Never connected". The ISY Portals page shows "Offline Never Registered". Hopefully it's just a little slow tonight, because there isn't any info I can find that says there are any special ports that it requires outbound (my firewall DOES filter outbound traffic). Looking to upgrade some of my X10 controllers (in this case XPTs) to Insteon. My devices are still mostly X10. In this case 3 circuits on X10 dimmers that I want to set when I push a button on the 2487s. I am also using an older IR to X10 transmitter so I can set the lights from my home theater remote. This is my current program. How do I add a button on the 2487s to trigger? I don't believe that I can use scenes with X10 devices. When I add the 2487s as a controller will the buttons show up and be able to be used in the If, eg If button A is pushed? Hello, I am trying to integrate my Hue hub into the ISY network module. I've followed the online directions from this forum but I'm getting a strange response message and my commands are not working. I've tried using the regular (round) hub and the new (square) homekit hub. Everything works fine if I use Hue api debugger.

I just installed my Elk security system and I've spent some time integrating it with my ISY. I'd like to write a program to handle a particular sequence, but I'm having trouble making it work. Basically, if the alarm trips while armed, I'd like to turn on the downstairs lights and send an email with the violated zone after the entry delay has expired. I am thinking about the best way to use ISY as an alarm clock. The key will be to be able to easily vary and enter the time I want the "wake up" routine to run the next morning. The "wakeup" routine will be just some variation of programming of lights, music, temperature etc. I am looking for any input on the best way to accomplish this. While troubleshooting another issue I happened to take a look at the log under tools. When I opened it up i was surprised to find that every 30sec or so my Elk is generating a "Get Topology" and "Get All Status". Is this normal? My concern is that it is utilizing system resources unnecessarily and slowing down other processes.

I just downgraded my ISY from 5.0.2 to 4.2.36, after doing so I cannot login to the ISY via the administrative console or telnet. I have cleared my java cache and certificates, still nothing. HELP!!

Hi all, I have my isy994i and my elk connected and working fine, but one little problem, I can see only eight zones ( the first 8 ) from 9 to 16 doesn't show in the isy portal,any help would be appreciated. New to ISY994i and I look forward to diving into it once I understand the basics. I do have a couple of questions; 1. In the Administrative console Main Tab/Network/Isy I see all my modules in a red color. Does this mean they are linked to the ISY? I could not find anything about color indicators in programs in the user manual. 2. “Note: Unlike Scenes, Programs require that the ISY be online in order to function.” Does this mean it must be connected to some type of 'home base' constantly via the internet. I have 4 2852-222 Rev 2.3 Leak Sensors on my system, Ver 4.2.30.All report to Admin Console as DON when button on unit is pressed. Activity on powerline is present. I am unable to write a basic event i.e If Leak Sensor # X is switched on, then Insteon device On. Believe this was operational before. Do not require elaborate event, just "If This, Then That". Hi, After getting the ELK-M1 and ISY994i up and running I am ready to take the next step and install a home video surveillance system. I am mainly looking for outdoor cameras and would like the system to integrate with the ISY. Can anyone recommend a system or perhaps some do's and don'ts as I go forward? Thanks! John

And of course UD links to 2412S documentation are dead. Really getting depressed.2412S PLM LED is lit but admin console reports no PLM communication. PLM worked in test environment then I moved it to target environment and it failed. Moved it back to test environment and it failed. Smarthome no longer has 2412S documentation so I don't have troubleshooting info. I tried reset procedure for 2413S on 2412S with no improvement. I may have inadvertently plugged PLM into network instead of PortA but hard to believe that would fry PLM. Is there a troubleshooting guide for 2412S which is not communicating with ISY99i? Thanks.

Pretty disappointed with my HAM options. I live in Vegas on the west side in Summerlin. The default Las Vegas WX station (KLAS) is McCarren Airport. Problem is that our temps (being higher elevation( can be 10 degrees off especially during winter. I found one station near me, but found that it's interval reporting is less than stellar (I have found hours that have gone by before they update, one day being 12 degrees off). Hey folks, I tried looking around, but i can't find anything that sheds some light on my problem in the forums or through experimentation. I have an 8 button KPL in a room. Buttons 2,4,6 are High, Medium, and Low for a fan. Button 8 is off for that fan. This is all programmed and 2,4,6,8 are grouped mutually exclusive. So If you press 4 you get a medium fan and only 4 is lit. All is great when the buttons are manually pushed. i also have a motion sensor in the room, and I turn off the fan after 15 minutes of inactivity. The problem is I cannot reset the buttons programmatically. I cannot set the pushed button as number 8. Any advice?

I am trying to link my Danalock (original lock version) with Z-wave. This is my first Z-wave connection but I get "Error - An error happened when trying to include Z-Wave" from the Danalock app. Has anybody been able to add a Danalock to the ISY994 Z-Wave ?

So how do you get a LampLinc to brighten/dim on a RemoteLinc2 (8 scene configured as 4 on/off controls). Not as a scene, just program control. On and off work fine, I can't get the LampLinc to brighten/dim with a continuous press of the appropriate button. Monitoring in Admin Console shows the mini-remote varying %, but no effect on the lamp. I tried all of the controls, fade up/down, bright/dim, etc.
