In an earlier post, the subject part was listed as one of the parts that needed replacement. I was preparing an order with mouser.com and all the parts were available except for the subject one. Is there a suitable replacement for this part? If not, can you suggest an online location where I can order a couple? Thanks.

I'm interested in 10 blue light pipes for the my SwtihLinc V2. Unfortunately, the current official Insteon management position is to not split the color offerings. Not sure how to sway them, but I think they will make even more money if they do split them as most won't buy them as assorted (I know I won't). Still I find this strange for them. Now I need to find a way to trade I guess as I'm only interested in blue.

I want to use a motion sensor in my upstairs hallway to turn on a light if someone comes out of the bedroom and it is too dark to see. I have a DSC alarm and a BV-500 I was planning on using to do this. However I have no way of telling if it is dark enough to warrant turning the light on in this scenario. If I were to use the insteon motion it says it has the ability to work only when dark which sounds great, but the layout would prove difficult I think. I have bedrooms at opposite ends of the hall and don't see how one sensor could cover it unless maybe it could while pointed straight down. Anybody have experience using the insteon motion pointed straight down…

I've upgraded a number of things on my Windows 10 system including passwords, Java, and ISY to 4.3.26. My Tasker Actions have started failing and I cannot determine why. They seem to hang altogether without returning a completion code. I was using Restask and I've also tried a straight HTTP GET from Tasker. It looks to me like Java is hosed but I can't tell why. I've rebooted my desktop where the ISY instance lives and my phone as well. Any ideas or suggestions on how to further troubleshoot? Warning: I am somewhat knowledgeable but by no means a programmer, keep that in mind please. Thanks much!

I have the green "0101" next to some remotelinc devices, but when I try to write to them the isy communicates with the device but then finishes with no errors but the green 0101 are still there

I'd like to change a six button keypad to an eight button keypad. Is the best way to do it inside the ISY Admin console to just delete it and then add it back? Are there any hazards to watch out for (i.e. like the problem reported when changing RemoteLinc2 number of keys)? Thanks.

Anyone experiencing problems with their alerts? My SMTP settings are configured to use default. I have setup a single recipient to a text address and call the alert within a very simple single condition program. The program action works as the scene is being called correctly however; the alert is not firing. I know that the address is correct and when I use the "test" button a test message is being received. Not sure where to go from here. Attached is a screen shot of the simple program and a screen shot of the configuration, any help is appreciated.

Maybe I'm overcomplicating this very simple program, but looking to see if someone can help me figure out the "responding" choice in the condition choices. I've checked the UDI wiki page (http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page) , and Googling ISY and responding pulls up thousands of results none of which address this as the word responding seems to pop-up in every ISY related post. I haven't done much to my automation in a while, so I'm forgetting some of the basics. Added one closet light this year, and now looking to add a LampLinc Dimmer plug-in module for our Christmas tree lights (really justing using it for on/off, not dimming). On…

I posted earlier in communications issues forum and my questions are quickly morphing into programming questions so I moved here. I have a 24 hour Laundromat with a large water heating boiler that I would like to turn off when not needed. I also have a pump that keeps hot water circulating in 200 feet of uninsulated 1 1/2" copper piping. The problem I'm having is that the actual state of the inline links is sometimes different from what is indicated on the dashboard and the admin console so I end up with a no hot water condition. I think the problem is mostly communication/noise related, but I know next to nothing about programming and want to eliminate the progr…

I stocked up on incandescent bulbs so I could switch after LED technology was FULLY proven to be dimmable and work with Insteon (no flicker or noise injection) and not cost more than house [emoji3] I've got several 60w Cree bulbs in 3 versions and couple 100w and they are good for over 6 months. I want more 100w bulbs but Cree 100w still overly expensive for my logic compared to recent 60w versions. Does anyone have experience with following: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Philips-100W-Equivalent-Soft-White-Household-A19-Dimmable-LED-with-Warm-Glow-Light-Effect-Light-Bulb-4-Pack-459107/206517168 Thanks

Hello all - Newbie post (at least to these forums), please advise if inappropriate to this forum. Objective is to imitate sunrise/sunset for animals. I had setup Houselinc scenes to control the light loads (which were plugged in to 2472D v .40) to a maximum ramp rate of 8 minutes. This was working quite well, but I decided to move to the ISY994i Pro (ZW/IR) as Houselinc software was no longer supported. I have not been able to figure out how to get the OutletLinc to turn the lights on using the slow ramp rate, even though the device is set to a ramp rate of 8 minutes, and in the scene, the Outletlinc is set to 8 minutes. Note - there is no controller for the sce…

Hey everyone, this is going to sound very trivial I'm sure but I'm struggling with the logic around scenes. The programming is coming along because it makes logical sense to me, scenes however are a different story. I have setup a very simple scene "All lights off' with 3 switches as responders. I would like that scene to be called by a program however; when I set the switches at 0% without a controller in the scene itself, all lights go out. I am missing something so simple, just can't figure it out.

Forgive me if this has been asked before - I could not find the answer with a search. I've seen some posts suggesting that you can define a program condition such that you can detect an OFF when the device is already OFF or detect ON when it's already ON. Essentially, detect a slow double tap. The code snippets I've seen look like: if control x is switched off and status x is off then ... Suppose the light is ON and I switch it OFF. The control condition will be true. But, the only way the entire condition can evaluate to false on the first OFF tap is that the device status must not be set to OFF yet. It must still be in its ON state. Does the ISY process…

I feel like this is probably available on most higher end machines but mine are only a few years old so won't be replacing them any time soon. Was wondering if there's any way to monitor them and notify myself when they are done? For the washer I had thought of using a power meter plug in, either Insteon or a Z-Wave one, and when the out goes from whatever to nothing, I know it's done. The dryer though uses that huge I think 240 power adapter and I've never seen any devices that look like that in terms of energy monitors. I don't want this bad enough that I'd do tricks or whatever to make it work, like using sensors or weird wiring to make it work. Just wondering …

I had a problem with my oil burner last year where the igniter died so the furnace wouldn't start. Wife didn't notice problem and one of my loops froze befor I could fix the igniter. What product could I use to monitor copper pipe temperature and set an alarm if it goes below 140 degrees (I think the furnace is set to keep the water temp 160 to 180). Any help appreciated. Thanks, John

Does anyone have the jumper setting information for this early version motion sensor? My understanding is that the jump setting definition changed going from v1.x to 2.x. I have a MS v 1.1. Thanks.

6000 sf home with dozens of switches, have always been played by intermittent sluggish response, multiple attempts required to add a new Insteon device, and other reliability issues. I limp along. I have four 2443 Range Extenders, all v. 1.0, guess I was an early adopter and filters where it seems likely noise could be a problem such as computer etc. power strips. Would the new 2992 Range Extenders have anything to offer? I use no RF devices currently. Mitch

Hello, I am seeing a lot of this: Mon 2015/11/16 11:42:28 PM System -110014 /CONF/149DAC.REC in my error log lately. It is always with this one file. What is this file? I'm thinking it may be a network resource rule but I'm not sure. If it is, is there any way to tell what rule ID it belongs to? Is it safe to delete? Thanks in advance. -Xathros

Hi all, I don't think this thread belongs here but could not find a place for it, so moderator please move it if it needs to be moved! I went to the doctor today an we started to both geek out on each other! We talked about our Home Automation systems. He mentioned that he is using a Crestron Home Automation System. I all my searching over the years, I have never heard of Crestron products? Has anyone heard of this type of system/products. What protocol does it use? My doctor is an new Apple fanboy. That's fine with me. He believes that Apple's entry into the Home Automation, that Apple will eventually take over the market and actually make…

Hello, I've been running my ISY 994i with Insteon, Elk, and multiple wall-mounted iPads running eKeypad. There's quite a bit of switches, sensors, etc that are very specific to my home. I'm getting ready to move and will need to start over from scratch. I was thinking that I would uninstall everything, and then upon installing each/any device at the new house I would factory reset it before linking to ISY. Of course I would need to reset ISY too. Are there any best practices for this whole scenario? How do I reset/default ISY? Will it retain the current firmware? Thanks for any help

I would like to dim some lights and turn others off when ready to watch a movie, I have set up two scenes, one for lights to be dimmed, other for lights to be off. I then wrote a small programs with no "If", but the "then" runs the two scenes. One problem is that I set the device on state to 45% for the lights remaining on. Now, when other schenes turn on these lights, they only turn on the 45% brightness. Can I tell the device in the program what brightness to go to? Watch Movies - [iD 0007][Parent 0001] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set Scene 'Movie Time Dimmer' On Set Scene 'Movie Time Off' Off…
