ISY994

I would like to be able to do voice alerts through my sonos system that's triggered by ISY events. Does anyone know a way to do this? Would I need to get a homeseer setup and connect it to the ISY?

Hey there - New to the whole ISY, trying to get my feet wet in this, but having a bit of a rough time with Motion sensor programming. I want to do something fairly simple. The purpose is to turn on the light if I get up in the middle of the night so I can see where I'm going, then turn the light off. If it's between sunset and sunrise, AND the motion sensor is tripped, AND my lamp is not already on THEN Turn the lamp on for 2 minutes, then turn it off. During the time that the lamp is on, I don't care about more motion events. What would be the best way to accomplish this? I'm doing the following now, but it doesn't quite work 100%. It…

I hope I am posting this in the right area... I've searched, and found no answer. I have three of the 2845-222 hidden sensors on my system. One of them tends to respond twice, when the door is opened. But ONLY about 50% of the time.(usually only a 3-5 second delay). I know this because I have it notify me by text every time it is opened. Has ANYONE else had this problem? Is my sensor wore out? I know the battery is good. Doesn't matter is I use "If status" or "if control" in my program. Same result. Thanks in advance for any help.

HI, I'm looking for a cheap Insteon device preferably or a Z-Wave device that will report outside temperature back to the ISY. Of course it would have to be an outdoor device. I want to be able to adjust the temperature of my Insteon thermostat through a program depending on the outside temperature. Thanks PhanTomiZ

I cannot access the admin console from the Chrome Browser. 1. I have the newest Java just installed today. 2. I have made the JAVA plug-in always running 3. the UDAJAX works but hangs up going to the Admin Console. 4. I can do this perfectly from IE 11.0.9 - No issues at all. Not a big deal but I would like to use chrome!

getting an error message for the ISY default SMTP server when trying to send emails, just a generic communication failed. Is the default SMTP server for the ISY still working, or do I have to use a Gmail or some other SMTP server?

Im very new to the ISY and loving it ! My question is in regards a Aeon Labs z-wave energy monitor I picked up on discount. I had no trouble pairing and it shows current power. So my first question is there a way to update the "current power" without querying the device? And second and most importantly , is there a cheap way to collect data to as to view day, week and monthly usage, ideally broken down into times of day? I've read what i could find in the forums before bothering all of you, all i could figure out was that i would need to buy some sort of additional controller? Long story, but I have lost faith in my power company to allow me to connect my ISY ZS to my Smart Meter. That gives an extra slot in my ISY. I see reasons why zwave would provide a lot of additional choices in sensors, switches and locks. Anybody here using zigbee with your ISY as your powerline, sensor and/or lock solution? If so, what do you think? What are plusses and minuses? Paul

I don't recall if this question or problem has ever been posed by a member so here goes. I have a program that tracks the current, low, high values. Whether it be energy, voltage, humidity, temperature, etc. The system currently sends me a e-mail from 1 to 3 times a day depending on what the application is being monitored etc. I would like to know is there a method where I can have a time stamp with the last change with the above fields? I have a question regarding crosslinking. I have made both devices controllers of a scene which works locally but when I adjust the device via Console or app the corresponding devices doesn't respond correctly.

Hi all, I did try looking to this but can't find the answer I'm looking for. I did study pogramming basics way back in the day, but programming wasn't for me. So I do have a basic undestand of programming concepts. The concept of logic in using 'IF', 'THEN' and 'ELSE'. In an old home (where I was raised) the wiring is very old. The wiring in the kitchen is the newest, but it is more than 60 years old. Currently, a switch there controls the on/hh status of a ceiling fan/light. Pulling the switch reveals a single wire entering the top of the box with one each black and white wires meaning both apparently have to be hot. Is it possible to wire a KPL into this setup? How? Rewiring is not a very realistic option but it could be done. I want to use the KPL to control the llght/fan using a FanLinc.

Hi, I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel. I have am using 15 switches in the kitchen, mudroom, breakfast room area. I would say about 10 were used in the old kitchen & I added 5 new ones for various lighting, 3 ways, 4 ways, etc. So what is the best way to unlink the old scenes & setup new ones? I have about 120 - 150 insteon devices in my home. Every time I add a new device to the "goodbye" scene which has everything in my home, it takes a look time, i tend to get some timeouts (wireless devices I have in set mode, or timeout waiting). Do i just delete my kitchen scenes? Whats the best way to proceed with the ISY 994? Thanks, Rich

I've had KPLs for years, and never realized until now, that if I press and hold the button (.1 button (load) not sure about .b .c etc) that the switch now retains that level the next time I turn it on. I don't want that. My preference is if I manually brighten or dim for some reason, the next time I turn the light on I want it to go back to the level set in the ISY, but it goes back to the last local level setting. Is there a way to disable this? I did not see it in the user manual. I have 2486D's which seem to be superseded by 2334-222.

There is a field that can be set for devices called "notes". Is this described anywhere? Can it be retrieved by command e.g. over the REST interface as part of the configuration, nodes , . . .. It seems it might be a simple place to provide information that can be used by external systems when dealing with the ISY befor eversion 5 becomes fully available (out of alpha/beta) . I could use it right now to provide aliases for the device names to use with the Amazon Echo.

Hi I'm a automation newbie and having trouble with a synchrolink module I installed. The current state is not updated real time on the isy. If I manually query the module I can get the status reliably but for some reason the update frequency is very slow (10's of minutes). Is there something unusual about this module (as my other insteon devices don't show this behavior)? What is the best way to work around this in terms of programs? Thanks!

Suddenly I've noticed the following at the same time... -When I turn on the kitchen light locally using the switchlinc it turns on but nothing happens in the event viewer. When I turn it on in the admin console it shows up in the event viewer. -A button on my keypadlinc doesn't control the Venstar stat like it used to. When I press the stat button on the keypadlinc nothing on the event viewer (level 3) happens. The other button on the keypadlinc to control a lamp works but nothing shows on the event viewer when pressed. -A Remotelinc beside my bed is used to arm and disarm the ELk M1 Gold. I am currently using two Insteon thermostats. Both are controllable from the ISY and report temperature and humidity without any issues. The control state fields never populate for either thermostat therefore making them unusable for programming purposes. I realize that these do not respond to a query command, but these never update when heating or cooling is called for by either the ISY or the thermostats. I would question the thermostat if the issue was limited to only one of the thermostats. I seem remember that these fields populated when I first installed the thermostats. Hi I'm new here and did seach but I didn't find my issue described so I'm hoping someone can help. I just installed 4 recessed lights with sylvainia 9.5 watt led / trim combo fixtures in the cans. To control them, I installed two 2477D insteon switches. The wiring is switch-switch-fixture and the required travelers are there if I ever move and want to replace with regular light switches but the insteon switches are hooked up as per the manual (without the travelers). Has anyone encountered anything such as this recently? About two of our ISY's were hacked and making switches go 100% and the off function to turn the lights off for a second and back on 100%. The thermostat as well they set to 30 degrees F to turn the AC on in the middle of winter... They also were able to get into the Insteon wireless cameras as well it seems. There was a scene named "facepunch.com" as well, not so sure what this site is used for or why it was left in a device name, as well as what looked to be a username "Terminutter" (which is also a scene name) when i did some research into the site. Hi. My brother runs Mobilinc on an Android phone. He cannot connect to my ISY-994i using my wireless LAN. He can still connect using via the Internet, so his credentials are okay. The local IP address is correct, as is the port number (which is not the http:// default of 80, but the http:// port configured on the phone and via the ISY admin console match). I am running firmware v4.2.30 on my ISY. At one time he was able to connect. I advised him to contact the Mobilinc manufacturer, but I thought I'd see if anyone else here had used the Mobilinc software and experienced this problem. If so, how did you solve it? Thanks.
