I have the SynchroLinc installed and this is what I got: Trigger Threshold Watts: 9 Holdoff (Secs) 1.34 Hysteresis (Watts) 5 I wrote two quick programs to send a notification when the pump turns on and when it turns of. The problem is that I got 2 On and 2 Off notifications when the pump started. I don't know the significance of these data and especially hysteresis (what is that!) so I don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting. I posted this as part of my original post but that is so far down that I feared no one would see it.

Home Depot has Sylvania Ultra IQ light bulbs for half price at only $15 each. They are 11W BR30 flood lights that say they are zwave bulbs for their IRIS system. I bought one to see if I could add it to my system. Does anybody have any experience with these or have any information on the process for adding them as a device? I installed it and turned it on and had the ISY search but nothing came up. I put it in a lamp next to the ISY and did the same thing and still nothing. Any help would be appreciated. They are nice bulbs if I can get them to pair with the ISY.

doing some analysis where on a 220V x10 will not work off the ISY but other wise will work. Does the PLM ever fail in this mode where only the X10 function will not work?

Hi Guys; I had this issue before. (Here's the link) http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/16142-kpl-odd-behaviour-after-power-failure/ I've done all the steps outlined and I'm still having no luck. I've upgraded to Yosemite and I've downloaded the Java update. I can remove the KPL from the ISY and rediscover it I then try to restore it. This seems to do nothing. I've gone and airgapped the KPL but no luck getting my programs and scenes back in. I can just start again if need be but I'd like to work through this Thanks, Drew

I have two installations (home & cottage) and up until a few minutes ago I was able to log into the cottage ISY, from my home computer, and then startup the Admin Console. However now when I try, I can still log into the remote ISY but when I try to open the Admin Console I get the message that "Your Java version is out of date." I had already updated my Java version on my home computer to version 8 Update 51 just prior to this problem starting! This is the same version that the message is suggesting that I should update my computer with! I have also confirmed that my computer is in fact running this version of Java! Any thoughts?

Hello, I had a small setup 3 years ago at a residence. Recently, I purchased a 4,000 foot finished (with 2,000 additional feet unfinished) home and have replaced nearly 100 switches and outlets with insteon products. I also have quite a few hidden door links, motion detectors, leak detectors, and have the garage door kits installed on several doors (using the walk through here)... I am trying to create the following programs and need some help: 1) I would like button 8 on my 8 button keypad links to be illuminated if any of the interior lights are on. I would like a button press WHEN the light is illuminated (so an interior light is on, somewhere) to turn off…

I've got thermostats that relay this info to my ISY, but they aren't cheap. I've also got an ELK which has modules available that can do temperature (don't have any), but they aren't cheap either. Prefer a hard-wired solution (I use many ELK alarm sensors for automation tasks because they are reliable) but maybe there is a z-wave device that is cheap and easy to integrate into ISY? (I have zwave module but no zwave stuff). Thanks for any insight.

Yet another PLM took a dump so I ordered another and replaced it. I followed the directions in the WIKI basically: powered down the ISY replaced the modem restored the modem The new plm does not see updates from the devices but can query their status. The devices operate normally and when queried the ISY programs control them as expected. I have tried to restore devices and i have compared their link tables against what the ISY thinks should be there all to no avail. The wireless devices (remote Linc 2 and the Leak Sensors) seem to work correctly. I have also found that if I remove a device and re-add it to the system it works correctly. So the…

I have a new ISY994i installation and I seem to be having problems accessing certain devices at times! I have 6 dual band Switchlinc Dimmers (2477D), 2 LampLincs (B2457D2), 1 Leak Sensor (2852-222) and 1 Outdoor module (2634-222). In terms of electrical set up within the house there are 3 sub-panels off the main panel. I used one of the Lamplincs to bridge the 2 phases. Am I correct in understanding that bridging the 2 phases only has to be done once despite the number of panels? Here is an example of a problem I am having... I linked the ISY and Outdoor Module using a plug within the house and it worked as expected. I then went outside and plugged my landscape li…

This past week end I past by a few garage sales and came upon a gentleman who had some very old Insteon Filter Lincs in a *Sold as is* pile. He indicated none of the devices worked or operated as expected. I inquired to him how much these broken device were being sold as and he indicated they we free so long as I promised not to throw them in a land fill but place them in a recycling bin should they not meet my needs. [emoji4][emoji3] Well I have to tell you I am always up for a challenge and anything gotten for free is worth my time to figure out whats going on! [emoji41] Upon taking the device apart from past memory there isn't a whole lot involved with these thing…

We have few skylights that we motorized using SolarSmart (http://files.crystaliteinc.com/skylights/INFO_solar-smart.pdf) last year, currently they released ECI Remote, which has inputs for relays. (http://solarsmartopener.com/_files/MANUAL_eci-remote.pdf) . Based on my web research I stumbled on EZIO4O which allows you to set up timers. I went ahead purchased the unit and I set up timers using USB PLM. Once competed I tested using their utility and once pressed on you hear a click second later you hear another click so I know the relays are providing contact closure. Then I added EZIO4O to ISY. Now in the ISY when I press on I hear the click but I don’t hear another cli…

While messing around with my KPLs today I mistakenly adjusted the backlight of the buttons. Now I set them back to 0(off)/15(on) and I don't know if it is my imagination or not, but 0 (which is not actually off and provides some glow, which is what I want) seems MUCH dimmer than it was before. I can tell it is illuminated but not enough to be of any real use other than finding the switch. However the 1 setting is far too bright and seems like the switch is activated. Has anyone else experience that the normal off backlight on an as shipped KPL is different than any value you can set from the ISY?

I have a zwave door lock that seems to not be 100% reliable. I have 2 repeaters and am still working on communication but I want to make it more robust. Right now I have a program that says if the door is closed (sensor) and the door is unlocked then lock it. I'm concerned sometimes the comm might fail. What is the most elegant way to make sure the door is locked. Create an infinite loop between 2 programs that will check the status and lock if the conditions are met? Will that even work? Is this detrimental to isy/network performance? Better approach?

When I program my 4-scene mini remote to a switch, the behavior is not the same as physically flipping the switch. The switch I want to flip is a controller for a scene - but the remote triggers it as a responder only (does not activate the rest of the scene). Any solution to this?

I have a KPL with 4 buttons that control scenes: Each scene is: Button as controller Lights in corresponding room as responders So Button A controls Room 1, B controls 2, etc. Everything works fine. I have a 5th button 'All Lights OFF' which is toggle off, so pressing it always turn all my lights off, but the LEDs of the individual buttons don't turn off. I used the button as the Controller and the all the lights in the 4 rooms as Responders. How can I make the LED of the individual buttons turn off along with the lights? Thanks for the help. RV

I got some water link sensors (the 2852-222) at Wal-Mart for half off. Of course, the instructions assume you have the hub and not the ISY. I manually added it (linked it I should say), but it shows up 3 times in the "network" section of the admin console. But I have no idea which one of the 3 is what. Supposedly it *should* add 3, but I can't tell which one is supposed to be used for what, (I did see the stick link on how to program it, but I think I need to know which node or whatever I have to select for things to work properly http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/11566-leak-sensors-a-suggested-complete-program-package/ Or not? Thank you

I understand and/or logic usually very well and use it often in excel/JMP but the ISY implementation is confusing. What i want to do is if a certain button is pressed(so on/off) AND it is nighttime, I want to do one set of actions (THEN). If the button is pressed and it is NOT nighttime, do the ELSE However my logic implemented below executes the ELSE at both the beginning and end of the window I specify, even when the button isn't pressed. How do I properly implement the logic I want?

I am attempting to control a keypad button's LED through Isy. I have setup a scene containing only the keypad button as a responder (see attached screen clip). However, when I turn this scene "off" from either the Isy Console or an Isy program the button's LED remians on. All of the buttons on this keypad are set to "Toggle" mode. The program is as follows: Turn FR Lights Off Button Off - [ID 0003][Parent 0001] If Control 'Keypads / Kpd-Kitchen / Kpd-Kitchen - D' is switched On Then Wait 3 seconds Set Scene 'Scenes / SCN: Kpd-Kitchen Btn D' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Any suggestions at what I am…

I have a simple KPL home button that turns on 3 or 4 specific lights using a scene. The problem is as soon as I start using the individual light controls to change those lights, the button status gets out of sync because obviously the whole scene is no longer on or off. Basically as soon as any of the individual lights are controlled, I want the home indicator on the KPL to go back out. What is the best way to handle this? Should I make it programs instead so I can control the KPL light as a scene separately from controlling the lights that are activated when I press the button? Is there anyway to accomplish this with scenes instead?

Has anyone ever experienced a security issue related to ordering of their rules? For example, if I have 2 programs and there's some kind of connection between them, say, thru a variable, and if the triggering conditions are set up in such a way that the 2 programs execute non-deterministically with respect to each other, certain unintended effects might occur, such as opening of a door automatically when a light bulb was turned off. Has anyone experienced this? If so, could you explain? -Earlence

I am fairly new to ISY and am not sure why I am having this problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.I have a garagelinc kit installed that has been functioning flawlessly for 3+ years. I have an ISY994i PRO on firmware 4.3.6. Recently the sensor status is randomly reporting incorrectly. Doesn't happen often but it did alert me last night at 3AM that my garage door was now open. Didn't notice the alert until around 5:50AM, when I checked my phone. Got my heart rate up a bit until I checked the camera in the garage and saw it was still closed. I refreshed the sensor and then it reported correctly again. This is not happening all of the time. The status …

I'm new to the forum and new to ISY programming. I could use some suggestions on getting started with my home automation project using my ISY994i and Insteon/X10 devices. I've started with what I considered a simple task. I want to automatically turn on the lights in my basement stairwell when going up or down the stairs, and then have them turn off when no one's using the stairs. I put an Insteon Open/Close sensor on the door at the top of the stairs and an Insteon wireless motion sensor at the bottom of the stairs (no door there). I've been able to program the "lights on" functionality such that opening the door at the top or starting up the stairs at the bot…
