ISY994

The light in my bedroom (60 watt incandescent) started flickering (seems to dim or go out momentarily) ever once in awhile, more often after it has bee on for a while. No other light on this circuit does this this and it does not seem related to any other device turning on or off. There is no insteon activity when this occurs. My question is could it be my insteon switch? (2477D dual band switchlinc dimmer v.38) Thank you

Is there a such thing? Or just make a scene with everything in it that you want to turn on?

Recently purchased the climate module and trying to understand how to use temp in a program. Got this simple one to turn on a pond heater when the temp falls below freezing: If Module 'Climate' Temperature <= 32 °F Then Set Scene 'House / Garage / Scene.WaterFeature' On Else Set Scene 'House / Garage / Scene.WaterFeature' Off I see the temp in the climate module is less then 32deg, but nothing seems to happen. I guessed this was because there was no "event" that was testing the temp, so I added a schedule line that looks like this: If From 12:00:00AM To 11:59:59PM (same day) And Module 'Climate' Temperature…

I know that you can control the on & ramp levels of devices in a scene, eg. Using a Program to adjust On level/Ramp Rates for a Scene but is there a way to program the ISY994 to schedule the ON level of a SwitchLinc 2476D Dimmer switch itself and not a scene? I also tried creating a scene with only that switch & setting a schedule to adjust the ON level but it didn't appear to work (can a controller also be a responder in a scene?) For example, I'd like to make the ON level of my bathroom light set to 30% when it's 11pm-6am, and 100% otherwise. thanks

Since a picture speaks a 1000 words, and I obviously cannot get this properly through my head. I have a 6 button KPL that button B toggles the stairs light and I always want it to show the current status of the stairs light so the wifey does not need to press it two, three times to get the lights to come on or off. I have that KPL button as a responder to the scene that controls that stairs light (a 2 wire switchlinc kit).

I have been migrating my notifications from Elk over to the ISY. Everything for the most part is working great. One item I can't seem to figure out is why I am not able to actually send an email to my cell number@mms.att.net. It works fine to @txt.att.net. Using my email client, I can send just fine to the mms address. The reason I want to use mms.att.net is to get rid of the annoying sequential numbers that show up on text messages to @txt.att.net. If I use MMS, the messages show up as my email address which I can then assign different ring tones to. I can't seem to find where I have anything wrong. Can I not use these two devices together. I keep getting a safe mode error upon login. What should I do?

I have the ISY994i, and lots of Insteon devices. I have some kind of complex ideas I want to impliment. But while wiring it all up is easy (I'm an Electrician) programming is not a strong suit. Is there anyone I could hire to write the programming for me? Or is there a more point and click way to program this thing? Thanks

I have an 8-button KPL in the kitchen. The "Main on/off" button controls the kitchen lights. I have a scene on that same KPL on button "D" which controls other lights, along with the kitchen lights. When activated, this scene will dim several lights, including the kitchen lights to 45%, while we watch TV in the adjoining room. When my wife wants to enter the kitchen, she wants the kitchen lights to be on full brightness. When she's done in the kitchen and we're still watching TV, she wants to have the lights dim back to 45% (for example, KPL "D" is still ON and that dimmed-lights scene is still active). I'm trying to control an appliancelinc (2456S3) remotely turning on a water circ pump from my kitchen with a Keypadlinc(2468D-6 button -scene A), and also turn it on from my master bath with a Switchlinc Dimmer (2477D). I can get the appliancelinc to turn on the appliancelinc (and thereby the pump) from both switches. I can't get it to turn off, either from the switches or from asking it to wait 15 min and then turn off. My preference is to have the pump turn on with a switch and then turn off after 15 min from either location. Hi, I was curious, my alarm system gives me the option of getting email notifications when certain things open or close. For example, in the entry way, there is a motion sensor, I can set it to send an email to an address with pretty much any sort of text. It might be interesting that if the motion sensor goes off & sends an email to ISY@richtj99 with a subject of entry, that the ISY could turn on the entry light if its after 10pm. So, can this be done? I was looking & only seem to see email settings for going out. Thanks, Rich

Is the Touchlinc compatible with the ISY 994i

I am using my ISY99i v3.2.6 with SmartHome Insteon. Love it! My ISY99i is fully established on the internet and I am able to use it from my smartphone. About 1 week ago I set up notifications and they worked until yesterday. When I set up Emails/Notifications, Settings/Groups, I checked the box in SMTP Settings to "Use Default." Worked fine but now quit sending. Also the "Test" feature no longer works. Tried establishing a new group also but still not working. Any thoughts what I am doing wrong or not doing? What changed? Could it be because I'm using the "Use Default" setting? Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is possible, but presently i have a light as part of a vacation program with 3 other lights. The program is activated via a KPL button. The lamp is plugged into a dual band receptacle. As it now stands i have the outletlinc active whenever the KPL is not pressed for vacation, so it can be used normally via the lamp on/ off switch. When i want to use it as part of the vacation program, i have to go downstairs, turn the lamp on, and press the kpl button to activate the vacation program. The light is then on, and won't shut off until the next off command later in the evening. Is it possible to have the lamp shutoff when the kpl is pushed and then turn o…

Hi, I've just moved from using programs to scenes for motion detection, believing that I could achieve what I want with a scene, but this doesn't seem to be true. Here's the issue: If I go to the scene in the admin console, there is an on-level setting for BOTH the motion detector & the light. I assumed that if i set the on-level on the light to the desired value, that is what would happen when the motion detector is triggered. This is not true. It is the on-level for the motion detector that is used. This might not be a problem, except there is no way to set the on-level to anything but 0% or 100% in a program. I've created two groups for notifications - one to send me an text message and the other to send me an email message. The recipient for my text message is: 9492306096@vtext.com and for my email message is john@avacap.com. And, I've hit "save". But, when I hit "test", neither works. They don't work in programs either. I'm sure I'm doing something stupid but I can't figure out what it is. Help! I'm embarrassed to say how many hours I have spent trying to figure this out.

Hey guys! I'm wanting to put my router, modem, ISY, & PLM on a UPS. I'm wanting to do this so my Elk will send me notifications through the ISY when the power goes out. I know UPSs can cause communication problems so I was wondering if you guys can make a suggestion for a UPS for this application? Thanks!

I have tried to link my new RemoteLink 2, model 2444a2, 4 scene to my ISY v3.3.7 I fully charged the battery, put in the ISY in linking mode through the menu RemoteLink, 4 scene. The first time I did it, the bar graph came up, disappeared but couldn’t find the RemoteLink on the menu. I have done most everything I can think of, rebooted both the ISY and RemoteLink, tried both with the set button on and off, set it close to a Insteon Duel Band object. What I’m I missing? About a week ago one of my motion sensor's low battery indicator came on. In the past I've seen them happen then clear themselves only to have the device stop working about a month later and not really knowing what happened. This time I was watching more closely. I have a button on my keypad linc toggle my garage door open and closed. But it only acts like a toggle switch, and the light on the keypad linc could be on/off and not follow the state of the garage door. When the door is open, I would like to have the keypad button on. When the door is closed, I would like to have the keypad button off.

My whole home is all hydronic radiant heat and I'm looking to add control to my ISY. Can anyone recommend a thermostat? Because it's radiant, and not baseboard or forced air, the thermostats utilize a floor sensor in addition to a room temperature sensor. I've been looking for a while and waiting for something to come to market, but haven't found anything yet that will definitely work with my ISY. The closest I've seen is tekmars interface, which initially intrigued me since I already have some of their thermostats, but it doesn't work with the particular models I have, though I would consider changing them out. I have an ISY with the Elk module. We use Honeywell key fobs for arm, disarm, panic and lighting. I currently have the key fobs programmed to toggle our "arrive" scene and associated programs on and off. Problem is, the key fob can't know the current state of the lighting, so it can take a double press to turn the scene and programs on or off. How could I program the system so that if the scene and programs are on, a single key fob press would toggle the current state off and vice-versa?

I see the ISY994 now supports the zigbee protocol. Are there some roll up shades that I should now be able to purchase and control with the 994? Thanks Dave
