Setting up a new ISY. Purchased and install the ISY Portal option. Enabled on ISY. Cut and pasted the URL into the ISY Launcher. When I try to connect and log in using my Portal credentials it gives me a socket timeout error. Ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Paul

Actually the Zwave version I want is out of stock there as well.

Anyone know if there is a shortage? Smarthome is out of stock on all versions and amazon is quoting long delivery times. Paul

Don't mind answering these questions but really looking for some pointers on the electronics/ gate control system. BTW I am an EE so I do not a bit about infrastructure issues. Just looking for a reliable, affordable system. The entire system and the gates are broken and we are planning a complete replacement. Currently a single gate for entry and a single gate for exit. Some garage door style openers for residents and a key pad with a phone dialer. Gates are broken along with actuators. Pavement presence sensors are broken and the electronics have been stuck by lightning. In addition the gates are being relocated about 100 ft so everything is being replaced. We want to replace with double gates on exit and entry to reduce stress on hinges and actuators. Need some kind of actuator for residents. Will not be installing an intercom to homes. Need some kind of phone app.

Hi, I'm involved in helping our small (9 homes) gated community replace our gates and gate electronics. Anyone have any experience in this area? I am hoping we can find something that incorporates a Web App with a Video feed and can put time of day/week limits on access codes. Any suggestions or pointers are appreciated. Paul

I've got 3 ISY's in 3 locations. I was using mobilinc which supports multiple accounts, but not very conveniently. Now I just use google home and ISY portal. I have 3 google accounts, one dedicated to each home and have invited all family members to join them all, including myself, using their usual google accounts. Very easy to switch between homes and control most of what I need.

Do they have the same FCCID or part number on the bulb? I have some really old CREE bulbs that work well down to 1% with no noise.

I wish somewhere there was a list of bulbs etc that work and/or don't work with insteon dimmers/swtiches.

I thought the same thing and installed several of the outlets for the same reason. Trouble is that several of the LED string my wife bought don't seem to turn off properly and flash on and off instead. Ended up plugging some old mechanical timers into the unswitched side of receptacle..

I used all the same rooms that had been using with Mobilinc, so they all already existed. None of the devices ended up in a room defined be the ISY Portal. I am having to go through manually and assign each one - the big issue that I thought would be fixed when I changed from Mobilinc.

ISY room naming is not used by Mobilinc. I understood it was used by ISY Portal and was the reason for including it in the portal. Only the name and GH Type seems to be getting set suing the portal info.

No room info showed up even though I assigned it in the Portal. Just the names. Had to assign all the room info within google home.

Hi, Purchased the ISY Portal when my Mobilinc Connect subscription ended. May reason for change was that ISY portal appeared to manage Room Information. Got Google Home connected and none of the room info arrived. WTF? Tried pushing spokens from the ISY portal and a google home "Update All Devices" to no avail. The UDI documentation is clearly out of date as the Google Home screen shots show no resemblance to the current Google Home implementation. Simple question: How do I get the room info from ISY portal transferred into google home? Paul PS Am I the only one that finds UDI web sites and the ISY portal, especially info regarding accounts, confusing and hard to use?

Actually it doesn't happen when anything is being switched. I leave and come back a few days later and the breaker has tripped. Have checked for heat and for arcing, but can't find any evidence.

Actually the relevant concept Larry was discussing is a called a ground loop. BTW I've never heard of impedance being measured in feet. Usually it's ohms.
