    Best Doorbell?

I fully agree! I have a z-wave door bell from Aeotec. When the porch camera triggers it sets a program to query the door bell and if On, triggers a push notification and flashes the light in the garage so I don't miss anyone. I also have some PiCamMonitors around the house that show the porch when someone is there. No audio but that's just fine with me.
  2. Yes. In a program you have a Change RGB or Change RGBW option that gives you access to all values. I don't see why you couldn't ramp using variables in a program. I almost never see my lighting change, it sets when I come home or leave and after I'm asleep.
  3. There is no ramp rate with the fibaro either. Led lights generally don't ramp from 0%, they require a certain voltage to start up. The best led lamps I have are the Lifx brand, those do have a ramp rate setting. Lifx has something called Z Led strip, haven't tried it and won't because a ramp rate isn't worth the cost.
  4. I use Polyglot with MagicHome. In a scene with Ledenet wifi controllers you set the rgbw levels as you would any other rgbw controller. There is no ramp rate with these. I also have a fibaro that has r g b and w settings all separated. Setting the levels for the fibaro are quite the pain as I don't have an app to set the color first. With the Magic Home app on iPhone I can set strip or bulb levels and the go to ISY and see the values and set my rgbw levels in the scene.
  5. There is not one for NodeLink just NodeServer https://polyglot.universal-devices.com/
  6. I do that with a bathroom fan so it doesn't run forever: Bath Fan - [ID 008A][Parent 0062] If 'Rooms / Kitchen / Kitchen BathRoom Fan' is switched On Then Wait 3 minutes Set 'Rooms / Kitchen / Kitchen BathRoom Fan' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  7. Just tried to discover, success. Probably just a temporary Echo thing.
  8. There is a nodeserver being worked on to use a Raspberry pi with an inexpensive transmitter to control your standard radio add on remote control. I'm not certain when it will be ready for release but it appears to be operational.
  9. You could use the Presence-Poly to ping google.com or any other .com that is reliable.
  10. I've had good luck with ALED strips from the amazon. I at least try to use strips from the same order in a room just incase. They are all probably made by the same manufacturer and sold under different brand names.
  11. I use something like this. The distance the top of the crown is below the ceiling makes a big difference in the amount of light that paints the ceiling. You should do a bit of experimenting.
  12. My experience with this is that the self adhesive backing does not hold long. You should have a triangular piece behind the crown mold with a slot routed into it to hold the led strip.
  13. These are pretty slick. I run these off the controller too. I don't use their remote or controller.
  14. My bad, Ledenet Smart Wifi Controller. You will need a power supply, 12 or 24 vdc. I run 2 - 5 meter strips on a single 12v 2amp wall wart.
  15. Fibaro makes a z-wave controller that would do the trick. LEDNET makes some that are wifi and can be controlled with MagicHome Polyglot v2 Nodeserver. I have both and prefer the LEDNET because of price and better overall control.
  16. I've had to delete then re-make a couple of routines or change the action order to get a couple to work. All of mine work now.
  17. It could be the way you said it, she is a girl.
  18. Yes, the alert module is supported in v5. I have 2 that will start to beep if a door is open after a certain time or when a certain security level is set.
  19. I have both. It depends on the application which brand I use. I prefer Insteon overall over any z-wave but I haven't upgraded to the newest z-wave and that might change my opinion if I can get the same feedback from the GE switches as I do from the Insteon. I have one right next to the other in a couple of locations and other than the led positions I don't notice any difference in quality or feel.
  20. It's gone, but I remember there was an error reading the node slot list and something about it trying to install in a prohibited node /ns/0. I will be setting up another one tomorrow or Sunday and if it happens again I will at least get a screen shot.
  21. Not sure why but Nodelink installed itself over or into a used node slot. I got it all sorted out. Forced it into the node I wanted and then uploaded the profile.zip from the polyglot and everything is as it should be.
  22. @Thanatar Thank you! Good thread and all the info I need to get going.
  23. I think I'd like to have a loud rack of a shotgun and a raspy voice saying "Get outta here before I call the cops", don't think Alexa can pull that off. I get foot traffic down the alley late at night a few times a year and sometimes they ignore the siren and light coming on while they peer into my vehicle. I do usually get nice video that my local PD really appreciates.
  24. I would be interested in pushing an mp3 file to a Yamaha MusicCast speaker using ISY as either a notification or part of a security scheme to scare off a prowler. I found an API but it's rather old. Surely there is a way to do something with a network resource. Any ideas?
