Did you buy the Polisy and which one?
Names of variables is one thing. I'm hopeful for dynamic strings for device values. Being able to send a string to a node for the value and it display. Edit: I should say being able to easily do this without having to static define in the profile or hacking it to update/upload a new profile on changes.

Time to go version 5?
Do it!!! Do it!!! ... Betcha wanna do it..

Did you buy the Polisy and which one?
Think of things like media management or players like Sonos. Having strings to manipulate for playlists. Or having strings to manipulate for things like Geofencing and having dynamic names of locations update based on current location of the person

Did you buy the Polisy and which one?
I really want "string" data types to be supported If it's web based images and other fancy stuff would be nice too, but strings would make so many things much easier from a development view.

Whole home surge protection recommendations
My utility company started offering a whole home surge + surge insurance program for something like $12 a month. It covers $10K in damage and I've already had to replace a server due to surges from my bad power so I went for it. They installed the surge protector and everything. So check if your utility company offers any programs or deals. Otherwise it can be costly upfront for the surge + install. This is not the cheapest long term I know but I'm not going to cry about $12 a month.

ISYand Polyglot newbe
I'll send you the link to the Raspberry Pi image I've been working on. It's functional but doesn't have ALL THE GOODIES I want to include in it... not yet... but it is a base rPi Buster image with Polyglot pre-installed.

Problem saving a Motion-Sensor triggered Alexa Routine
Issues are being reported across several platforms for Alexa routines. Reports from Hubitat and HomeSeer users that I've seen so far.

REST interface can be slow
Of the 16 vars being set are they all valid? Possibly an invalid variable set is hanging things until it times out?
-
REST interface can be slow
Just thought of this. Where's the majority of the slowness? When setting a var? That should be super fast. Or is it doing a query for a lot of info and then you process on the backend? If you're looking to pull a lot of state info from ISY you may want to use the websocket or a direct socket for getting data real time.

REST interface can be slow
I use the REST interface for setting things between systems as well and I've not noticed. What FW version are you? How many devices? Insteon, Z-Wave etc?

Device group?
Although not Insteon you can get UPB ELV dimmers.... http://www.pcslighting.com/pulseworx/products/load-controls/dimmers-switches/ws1e

Device group?
It falls on deaf ears....

Device group?
There's no difference in rational behind the PLM or Z-Wave/ZigBee controller. Quality of the PLM components has been an issue and the same issues has occurred through many vendors of Z-Wave controllers and now ZigBee. They have nothing beyond the horizon. Z-Wave is still the slowest of the protocols and locked into RF frequencies based on world region. This RF lock-in gave rise to ZigBee being on the 2.4Ghz (wifi) spectrum to be a worldwide success and problem. The origin of ZigBee are from commercial applications for sensors and yes ZigBee kicks A$$ for sensors and the speed of reporting and battery life. The newer applications for lamps with ZLL is also very good because of the speed of the protocol which is why Hue has made it big and others are following. The "new" ZigBee in power meters and such is actually OLD but is new "news" to people getting involved in "Smart Home" tech. What are they going to do make a "new" switch or dimmer or contact sensor, motion sensor? That does what? they have temp/humidity/lux etc combos... is it going to have a speaker like the Sengeled lamps? And do what? Tell you the light is on? As a Z-Wave Alliance member... well I'm questioning renewing this year. The so called uniformity and innovation doesn't exist in reality only on paper. Why would a device that is "certified" work great on one system and not function well on another if there are standards and uniformity? The purpose of a standard is to define functionality to ensure compatibility and functionality of features across all certified hardware and controllers. This reality does not exist and never has. It all sounds good on paper though! One issue here is a enforcement problem of the standards but it's hard to have thousands of devices in your marketing list if they all were actually functional and would inter-operate correctly. I'm not knocking on ISY but I have certified Z-Wave Plus devices that don't function properly. Who's fault is this? The controller or the device? BOTH are certified... so who's at fault of the problem?

Device group?
Thanks all. I didn't think I was missing the option but I wanted to ask and see. A dynamic grouping or "container" for things is a nice to have but not really a requirement.
-
Device group?
To start I'm not referring to "group devices" functionality of grouping devices in the AC. I'm trying to see if there's a way to create a group of devices like a "scene" but more of a group of controllers. Today in a program I do (pseudo code): If dev1 is switched On or dev2 dev3 dev4 Then turn on deck lights I'm curious if there's any way to create a group of devices like a scene where if any device in that group is switched on then the program will execute? As these are door sensors I don't want them as controllers in a scene that would turn on/off the lights with the doors opening/closing.

Stopping Chromecast playback via a program
I have put together a raspberry pi image that includes Polyglot-v2 pre-installed. This resolves a lot of the difficulty in setting up polyglot. Message me if you would like to test it as it's not yet been blessed by @einstein.42 or @Michel Kohanim for "official" distribution.

Temperature Control Setup
I just discovered this tonight! https://meater.com/ I've contacted them to find out if there's an API... if there is I'm getting one to integrate!
-
Temperature Control Setup
It is a neat gadget. Currently the API (last I checked) only provided status. I've had talks with the FireBoard guys about control options but nothing has happened around that yet. A customer I developed this for uses it a lot for voice announcements of temp status and flashing lights when things are done.... kinda fun

Temperature Control Setup
I have a fireboard and I developed the HomeSeer plugin for it. I was wondering if anyone cared to have it brought to ISY looks like maybe at least one person

Motion Sensor II False Positives
What light sensitivity? Look at the screenshot in the 'Motion' section. That's the sensitivity setting I referred to.

Leak Sensors - A (Suggested) Complete Program Package
May I suggest getting a UPS? I have all of my "critical" gear, network equipment, servers, routers etc etc on UPS.

What is the point of the ISY Finder?
Ok. I've found with running VM software the Launcher/Finder doesn't know what interface to use for the broadcast which results in having no ISY's listed.
-
Motion Sensor II False Positives
There are still lots of questions about the "Sensitivity" setting as to which is more/less sensitive but I'm guessing you might have it too sensitive?
-
What is the point of the ISY Finder?
Are you running any virtualization software on the computer you are launching finder from? VirtualBox, Parallels, VMware etc?

Amazon Alexa successfully turns on a switch, but the switch state in ISY Admin Console does not update
Alexa can't control the Z-Wave switch directly so the process flow of turning on/off always goes through the ISY. The ISY is turning on the switch and therefore "should" know the state.
