They don't work for me either, I just haven't complained. I also have a problem on the Mac opening the Log file in excel, it gets an empty file; I can download the log to text just fine.

This is all very nice and flexible, but wouldn't it make sense to have any new controller added to a scene default to the scene settings? That is probably what you want most of the time and it would avoid confusing newbies. It certainly confused me!

The behavior suggests that there may be an open wire to an analog to digital converter and the T1700 (despite not being able to have a humidity module added) is converting the noisy open signal to a humidity value. If we knew where the open input was we could perhaps put in a jumper to ground and get a consistent zero value. Perhaps I'll take a look at the humidity module in my T1900 and see if I can figure it out.

I now know where all the T-stat insteon traffic is coming from...the humidity sensor, which I don't even have. Is there something we can do about this? I went from a simple query every 15 minutes that worked perfect to a update every minute or two. I wish I never sent back my V1 adapter. I get the same behavior. I assume we'll have to contact Smarthome since the adapter is sending the message -- agree? Yes, which is why my original post was in the Smarthome area - it does not belong in this area.

To get "invited" to load the alpha versions you have to get on UDI's email list.

Michel, using the above link I Removed the email address I had set with the PC. I then Saved and attempted to add an email address. When I clicked on the "n/a" the resulting popup did not have an Add button. I did not clear the Java cache. If you drag the Add/Edit/Remove window out to the right you will see the Add button. However, on my Mac I cannot add addresses either unless.... In the Add/Edit/Remove dialog, after adding the entry and typing in your email (or other) address you MUST hit return. If you click OK before hitting return, the address just appears as "Enter your full email address here@domain.com". You shouldn't HAVE to hit return, but even if the intf requires that, "Enter your full email address here@domain.com" shouldn't be a valid address so it shouldn't let you do this. Tome Thanks Tome, that worked perfectly! I guess UDI has some fine tuning to do on that pop up.

Don't know if it got lost in all the other bugs/issues but I cannot add email addresses at all, ever, with the Mac. I can do it with a PC, although it has some problems.

Michel explained this a number of posts back: they are there so you can say, for example, IF Thermostat Cooling is On .... I'm not sure why that couldn't be just one of the many tests that you could do on the main thermostat status. Edit: Oh, now I understand, you can have put the device in as a controller for a scene so you could, for example, have a light go on when the Thermostat went to Cool mode. Not sure why you would want to do that but it is a capability of the v2.0 thermostats that UDI made accessible to us. I guess having some KPL buttons show you when heat or AC is running might be nice.

I was using the direct URL; using the procedure you suggested worked. Well, was just a suggestion for some word that implies it should not be used. You did not answer this question: are the four thermostat devices in the Main window of the Admin console the correct behavior?
-
Michel, if you are not going to remove Fan mode I suggest you change it so that it does nothing and perhaps rename it to . As it is, what does it do? If it turns the fan to On, what mode does it otherwise leave the thermostat in? You are correct that I do not see the four devices in the Devices page, but they are on the Main page of the Admin console. Are you saying that is correct behavior? When I try to connect to the Admin console remotely (now confirmed on two different PCs) it hangs for a very long time loading the Java app, then asks for login credentials and reports a timeout making the connection in the Java console. Another problem, again Mac gui: the email recipients add does not work at all: when I double click on the n/a I get a popup that has the "Regular email" pull down but the Add button is dimmed.

With 2.7.8 I cannot connect remotely with my PC to the ISY admin console. I can get to the Devices/Programs/etc page okay. Cleared Java cache. From teh same network I can get to the admin page with my Mac. Also from the same location iLinc connects to the ISY fine. It does see the four thermostat devices.
-
Tstat v2.0 with 2.7.8, Mac: removed and added (using New Insteon Device and the address; is that bad?). The device shows up as four devices: Main, Cool Control Heat control and Fan Control. As has been noted above, the Fan "mode" still exists, instead of just the Fan Auto/On setting. Note: the four devices show up in the Admin console Main page; they do not show up on the Devices page.

Any chance it's still coming out today? Which timezone? http://www.earthcam.com/

I'm really looking forward to all these new features. Am I correct (taking a hint from another thread) that 2.7.7/2 is now called 2.7.8? That would be good. I find it quite confusing that AFIK it is impossible to distinguish the various alpha and beta versions that float around, it would be helpful to me if you had a build number in the About box (for both the GUI and the firmware).

Want to control two SOMFY RTS motors. Thinking about two of the dry contact interfaces from SOMFY plus an EZFlora. Good idea? Better ideas?

If you really want to reset the ISY: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... tory_Reset

If you do any work on the thermostat GUI you might see if you can eliminate the Humidity reading when there is no humidity sensor.

Did you try the Mac version? The behavior on the PC is more reasonable, on the Mac I get strange results. I think you will also find that the PC interface does not work quite the way you think. Indeed, in Cool mode I only see the Cool setpoint and in Heat mode I only see the heat and in Auto I see both. However, if I go from Auto to off I still see both Heat and Cool setpoints. So there is no consistency to what setpoints you see in Off mode, it is whatever the last "correct" thing was before you transitioned to Off. I would argue that you should always, regardless of mode, see both setpoints. I might very well want to set one of the setupoints without switching modes, and it appears that the thermosat is perfectly capable of doing that, so why not let me? I also noted that after an initial powerup of the ISY and the thermostat and a query the GUI showed 0 for both setpoints while the thermostat had reasonable values. Thanks!

I agree that I have been confused and confusing! Especially since I have created two threads on related subjects. In this thread you are correct that I meant programming and I look forward to the 2.7.7 fix, thanks.
-
Tim, yes what we determined was that it is a problem with v.36. My guess is that you will not need to reprogram after upgrading to 2.7.7 because the problem is apparently in the GUI rather than the ISY control code.
-
Yes, that is correct. On the PC I see both setpoints. In our other thread you suggest that I should not see both setpoints unless the thermostat is in Auto mode, so perhaps the Mac GUI is "more correct" by that model, however I believe that model is wrong and (if allowed by the thermostat) you should always show both setpoints, on the Mac as you do on the PC. Even on the PC I have seen some odd behavior, which might be do to mode changes. I also see on the PC a VERY long interaction between the ISY and the thermostat (about two minutes). Perhaps we should schedule a session.
-
Well, what appears in my testing is neither heat setpoint nor cool setpoint but just "Setpoint". However, even if what you say is true it would be the wrong GUI. How can I write a program that uses the Heat and Cool setpoints if the GUI changes with the current thermostat mode? The setpoints do not (I hope) become inaccessible from the thermostat depending on the mode, do they?
-
I am not sure why anyone would care, but in 2.7.6 on both my Mac and PC I only get one setpoint to compare, not separate heat and cool setpoints.
-
I have added a new 2441V, v.00. It has some strange behavior. Working from my Mac, if I change the temperature setting (which is currently displayed as "Cool setpoint") nothing seems to happen. Is there something bad about a v.00 2441V? You are welcome to play with the thermostat with the access information I gave you yesterday. Okay, on further investigation the Thermostat behaves okay with a PC in Windows XP but is really strange (like only showing the cool setpoint) in Safari, Snow Leopard.
