I have removed all of my Insteon devices from my house. Can I uncheck the insteion support in my ISY configuration? (Without causing any issues) ISY on Polisy Thanks in advanced, Robert

how to correctly replace z-wave device?
roberthleeii replied to roberthleeii's topic in Z-Wave - Series 700
thank you, I can do that but I am trying to see if UD can automtically replace the old device with the "new" one so i do not have to re do all of the program and naming of the nodes on each device. -
how to correctly replace z-wave device?
roberthleeii replied to roberthleeii's topic in Z-Wave - Series 700
i don't know what update with interview means... i tried to replace one of the "broken" z-wave device by right clicking on the failed device and replace it in the z-wve menu but that did not work. It deleted the device and did not add the new one.... -
How do you correctly replace a z-wave device? I had a little problem with my polisy and it was down for a couple of days. During that time I factory reset some of my zen32 switches so i could turn my lights on and off. Now that my polisy is working again is there a way to replace them so I don't have to start them as new devices

@Michel Kohanim has already started messaging me through my UD support ticket. That is amazing customer service on a Sunday 😁😁

🤷♂️ nope. still seems like no services are actually running 🤔
-
@DennisCThank you for your help, I did change cables. 😢 but not good... I opened a ticket earlier but am trying to get it sorted sooner rather than later incase it takes them a long time to reply. Thanks again.

they don't work.... no services seems to be running.... i don't really know what i am looking for but this is what processes seem to be running on the polisy when I ssh in
-
It is like the Polisy is running but the polygot i no error lights are on. Only the left most light is on and nothing is blinking. Just in case I reconnected the network cable to see if anyting was loose or bad. did not help 😢

@TRI0N Thank you, That address does not work for me. (yes I did put my correct IP in there) Any other ideas?
-
@DennisCThanks, yes, i did try all the steps from both wiki's, IP is the same, i can see it from my router and i can access it from ssh I don't not know how to check if the port has changed....
-
@DennisC Thank you for your reply but it did not work. I followed all the directions above. I still cannot find the the ISY(Polisy). SSH still works so it is running.... one of the final steps in the above instructions is to reboot the polisy and when i did that i noticed that I never heard any beeps. any other suggestions to get things working?
-
small update I was able to ssh in to the polisy and log in using the default admin username and password (not the password I usually use to log in to the dashboard). (first time ever doing that) so at least there is life in the polisy.....

I think I have a problem. I logged into the admin console to look at something and noticed that there was an update available and with out giving much thought clicked the update automatically to 5.5.9.... button. I heard some beeping from the other room where my polisy was and thought all was good. I cleared my java cash, updated it. after a bit I realized that my lights were not working and went to log in and see what was the problem and the polisy is not showing up... there is nothing there. I have not been making any changes to my ISY for months and forget all the little nuances to get things working. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help me.

When I get this board installed and my Polisy updated in November will I be able to add ZigBee devices or will that come with the Matter update at some point in the future? i am assuming this board comes with the antenna to make the radios work?

accessing admin console on Linux?
roberthleeii replied to roberthleeii's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
Thanks! -
I am having trouble launching the admin console on Linux (Kubuntu). I can get the ISY finder working and finding my Polisy. It will launch a web browser so I can get in to my polyglot server but when I try to access the IOP Admin console it never comes up? Any recommendations I am trying to use icedTea to run the .jnlp file and have open jdk 18 installed. I looked for a tutorial on this form to use linux but could not find one. I am fairly new to Linux but plan on using more and more so not being able to access my IOP is really inconvenient. Thanks in advanced, Robert

I agree calling scens by name would be a big help when using the NS. For what it is worth the scenes in the ns are in the same order you created them in the app.

Anyone have a Zen32 switch/scene controller?
roberthleeii replied to xlurkr's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
I like these switches. I am in the process of changing almost all of my switches to these. Setting up the programming on these to work the way you want is more complicated than the insteon switches but I find i like these better for my needs even with the "limitations" everyone mentions. Here is a little extra reading: -
I find that is is a lot quicker and more relabel if you are using state variables instead of querying the status of a device.

Support thread for: ISY on Polisy (IoP) v5.4.4 (May 25, 2022)
roberthleeii replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in IoX Support
I had no idea about any of this. Are there Threads about this that I missed on the forum? I would be very interested to follow this progression and know what future changes and improvements this brings. I am assuming that the the inclusion of Matter will bring native ISY control of the Matter supporting protocols. (still new to all of this, I only have a very general underestimating of all of this) -
I see this same thing. The buttons never trigger a zwave off event, it is always an on event. The ISY does not even register that it can do an off event. The only off status ISY can pull off the controller is from the relay status but it is not accurate. It toggles the "device" on/off status every time any button is pressed?♂️?♂️?♂️?♂️?♂️?♂️. I know there is on/off status in there for each of the buttons because the LEDs on each of the buttons can toggle state, again it just seems invisible to the ISY(or any zwave device).

Are we going to have to completely reset and restart our z-wave network when this update comes around? -

I not see the upgrade BIOS button in my Configuration->System tab: I i enabled the TPM at the bottom, set up a password (and saved a copy ?) but the button did not appear. I am assuming that this is because my BIOS is already up to date ?♂️ but don't want to do this update until I know for sure I am able to do it. -
I have one of these https://www.ebay.com/p/6721445 iris z-wave thermostats and was wondering if it was worth installing and connecting to my ISY? What integrations cab you do with a simple z-wave thermostat like this?
