Support Thread: IoX v5.9.1 (2/10/25)
GJ Software Products replied to Administrator's topic in IoX Support
Followed the instructions, all went well, it does take a bit to update & re-boot, I had to re-boot again. Clear Java cache so you get the updated admin console and that's about it. All seems well so far. -Grant -
ZOOZ ZSE42 v1.0 w/ 700 Chip difficulties
GJ Software Products replied to GJ Software Products's topic in IoX Support
So, I just found out that the child proof coating on Duracell CR batteries is known to cause connectivity issues. That was apparent there was a voltage problem, but I kept checking with a few different batteries and they all read ~3.0v but maybe the holder don't like 'em. Now I just gotta find something besides Duracell. Sounds like a trip to Home Depot tomorrow. I'll post if this works. -
I'm an SCE customer and their smart meter speaks a protocol called ? and i use a Rainforest Automation Eagle to get the data into a little app I whipped up. I think I heard someone has written a node server for the Eagle. https://www.rainforestautomation.com/

I've had 1/2 dozen or so if these devices for a couple years now, they all used to work fine, but now at 5.8.4 the behavior has gotten strange. The other day one triggered when it detected moisture, then testing the others they did not trigger, they wake up when they feel like it, I excluded and re-included, they came in as a wake device(maybe just saw the one property?), I continued to fool with them, one after I had the battery out for ~! hour, let me include it in as a leak detector, it worked for a bit, but then it stopped working after I ran it through a few wet/dry cycles. Has anyone else had recent difficulties with these ZOOZ LSE42s? Got any recommendations? Thanks.

Replace eisy and/or Matter dongle with new one
GJ Software Products replied to GJ Software Products's topic in eisy
Digging deeper I found it needed a Firmware Update to get HDMI working. Updated the firmware and wahlah! Console output visible on HDMI port again. But I still should have a backup system to bring online in case of a failure. -
Replace eisy and/or Matter dongle with new one
GJ Software Products replied to GJ Software Products's topic in eisy
@DennisC Thanks. You're right. I'm referring to the Z-Wave/Zigbee USB Dongle from UD. I figured that'd have to work but I'd read so much (or just enough) to make me uncertain if the full backup would maintain what I think is called the Home ID of the system or if I'd have to reinitialize every Z-Wave device because the original Home ID wouldn't persist. Thanks again for your input! -
The HDMI port for the console output on my eisy stopped working. I've been thinking about this for a while, if I've got a complete backup, I.E. backup the dongle first then backup the eisy to a file on my HDD can that be restored to a new eisy and/or new dongle without having to discover and join each zwave and zigbee device over again? Let's say the eisy fails and I get a new one. What's the procedure to recover? Likewise for the Matter dongle?

Elk Failed Connection Notifications on Mobile App
GJ Software Products replied to zorax2's topic in ELK
I'm still intermittently getting this error as recent as 3/9/24. 5.8.0_1 , 3.2.19 , 3.10.15 . -
I figured I'd post this and see if anyone else experienced it. This AM after the time change last night I noticed all my night lights were still on. On opening the AC I found that the last run time for all my programs flagged run at startup or triggered by a program with run at startup was blank. I rebooted and everything started working right. Hummm... Oh yea, I'm at 5.8.0_1 .

Elk Failed Connection Notifications on Mobile App
GJ Software Products replied to zorax2's topic in ELK
Still today I too am seeing: "ELK (1): Failed" then "ELK (1): Connected" within one minute on the UD Mobile app. The node seems to be working, it's just those annoying messages. I'm at 5.7.1_7, 3.2.17, and Elk 3.10.11 . -
I ran "Upgrade Packages" again (2nd time for _7) like @Techman said above, last night, I got a message upgrade complete on UD Mobile but it didn't ask me to reboot so I waited for a bit and rebooted. I haven't got the Elk nodeserver disconnect/reconnect messages since and z-wave, etc. appears all is running well.

Support Thread for: IoX 5.7.1 (Nov 12, 2023)
GJ Software Products replied to Administrator's topic in IoX Support
@ShawnW For the heck of it I went ahead and ran Upgrade Packages again and my eisy just came back to life and I was fooling with it, I saw your post come up, it looks like after running Upgrade Packages again for _7 my eisy I think is behaving better... I'd say make your backups & run Upgrade Packages again. -Grant -
Was there an update after the fix on 12/7?
-
I went to IoX 5.7.1_07, PG3x 3.2.16, and Elk 3.10.5 back around 12/8 or so on my eisy and the next day I got an Elk Failed & Elk Connected with exactly the same timestamp to the second. It started to get a bit more prominent as the days went on. I also noticed the response time of my z-wave network lagging. When I got home from work today my entire z-wave was next to dead. I rebooted the eisy to no avail. I ran a heal on the z-wave network and if that helped any, it wasn't much. Darn near appears something is sucking up all the cpu ticks. Has anyone else seen this behavior after going to 5.7.1_07?

I just included two Series 800 ZEN32 Scene Controllers and they play well with my Matter dongle on eisy. I haven't tried Associating or Grouping them with any of my other 700 Series devices. @Michel Kohanim when do you think (rough idea) when they'll be an 800 chip in the Matter board?
-
@RPerrault Good stuff! Maybe when I retire (5 yr.) I'll have time to dig this deep. <lol> I'm way interested in your discoveries!
-
@Javi I just sent you a PM with a backup.
-
@Javi Yes, UD Mobile is at 1.1.40 . No, Home/My Programs/Folder/Program[1 or 2] both programs display fine without the error dialogue.
-
@JaviYes at 11/21 16:25 PST it still persists. (That's an earlier screen-shot but same message at 16:25). iOS 17.1.1 eisy (IoX 5.7.1)

I too have had issues all day. It started last night when trying to view a program in my Favorites. I've seen it appear to come back a few times, right now all the statuses updated but the programs still fail ERROR Could not get requested values. If you keep pressing the icon it will finally display (usually). I also experienced the values refresh issue but that seems to be working at the moment, right now it's just the Programs that fail to display. I've rebooted my eisy. Everything is fine with the AC.
-
@RPerrault Ahhh.. Thanks. I just tried Classic and haven't read up on Select...
-
I broke down & added the PC Controller to the eisy z-wave network but it didn't populate with the existing z-wave devices on the matter dongle. Maybe I didn't wait long enough? Please post if you get it to work.
-
I'll be interested on how this works for you. Even more so on how you include the Zooz stick into the eisy z-wave network. Will Simplicity Studio let you put the Zooz stick in Association mode that you can discover with eisy? Then once the HomeIDs are aligned it sounds like you're going to use Simplicity Studio to reach into the z-wave device without having to use IoX? I wish I had a Development platform to play with, all I've got is Production running my entire house so I hate to screw anything up. Epically on a Sunday! <lol>
-
Yea, I too have the Zooz stick and Simplicity Studio I use for flashing but it's a PITA to remove the device, bring it into the lab (just to get a FW ver. #), and maybe there's another way to get into it but the Home ID isn't going to match my Zooz stick so I have to reset it, which when I Add it back to UD it'll be a new node. In some of my recent readings I've found a Replace with Interview which would keep the node ID's the same. I think there's a replace option in IoX but again I don't find any documentation on that Action. I did find others are having the same problem with device version 1.0, they call it firmware v1.0 but in IoX X-Ray I find two tags/elements in DH Device: Integer DATA devices.9.data.applicationMajor = 1 (0x00000001) Integer DATA devices.9.data.applicationMinor = 0 (0x00000000) which the Major and Minor fields match that of the supposed problematic version, but on the mfg's forum others call it Firmware Release and here UD X-Ray is calling it application, so again I can't find any docu to line up. And I'd also like to know if I can do a Replace and the node IDs will remain the same and if there's anything to be careful of. I know UD's got their work cut out for them with the release of eisy, Matter, & the like, but more/better documentation on the UD implementation of Z-Wave sure would be nice.
