IoX 5.5.3 Here’s an interesting one that worked in my 994i but not in my eisy. Here’s some pseudocode first: If the scene button is pressed and the heater switch module is off, turn the switch module on, illuminate the button on the keypad and set a flag the heater is in override. Wait for x time then turn off the heater, button, and flag off. This works fine in my 994i but not in IoX. If I remove “And heater status is off” from the If statement it works. What I’m thinking is that as soon as heater status goes true, the If is no longer valid, so it stops running the Then at the Wait or beneath the Wait. Maybe I’m just missing something. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks. Program in my eisy: Program in my 994i:

@briansYes, it's hard to beat the keypadlinc, I went to the Zen32 not knowing the fate of Insteon but even right now moving the first Zen32 to my eisy I'm having to fight it and I gave up for now. Yea, it's scene button (1-4) related.

@briansYes, I remember fighting any one of the 4 smaller buttons would trigger the big button/relay. I don't remember exactly how I got around that but I've got parameter 19 (control on the relay) set to 2, disable local & Z-Wave control and I'm using it as a 5 button keypad and it works fine. I control the LEDs for the individual buttons programmatically. Here's how I think I've got it configured, my worksheet got corrupted. Parameter 1 Description: 0 3 LED always on Parameter 2 The configuration parameter 40 is a one byte field, used to set the lock to its default 2 Parameter 3 setting, known as a factory reset command. 2 Parameter 4 Reading this parameter will always return a value of 0. 0 3 LED always on Parameter 5 Writing a value of 1 to this parameter will cause both the lock and Z-Wave card to reset 2 Parameter 6 back to their default settings and will remove itself from the network. All network 0 Parameter 7 information, including associations will be cleared 0 Parameter 47 Motor Load Control 1 byte 0 Parameter 9 Default Value: 0 3 Parameter 10 Possible Values: 1 – enabled, 0 – disabled 0 Parameter 11 Description: 1 1 0-Bright, 1-Medium,2-Low Parameter 12 The configuration parameter 47 uses 1 byte that will allow the user to get / set the value 1 Parameter 13 to enable or disable the motor load alarm. Setting this byte to 0 will disable the alarm, 1 Parameter 14 whereas setting this byte to 1 will enable the alarm. If a motor load alarm has been 1 Parameter 15 activated and the alarm has been enabled, the alarm will be sent via the Power 1 Parameter 16 Management group in the Notification Command Class as a Load Error (0x09). 0 Parameter 17 0 Parameter 18 0 Parameter 19 Disable / Enable control on the relay 1 2 Disable Local & Z-Wave control Parameter 20 Set reporting behavior for disabled physical control 1 1 Parameter 21 0 Parameter 22 0 Parameter 23 0 1

@briansThanks. Yea, I had to upgrade the FW on my Zen32's and I got Simplicity Studio and a Zooz stick for one of my workstations so I'll have to look for any new FW for Leviton. However, after another factory reset I was able to Add it tonight. Had trouble setting parameter 7 from the device view but right clicking on the node & choosing ZWave/Set Configuration Parameter worked. I'm still a little bit hesitant to start moving my 994i to eisy, concerned about my Kwikset door lock and I need the Elk Node Server too. I've got a couple HomeSeer motion sensors / flood light controllers I need to experiment with too plus the Zen32s.

I couldn't Add until 5.5.3, 5.5.2 I was experiencing the System Busy loop. Yes, I did the 14 sec button press factory reset procedure and the eisy still can't find it. Yes, they've worked well here in my application, I don't control them manually either. They work great in my 500 994i but not yet in my eisy.

Support thread: IoX Release v5.5.3
GJ Software Products replied to Administrator's topic in IoX Support
5.5.3 fixed the System Busy loop when I would choose Migrate to Z-Wave+ Matter, I was able to add an AEOTEC Smart Switch 7 ZWA023 and a New One Smart Plug N4003 and they both work. But I cannot add a Leviton DZPA1. My existing Z-Wave network is loaded with DZPA1s, what’s one to do? -

Looks like 5.5.3 fixes the System Busy loop when you Migrate to Z-Wave+ Matter. I still need to try to add devices now.
-
@bigDvetteWow! I installed it, checked the Z-Wave checkbox, reboot & when you select Z-Wave on the menu bar it says no dongle found. And if I press Migrate to Z-Wave it winds up in an infinite System Busy loop.
-
@bigDvetteIs that using the USB: Z-Wave+ Matter module and not a Zooz 700? I've tried everything and can't get it to work. I have a ticket open with UDI and they told me a build is on the way.
-
@jhoulihanThere's a known problem with this, UDI is working on a patch. My eisy don't even see the USB: Z-Wave+ Matter module. I'm just planning on holding tight until the patch/build is avaiable.

@GRoehrborn"Cannot determine Insteon engine" is typically related to communications not there. And I've too expierenced "Out of memory" when it is actually a communications failure. Does your ISY see the PLM? You may try relocating the PLM, plugging it into a different outlet, away from any transformers, not behind a UPS or surge suppressor, all the basic comm failure stuff. I just went through what you describe with my old PLM on a new eisy, and it does appear it was comm related. Did you initialize the new PLM?

GE Enbrighten Z-Wave Plus Smart Outdoor Switch 14298
GJ Software Products replied to vbPhil's topic in ZMatter
@vbphilI've got one on my 994i with a 500 card at 5.3.4 and it's worked fine for at least a year. I haven't got the USB: Z-Wave+ Matter module working in my eisy yet so I don't know how it's gonna work on 5.5.x . I'm hoping for the best. -
Z-Wave devices not migrating after switching it eisy.
GJ Software Products replied to greensha's topic in ZMatter
@dbussYea, UDI is aware of and working on a patch. I was hoping to see it Fri. or Sat. but its probably turned into a bigger task and that's why the possible milestone date was missed. Hoping we'll see a new build soon. -
What is the correct sequence of steps to install the USB-ZWave+Matter? eisy IoX at 5.5.2 . I’m not interested in a migration at this time. I just want a fresh clean slate. I have installed my USB-ZWaveMatter and clicking on (or mouseing over) the Z-Wave menu option displays “Z-wave dongle not responding.” If I press “Migrate to ZMatter Z-wave” the eisy hangs in “System Busy.” The USB-Matter has been plugged in for days, both IoX has been restarted and Reboot has been fired multiple times, but the Z-Wave menu option still displays “Z-wave dongle not responding.” What are the proper steps, one by one, to install the USB-Zwave/Zigbee/Matter device and get it online, I.E.(example): 1. Shutdown the esiy. 2. Install the USB-ZWave+Matter. 3. Power on the eisy. 4. Wait a minute 5. Open the admin console. 6. Check Z-Wave Support 7. Restart IoX. 8. Choose the Z-Wave menu option 9. ….. THIS ABOVE IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE, NOT A SOLUTION. Could this be a bad USB: Z-Wave+ & Matter module? Can I check this from the Unix shell somehow?
-
So I goy my USB-Matter, no migration I want to start fresh, plugged 'er in, tried to initialize, it changed by username & pwd back to default, infinite System Busy loop, had to power-fail eisy and restore prior backup of the clean config I just started build on eisy, but no-bueno. Thank God for my 994i! At least I'm not in the dark! I submitted a support ticket, we'll see what Michael sez. At the current moment, (2) Insteon devices running on my eisy but can't get any Z-Wave with the USB-Matter dongle. I really can't tell if it sees the USB-Matter.
-
@elvisimprsntrNot that it's difficult but is a PITA to have to do all this configuration as a work-around because UDI took away the ability to configure the network settings locally at the device.

I had this problem getting connected to AWS IoT with another controller brand, the cert I got from AWS the controller couldn't find the CA cert for and failed on a very similar error message. You might just need to be sure you have the CA cert in your box, but then again I think UDI is using a self signed cert so you don't need a CA cert for it. Using openssl I created my own cert and CA cert to sign it with and uploaded those to AWS and problem was solved. But I don't think there is that level of cert management in ISY, maybe you could use ssh and the command prompt to install your own cert but Michael also told me the certs in ISY are used for internal services too so I'd be careful you don't create a brick. Maybe in the future we'll see more docu on certs in ISY?

<lol> I got plenty of stuff to play with at work right now. But then again my immediate supervisor has told me he doesn't know what I do so I could go hide in my VLAN and play with my eisy and he wouldn't know the difference.

Can't get UDI icon after running "start"
GJ Software Products replied to br928s4's topic in IoX Support
The other day when I was trying that for something I was geyed out of Cached & Installed files, which was a bit surprising as I run other Java based applets, etc. and found it interesting why I was greyed out but I went on and whatever problem it was resolved itself? This wouldn't have been the first (or hundredth) time I cleared cache. There'd have to been something in there to clear. Clearing cache doesn't have anything to do with restricted in Java Security Settings does it? -
Michael told me "Please do NOT change port numbers. Polisy has many services running inside and if you change port numbers, you run the risk of causing the system to brick", so I would guess the same applies to eisy. You can get to the ip addy using ssh to FreeBSD but I haven't read the FreeBSD docs and it's been almost 3 decades since I managed a Unix box and I don't want to point you in the wrong direction. Maybe others can chime in.
