Outline of how Echo works - Help appreciated

I had issues using Tasker over ddns (even with "trust all certificates" checked) and I believe IFTTT requires a certificate. Jon... -

My response times are pretty fast; about 1.5 sec from end of command to execution. That said, nothing is as fast or reliable as local but Echo for me isn't mission critical but a fun, novel convenience. The portal basically offers a secure proxy that eliminates the hassle and expense of certificates, Alexa and IFTTT are really just bonuses Jon... -

No... You have the option to keep the module or extend your portal subscription however, only firmware/UI version 4.4.3+ support the free network resource integration with the portal; v5.0.2 does not and 5.0.3 is yet a hazard Once you set-up the Portal then Alexa is fairly easy to connect. Jon... -
You are using UPnP and not DHCP. You might research this a little on the Forum or look at this thread. The fact Prowl notifications isn't working possibly has to do with network issue. Jon..

Yeah I don't like it... hard to distinguish if there's any background noise. Guess that's what we get for complaining about "ok." Now if we could get Alexa to give us color coded signals along with the chimes that might help. Jon...

You might look at the network and see if ISY is visible. Jon...

Yes, just tested and have the same. Not certain I like this response because if the command isn't understood at times Echo just drops. Jon...

You make known to Alexa the devices in ISY through the portal configuration https://my.isy.io/index.htm Tools > Connectivity > Amazon Echo then ask Echo to discover. Select Device, Scene or Program then assign it a spoken phrase. However, seems you also need to setup Connected Home. Jon...

I think it means the writes timed out. If you right click and select "write updates" then activate the sensor it should complete. Did you make changes or something to cause the updates? Jon...

I didn't realize you were using the 99i... Couple things I noticed. 1.) The Dashboard and Admin Console UI used needs to be the same version as your firmware (see your first image "version.jpg.") You need to clear your Java Cache then download the correct versions (if your Admin Console is also wrong see Help > About) 2.) Your network settings are UPnP. You might change this to DHCP and reserve the address in your router (after you install the correct Dashboard and if needed Admin Console.) That could be your problem. Jon...

The "Verify" setting is not in the Administration Console. You have to use the Dashboard. See post #2 Jon...

Apparently you have another spoken phrase using "patio lights?" Try "Alexa, all patio lights on" and without any background noise Jon...
