Yeah good point but that would be a lot of lights in one scene for the whole house. Plus the changes of sending that many commends at once could cause failures where lights dont turn off or go to the level you want. Repeats may help though. Too bad you cant copy a scene like you can programs to make it easier to do as well. Then I could just do an "All Inside" scene, copy it and apply the lighting levels.

Just wondering what the best way is to transition from one scene to another? For example from say sunset scene to a nite-tv scene? I get that you can say "If this" - "Then that" in a program and turn the scene you want on and then turn off the other lights via a program - but what about lights that need to be turned off that were turned on and not included in the sunset scene? Does this make sense? Right now I have a program setup that says if I press a KPL button then a program runs that turns off all the lights I dont want on that were turned on for the sunset scene for the nite off - then run the tv-nite scene but for lights that maybe are still on in a bathroom or something that are not normally on how do I get those to turn off?

I have Honeywell Prestige 2.0 thermostats in my home with Comfort Connect. They are really nice and there is an app out to control them with the Redlink Gateway. I would love to see the API work with the ISY but believe the ISY will only support REST commands.

I tried using 2486D, 2486D-SW and 2486DWH8 - all show as unsupported Revision and the device firmware at v1.65 even though the device firmware sticker shows v7.0 - also to note it will add the device but not the buttons and this is the same for the 2334-222 & 232 devices. I just purchased the 994ir which should be here soon and will solve my problem. However this is a good reason for those people who havent upgraded yet may want to start thinking about doing so before being forced too as new devices are replacing legacy devices.
-
Does these keypadlinc versions work with the ISY99ir or because its EOL they are not supported? I ask because I had issues with some KPLs that went bad and got these as replacement which are not recognized by my 99ir with firmware 3.3.10

How do I generate and install a self signed certificate
Scottmichaelj replied to mitch236's topic in ISY994
I would like to respond with a dumb question. Wouldn't a self signed ssl cert (or none) be ok if your using a VPN while remotely connecting therefore removing the "man in the middle"? I have been running an ISY for years now, never had a SSL cert, and use a VPN when connecting externally to any of my internal devices without issue. Just another thought? -
I think I get what your saying. However if you have guests who use the restroom and then turn off the fan and it switches back on they may try and turn it off again getting caught in a catch 22. Nor would there anyway to override the program. Any suggestions?

I am trying to get a program setup that when you turn off the bathroom fan switchlin the fan stays on for 15mins after its switched off. I have been away from the ISY game for a while so a bit rusty. Here is the program: If Control 'Bathroon Fan (DS)' is switched On And Control 'Bathroon Fan (DS)' is switched Off Then Wait 15 minutes Set 'Bathroon Fan (DS)' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I want it to stay on the whole time it was "ON" just after pressing "OFF" it goes to a 15 min timer. I tried setting up two programs too but unsuccessful. Thnks in advance for the help.

Push notifications to all your IOS and Android 2.2+ devices
Scottmichaelj replied to MWareman's topic in ISY994
Has anyone seen this site & app? https://pushover.net/ I been using it with http://www.ifttt.com - Pretty nice setup as well. The more the merrier right? Especially for other platforms. -
I am in the process of building a new home and was wondering if anyone has done any intercom systems integrated with the ISY or Insteon? The On-Q IC5400-WH Selective Call Intercom system looks nice but it would be nicer to have an iPhone/iPad app so that you could see and answer from those devices plus something in the wall if you didnt have it handy. Any info, thoughts, pending ideas/projects on this are welcome. I am also thinking of upgrading the ISY to ZWave with Insteon as well so maybe there is something that might be better on that side. Thanks in advance!

My two cents but you could use the lock of your choice combined with a triggerinc. Then use the ISY and a program to give you the status. Could also use Growl to send push notifications. Then you could be confident the door is closed and the lock engaged or accessed. I do a similar thing for my garage door for day to day entry/exit and while on vacation. This way while on vacation if the garage door opens I am notified via push notification (along with the sheriffs department via our monitored security system). FWIW.

So BaH Humbug on Halloween night! How do I setup my front lights to skip a certain date (Halloween) so they don't turn on?
-
Just wanted to post an update. Joefly and I were never able to setup a time to troubleshoot what was wrong. However I have since added three additional Home Theater PCs to my home all with the Airytech software controlled with the ISY without issues. I was even added a "sleep mode" for each PC so that the PC will shut down after a specific amount of time after an "action", which is a programmed button on my Philips Universal remote controls. I can't imagine not having this module!

Does anyone have any Insteon stuff they want to get rid of ?
Scottmichaelj replied to easytim's topic in ISY994

Currently I have a Beutler RCS TR60 Thermostat (actually ZTECH TS40B) 2-Zone HVAC Smartvent system. I would like to replace these thermostats with ones that will work with my ISY99. The trick is getting one that can also handle the smartvent. I would like to have the ISY and my weatherbug help control the tempature in the house and also be able to use mobilinc as well. We use the smartvent a lot so it needs to be compatible. It would be nice to be able to run the house fan on a schedule too without having to turn it on/off manually. I am not very familiar with HVAC systems so any help would be appreciated.

OK So I am having on of "those days" and can't seem to figure this out. Sorry in advance for the lame question, but how do I turn a scene on at a specific time when I hit a IR action? What I am trying to do is set my TV to turn on like an alarm only when I hit a "wake" button on my remote at night. Some days I won't need to wake up at the scheduled time so I don't want to schedule it everyday. I know how to create the scene, etc I just can't figure out the programming of this. So at night when I hit "Wake" button on my remote, I want my IR Linc to turn on my DirecTV and TV at 6:15am in the morning to wake me up.

I have the line "Authorization: Basic VXNlcjphZG1pbg==" no quotes under the Content-Type Line in the actuals box - Its been so long since I set this up I forgot where I got this from. Try adding it and see if thats it. Also I have "Encode URL" checked, and my timeout is 3,400ms - Leave everything else in your screenshot the same and see if this helps. Keep the /?action=System.Sleep as is I dont think thats the problem. Could be the timeout is too fast and the WOL is not getting the command fast enough. Let me know how it goes.
-
Also one other important thing to mention. Make sure your PC has the ability to WOL and is setup correctly first before trying to setup the ISY. If you can not get your PC to WOL via another PC or via a website then you never will get the ISY to work. There are many free utilities (including iphone apps) that you can get to test to make sure your PC is setup correctly. [uPDATE] leave the / there and also make sure "encode url" is checked.

My setup is - Airytec 3.3.1, my server has a static IP, I am only using the ISY and WOL command on my network internally. In options, under remote I have checked "enable web interface" at default port 8000. I do not have a username or password enabled. I am not sure what changes if really any matter on the new version but I can confirm that 3.3.1 works and you can download the old versions directly from the website here: http://www.airytec.com/en/switch-off/history.aspx I hope this helps. Make sure on the ISY setup the MAC Address has a - and . for the IP. I dont recall there ever being a password on the ISY setup side but it looks like there is in the newer firmware. Let me clarify more. I setup the Networking module under an older firmware. I have since updated but only to 3.3.0 - I notice there is a "password" which I have three bullet circles showing there. I do not recall ever setting up a password. This maybe a new item or just leaving it blank, and saving it, then by default thats how it now shows when you go into it to edit it. Maybe Michel can give his two cents? I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

If you dont mind I will chime in with my .02 cents. I was using a RF to X10 module with the Black and Decker remote programmed in my trucks Homelink remote garage door opener so then when I open the garage door with the rear view mirror buttons I could also hit the second button (there are three) to send the on command to the RF X10 then turn on lights in my home if they were already turned off for the night. Great for when I was coming home late from the airport after midnight and all the house lights were off. Long story short the X10 was really unreliable and I was trying to figure out an alternative. Getting to the point, I put in a triggerlinc in the top middle of my garage door (protected from weather) with a program that if its "X" time and "X" lights are "off" then if the triggerlinc was opened then "x" lights turn on. So I took it a step further and setup a program that if it was "after sunset" and if the triggerlinc was open (because the garage door is open) then certain lights like in the master bedroom, kitchen and garage hall would not turn off. I also been thinking about letting them turn off but then they turn back on as a better warning. I have not had issues with the triggerlinc and the battery seems to last a long while (so far two months without changing it). I use Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries so it works out good for me. Not sure what to expect if the battery dies but couldnt you send a email to yourself via the ISY if it went dead and it needed to be changed? It takes like 2 mins to swap it out!

huddadudda, great find! Thanks for the setup instructions. This will be a great resource for any ISY user wanting to shut-down/restart/sleep a computer from ISY. NP - Maybe it would be a good idea to add to the Networking Module Wiki?
-
Michel and I figured out a simple solution for this exact thing using a program called switchoff by airytec (www.airytec.com). Just download and install the program on your pc you want to be able to shutdown then using the networking module you can do a wake on LAN and then sleep the pc (or shutdown/restart). The program is super small and light not using hardly any cpu processing power which I really like. There are other options you can use in this program but I don't use them. Its pretty cool as I can hit a key on my universal remote to wake my media server located in my closet then holding that same button puts it to sleep when I am done. Post back here if you need more help. BTW wol in the network module should wake your pc after it sleeps with no issues. EDIT: A little more info... In the ISY Administration Console go to the Configuration Tab then select Networking, Network Resources. Then you will add a new line. Mine is named "Sleep" - then double click on URL section and a screen will pop up. Leave it to say "http" and "get" then enter your PCs IP (mine are static) where you installed the program on. Port = 8000 and put "/?action=System.Sleep" in the path section without the quotes and save. Then you will need to setup your "program" to access this network resource. For my program I have "If 'X button' is held' then Resource Sleep. Under action you will select "networking" -> "resource" -> "sleep". Hope this helps! I even donated to that product since I use it all the time.

Firmware 2.7.13 BETA is Now Available

Nothing happens regardless where I click. I tried the device icon, plus the left, right and center of the device name while the device is highlighted. -

LOL - That's what I am doing now but I have over 100+ devices so there is always a bottom regardless of even the highest screen resolution of 2500x1600. Even the last device in the last scene is at the bottom. I think its a small BUG that needs to be noted and fixed in an upcoming release. -

2.7.13 - installed fine for me and everything seems good except for I still cant right click on a device in "my lighting" at the bottom on the window. Is anyone else having this issue? I made sure to clear my Java cache and temp files in IE8 on a PC. I can right click on a scene that is at bottom but when its expanded I cant right click on the device either.
