Michel, Can you provide more insight to 3 / 4? 3. I can see as a benefit to those who like to power the ISY. But, a con for those who like to have the ISY on a UPS. 4. I am assuming the case will look like the new on / off plugin switch? Teken . . .

Since this is only a test I would reset the I/O Linc and try again. In case its just stuck report back. Teken . . .

Just taking a random stab at this. But is the device you're using to control the I/O Linc for example KPL set to issue a ON, vs Toggle? Teken . . .

Changed it to the airport and it appears to be working much better. I have to take pause with some of the other stations listed as either HAM defaults to some random value for some fields. Or, five of these sites have exactly the same errors being displayed. ie. Cloud condition is dead wrong, light, humidity, etc Teken . . .

Is this something we should expect to occur from time to time? Where stations where we subscribe just disappear? I will need to do a locate me when I get back home as I am on our Corporate network and it shows me as being in Washington! Teken . . .

The service must be down or something weird is going on. All of my temperatures are showing up as 0 degree's? Teken . . .

Hello Richardv24, I was simply addressing your question about Zigbee. You can have either Zigbee / Insteon, or Z-Wave / Insteon. Zigbee via the ISY only supports energy management and some TSTATS. It does not support Zigbee HA (Home Automation) products due to the different protocols used by various manufactures. Teken . . .

The ISY only supports energy management and TSTATs with Zjgbee along with Insteon. You're best served going with Z-Wave / Insteon at this point in time. Teken Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Hello John, It has been removed do to changes in its API and changes to their TOS (terms of service). UDI is currently working on an alternative solution at this time. Teken . . . Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

I would suggest you purchase a remote power switch. This device would allow you to remotely turn the power on, off, or cycle power. Many of them have the ability to ping an attached network device. Upon failed ping response (which the user defines) the remote power switch would cycle the power. The only problem I have seen with these devices is that some devices will indeed ping back even when the hardware is in sort locked up state. Just another alternative solution for those looking into this area. Teken . . .

I would have to assume since you're already working on their Z-Wave devices its would be one and the same?? The only difference in my view is that you're asking them for the Zigbee API documentation and have to believe you would have signed a NDA to obtain their Z-Wave API docs, no?? Teken . . .

I believe some people have used the Synchro Linc, Micro On/Off with Sense, or if budget allows the incorporation of the GEM with the energy module plug in to the ISY. I use the ISY / GEM to detect the current state, running state, and idle state of the washer, dryer, dish washer, etc. At that point the ISY sends off a e-mail confirming the above is done its cycle etc. Teken . . .

Hello Michel, It would be appreciated it you could find sometime and review the API docs for the Zigbee enabled locks the OP has posted up and report back if its even possible. One would think some of these makers would try to follow a standard. History has proven when standards are not followed, adoption rates are near zero from the consumer point of view. Any help in this regard would be very helpful and would at least put to bed whether this is something those who have the ISY-994 iZ version can either look forward to, or just abandon. Teken . . .

Specifically are you saying the ISY requires content in both fields ? Teken . . . Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

I would just be happy to see Zigbee locks and TSTAT's to be supported. The other HA devices could be supported later on, time permitting. Otherwise my only recourse is to upgrade one of my ISY to the Z-Wave model which (currently) can't talk two way with the Zigbee ISY I have now. The cleanest approach is to provide support with Zigbee for locks and TSTAT's. Off memory I believe I saw related threads indicating Zigbee TSTATS were supported but I don't recall what brands / models. As always, I thank UDI and you, for their endless support and development of the ISY platform. Teken . . .

Please add me in as another person strongly wanting support for the Zigbee protocol. It seems the Zigbee protocol has been relegated to only energy management and nothing else. Lets please move forward and provide the same support for TSTAT, Locks, and other related devices. Teken . . .

You can't turn off remotely, not locally, correct? Teken . . .

You can absolutely use a UPS to protect the ISY. That does not address the fact the PLM is not on a UPS. Teken . . .

As stated some members have placed both of their ISY & PLM on a UPS to avoid any power outages. The reality is what can these people control when there is no power? My goal was only to protect both devices against electrical surge events not so much having the ability to control the Insteon network. Teken Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

Some have placed both devices on a UPS via Filterlinc. This forces the PLM to only broadcast via RF and appears to work for those using this method. I personally believe its best to have both modes of communications via power line and RF to ensure the most robust Insteon network. My set up has the ISY protected by three different surge power conditioners, which is also powered via two different UPS systems. The PLM is protected by three layers of surge protectors in the home. A Type 1 primary surge protector is installed at the service entrance meter. A Type 2 secondary surge protector at the service panel. Lastly, a Type 3 point of use surge alarm electrical outlet protectors the PLM. Some highly sensitive electronic gear is bridged using SSR's and optical relays to provide 100% isolation and surge / lightning protection. Teken . . .

Perhaps a RMA is in order as it sounds like you tried all the trouble shooting steps. Teken Encrypted By: Phoenix Security Solutions

You can also perform a cheap hack to reduce the MS field of view. Simply apply some tape or what ever masking agent you wish to the lower portion of the sensor. This will allow the kitty cat to roam around undetected. Teken . . .
