    Web Page Time Out

There is a link some where on the UDI forum which allows a user to access their ISY via your web server. Upon logging into the service I was prompted to enter my user name and password. After a successful log in my Insteon system was indeed displayed. But, after a few moments of inspection it appears this console was not actually live but was a rendering of my system which did not allow me any sort of control etc. I decided to log in from a remote location to verify that I am indeed able to log into the ISY remotely taking out my local network as a possible problem area. I was indeed able to do so, and all aspects of changes and updates could be performed as if I was at home login locally within my network. Is there something I am doing wrong? Or is this service via your web server simply a viewing portal and not intended to control the ISY system?

    Electricity tab?

Hello Michel Kohanim, Looking forward to any future enhancements to this area. As others have expressed we are trying very hard to work with what we have on hand before spending anymore money in such hard economic times. As always I thank you and those who support this great device.
  4. I appreciated the extensive clarification you gave on the smarthome forum. Just wanted everyone to know that I did receive all the relevant information to my original Q. Much thanks to all . . .

    Web Page Time Out

Does the ISY-99i Pro have a time out for how long you can be logged in for a session? Also, can there be multiple users logged in at once from different locations? I do realize that there is only ONE login, with one user name. But, wanted to know if for instance I forgot to log off on the home PC. Then, later on realizing I had to make some adjustments to the Insteon network that I could indeed log in, all the while the home PC was concurrently logged in too? Lastly, could someone please clarify the intent of the UDI web interface to remote into the ISY system. As I logged into my own system but it appears this was simply a dummy interface with no live control? Insight . . .

    Electricity tab?

Just a follow up as to the current status of this portion of the application. Wanted to know if any new enhancements will be forth coming in this module.
  7. This question as given me a lot more insight as to my problem as well. Just reading the replies has made my head spin! But, I will also try what has been suggested here as well. Since I too have the same problem with my set up. As always LeeG, you're fantastic . . .
  8. How does one add the serial dual band plm 2413S into the ISY-99i Pro admin console? I have tried repeatably to add this device and it never takes. I am using the latest CR3 v2.8.7 firmware, the PLM is v1.0 with a production date of 0931.

    Scene Test Question

Hello, Michel Kohanim When you turn on the scene in question. Is the scene test suppose to turn off that specific scene? I am asking because I want to learn and know if this is the correct behavior. Also, how does one activate the other 3 options in the drop down box? I have to gather this is done in some sort of sequence or order for it to take place?
  11. Could someone please explain to me what the scene test function is for and how it is used? Here is a log I copy and pasted over from one scene test. I noticed that there are also several options at the end of the scene test window. Selecting any of them does not appear to do anything nor does it stay in that position if you re-run the scene test over? Also I noticed messages about cleaning up etc. Does this program do a house cleaning of sorts, say if it finds broken links etc, it will correct the errors to ensure a reliable Insteon network? 12. Thank you both . . . I thought I was completely retarded here. Problem was referring to the manual which kept on referencing the serial cable. I had no clue how this was accomplished with out a gender adapter, also thinking I was missing something from the box! Lastly, because this unit is the newer PLM which does not supply power directly to the ISY-99i Pro I didn't want to zap the module if it was powered over the Ethernet cable.
  13. OK, this makes more sense to me now. I think what confused me is that both units came with a serial cable. The PLM 2413S has a serial end, and the other side has a RJ45 connector which obviously connect to the PLM. The supplied serial cable from UDI, is used to connect to other devices which do not use dhcp etc. So, to be clear: Just use the two supplied *standard RJ45 Ethernet cables* and plug then into the router and the PLM respectively.
  14. Can someone post up a picture of what connectors goes where for this unit. Unless I am missing the obvious or a part is missing I can't see how this all gets connected together. Out of the box the serial plm has the serial cable connector on one end of the cable, on the other there is a standard RJ45 plug. I can see that only a few wires have been used in this plug. It also came with a power adapter to supply power to the ISY as this is a dual band 2412S PLM. Next . . . In the box that the ISY-99i Pro came in has the following: 1. The main unit (ISY-99i Pro) 2. Serial cable, one side is the male the other is the female side. 3. Two standard RJ45 Ethernet cables. So how does this all get connected to my router > ISY > PLM? Please upload a picture of the physical set up so I can see as to how its installed. Because right now, unless there is a gender male / female adapter the cable that came with the plm will NOT fit in the back of the ISY! If its simply just installing BOTH RJ45 cables, one to the router, and the other to the PLM, then all is well . . . I don't want to smoke this brand new box I just got in the mail!
