This is how I would like to use the Energy display device so please do bare with me. I would like to have several of these Energy Displays placed in key areas of the home. Once the temperature in that room / zone reached a specified temperature. The ISY would instruct various relay appliance lincs to turn on and begin venting, blowing, or exhausting the air in that room until such time the temperature came back up / down specified by me via a ISY program. Can the Energy Display be used in this fashion?? I have several goals which are currently being tested, and validated at the moment. My primary plan is to install the Insteon thermostat. Once this device is in place it will serve as the secondary HVAC solution. What I intend to do is the following based on the season (summer / winter): If the house reaches a specified temperature several stages of the HA will be invoked to maintain the set temperature. Stage 1: Will instruct any zoned fans / ceiling fans to turn on to circulate the ambient air in that room / zone. If the temperature can not be stabilized. Stage 2: This will turn on the over head range to exhaust the immediate air from the kitchen which is in the center of the home. Stage 3: If again, the set temperature can still not be achieved. This will turn on the central exhaust in the home. Stage 4: This will turn on the central AC system to complete the final task of meeting the set temperature based on time, schedule, etc. All of this will be tied into the window blinds which will open / close to achieve the set temperature via the free solar heat generated by Mother Nature! So, if I simply place the Energy Monitor(s) used as remote thermostats will these devices be able to perform the above tasks?? In plain terms: Can I count on being able to poll, then based on the readings of the remote TSTAT be able to craft a ISY program to achieve this end goal?? Your thoughts . . . Teken . . .

Is it possible in future ISY firmware releases to make said beeper sound out for a specified time period as it done in the HL2 software? Would that be something the UDI team could look into and consider doing? I know a program can be written to make it so but understand that the extra traffic could be a problem. Your thoughts . . . Teken . . .

I thought it would be a good idea to ask the UDI team as to how this new feature is enabled and deployed in a ISY / Insteon environment. In this SH thread I indicate what the full user manual states. http://www.smarthome.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9238 Given UDI is one of the primary vendors for support I believe their insight would be most helpful. Brian H, Could you please confirm for me if the SynchroLinc can be enrolled with both Controller / Responders? I dropped the hammer finally and purchased one of these along with quite a few random dual band devices to complete the next phase of my system. Also, could you provide some feed back about how you're using the SynchroLink and any pro's and con's you have encountered since deploying it in your Insteon network system. Lastly, I don't recall if you purchased the iMeter. If so did you ever do a review of the device if you did could you link me to the article. As always I thank you for your insight and feed-back. Brian H, Your timing is impeccable !! Thank you for providing this link as I will need it in the future. Teken . . .

3.1.13 installed with out any problems. Everything thus far tests correctly and is 100% functional. Once again thank you for correcting the weather bug module with the slider! Teken . . .

Hi Teken, This is fixed in the next build. The line separation has been removed and it is also now scrollable. Chris, As always, I thank you and the UDI team for your continued support and guidance . . .

Could I request that the weather modules information (line separation) be restored to the previous way? The new changes have made the whole format of text so long that two of the bottom lines can't be read. Teken . . .

Basement Temp sensor for ISY-99i and thus Venstar Insteon
Teken replied to jeffpdavis1's topic in ISY994
The Touchlinc will be discontinued? Wow, that was a very short life cycle for that product! -
Does this operation work for simple changes such as adding a new device(s) and not just programs? If so, I thank you so much for calling out this feature and how to deploy it!
-
Absolutely !! This winter will be very long, cold, and dark. I would rather not be outside in the garage, yard, etc if at all possible when the *magic* time of doing a update / configuration change is required.

Currently, the Houselinc 2 software does allow this feature to be invoked and update the said motion sensor. As an aside, this same feature was removed in another release, but then restored in the last iteration of the HL2 software. Because, it was resoundingly stated this one feature was not only wanted, it was needed. I hope in the future, what ever limitations that is stopping this feature is considered for implementation with in the ISY platform.

Basement Temp sensor for ISY-99i and thus Venstar Insteon

I would like to add my vote to the energy display also. I was not aware that the UDI team was waiting for more request for product support. I just always took it for granted that each new Insteon device would simply be added into the road map. -
I am not sure if this question has been posed before by the forum members here at UDI. Will the ISY in the future have the ability to communicate with the motion sensor and update its programming as it is done with the HL2 software? Currently, the HL2 software allows the user the ability to simply walk over to the motion sensor, awaken it. Then, this allows the motion sensor to be updated with out the need to remove it from its installed place and press the set button. In the very near future I will be installing several motion sensors above the 20 feet range. I am not looking forward to climbing up a ladder in sub zero temps, in the dark, to simply hit a idiot button. I hope this feature will be incorporated into the next firmware release in the not too distant future. Teken . . .

Yes, it must be the firewall at work. Strange thing is that once in a blue moon the ISY does pop up the devices not found and plugged in. This happens maybe once out of 30-40 attempts though . . .
-
First attempt with 3.1.8 failed, upon second attempt the upgrade went fine. Tried the newest beta release of 3.1.9 tonight and the same *first* upgrade failed. Performing a second upgrade completed fine . . . The UI does appear to load much faster as one member had noted prior. All systems appear to be fully operational and was able to perform a full back up with out fault. One thing to note is that from work I can not make the ISY show the true status of the devices once I turn them on / off. If I didn't have 16 cameras running in the home I would not be able to confirm the status. I am not sure why this behavior exists to be honest. Normally when I log in from a public address the ISY will alert me of any of the appliance links which are not plugged in. So from there I have to close all of the pop up windows. When I am at work none of the 12 Appliance links which are unplugged show up as being a problem??? This is how I know the ISY has not loaded correctly, or perhaps not able to communicate fully to me on my end. PS The weather bug also does not populate either and this is also another indicator to me that the ISY will not show me the on / off status. Insight??

All is well and the upgrade went very smooth. As always I must thank the entire UDI team for their continued support, updates, and first class customer support. Also, I did receive a refund for the $15.00 which did not go through with the discount code. Much thanks to all and continue the path of having the best HA controller on the market!

Michael, I purchased the Irrigation module using the Google check out but there was no place to insert the coupon code. So I do believe it was charged at the normal rate of $19.00 USD, and assistance in getting that code to work to receive the module for limited offer would be greatly appreciated. Also, I tried to purchase the weather bug module as well. But, the system kept crying about too many items with some line code??

Andyf0, Could you write out the program I am looking for using your example above for me. Some of this stuff is just past my simple understanding right now. If <---- This line of text is what I am confused about. Time is 1:00:00 pm Then $State_1 -= 1 $State_1 Init to $State_1
-
I am stuck on the last portion of this program. How and where do I add in the time in the If portion you have below? I will definitely use your light bulb idea to confirm the operation of this program once I get this last portion done. Much thanks to both of you for the guidance. Lastly, with out the variables being a option, could this task not be done with a simple program? If Time is 1:00:00 pm Then $State_1 -= 1
-
Where is this --> $State_

I would like some help in creating a program which will turn on a power bar every two weeks (15 days) for 3 hours in duration. Once that time has passed, the program would end. This program would continue forever . . . I would like the program to start on Saturday at 11:00 AM, then turn off at 2:00 PM. Your help and assistance is greatly appreciated . . . Also, I would like to have a e-mail sent to me to confirm that this program has indeed started and ended. Much Thanks Teken . . .
