  1. You can never have enough back up power: [emoji2957] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If you haven't done so already place the ISY Series Controller on a quality UPS.

Personally, I'm a APC fan but Cyber Power is also a good brand along with Triplite

This would be a good time to invest in a small quality UPS for the system.
  5. I was thinking maybe this new 4 button KPL is like the wide button version some members have created in the past. Our dear friend Stu had made a few and show cased them in past threads. I’ve been wanting to do the same for awhile but never got around to doing so. If this is similar then Smartlabs has saved me time and effort and the frame assembly will be purpose built to do so! Long term it would probably make a lot more sense to offer a Ethernet based I/O board similar to the ones you referenced in the past for relays. Since the Polyisy has three RJ45 ports why not use one of the two remaining instead of hacking the case to shoe horn some crappy cables?!? Another option would be to use the serial port but given that is going to be used for the Insteon connection. I’m not too sure sending multiple serial data streams through a break out box is a very good idea. [emoji1785] Regardless, good times for all of us if and when this box becomes the next generation controller! Node Link - Node Link - Bueller - Node Link - Bueller?!? 7. To be clear the bad device has been removed from the ISY Series Controller? Or did you simply (physically) pull it out? [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Not sure what kind of networking gear along with Firewall is on site. But can you confirm you tried to connect while WiFi was disconnected and tried via cellular? I have the same issues here because my firewall doesn’t allow the public IP to be used while connected on the LAN / local WiFi. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Larry, I’ve seen you reference this a few times over the years. Is there something specific you can point out that you believe is less than factual in the Insteon White Paper?!? [emoji848] I’ve read this document quite a few times over the years and can’t say there are any elements which aren’t grounded in facts or supported by the actual hardware. The only thing I could probably call out that isn’t what most people would consider security is the fact Smartlabs over plays the linking process as being one of the primary security elements. [emoji1785] If they were serious like Z-Wave they would have incorporated true encryption along with local add linking to the topology. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Adding multiple devices in a defined scene within the ISY Series Controller is exactly the same as if you did it manually via the set buttons on each device for associated links. Keep in mind you always want to do all linking through the controller so the expected behaviour is seen. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Almost anything is possible via USB. The problem though is the correct USB drivers need to be integrated with the BSD OS. That is probably the greatest failing in Unix / Linux OS as many of the common Windows USB drivers are not present or readily available for use without each maker investing the time to incorporate them. The so called Plug & Play (P&P) was a great concept more than 20 years ago. But the reality is only 70% of the most common hardware is on board Windows OS and the same support for none Windows drops to below 45%! [emoji1785] One only needs to reference BLE!! [emoji35] It’s only taking the Raspberries Pi foundation three freaking years to offer a half *** solution and it’s still not there yet! [emoji107] I hope very much BLE support on BSD won’t take another five years?!? [emoji3525] For I/O given the vast support via RPI you simply can’t go wrong so it makes sense to go that route if you have near term plans. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Well, if the Insteon Gods we’re listening perhaps it will be a LCD driven KPL? Incorporate energy monitoring? Built in Alexa / Google? [emoji848] Just waiting for the FCC database to show the interior / exterior hardware and initial user manual. [emoji16] On a related tangent hope a new dual band I/O Linc is in the pipeline along with more international offerings for our brothers & sisters across the pond! [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Another new listing for hardware has been added just today from Smartlabs and the FCC ID is: SBP-Wall / PS01 https://fccid.io/SBP-WALL Initial testing data can be found here: https://fccid.io/SBP-WALL/Test-Report/S19101601506001-FCC-249-R1-4657462 Perhaps we shall see a couple of new pieces of hardware for 2020 such as the PLM Pro with 4K links!
  14. There are other possibilities using other sensors like temperature, vibration, and open-close sensors. One of the forum members built a switch contact sensor to monitor his dryer vent which indicates to him the drying cycle is complete.
  15. Can you describe your network? Do you have any firewall appliances? ISP Router / Modem -> ISY? ISP Modem -> Router -> ISY? ISP Modem -> Router -> Switch -> ISY? Cost you nothing to reboot each device one at a time and report back success / fail. Always reboot the ISP first and let it come back on line. If there is a router reboot that next. Once up restart the ISY and try again. One thing to note regarding using Gmail. You need to follow the WiKi regarding having the FROM field correctly populated otherwise mail will go into a black hole. Lastly, can you confirm you have no issues going to any websites? 16. Just create a gmail account and you’re good. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Answers in line and below here: AMD 1 GHZ Quad Core, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB SSD, DB9 (Serial / Insteon). The company is investigating Z-Wave Series 700 dongles for this support. ZigBee is also on the table but would use Node Servers for this support. The system comes with BLE, WiFi for the Pro version. There is also a slot for a SIM I believe could be wrong but this is what I recall. There is a header but haven't seen it discussed. 12V @ max 2A (when you have peripherals). But, normally 12V @1A = 12W. Temperature range is commercial. Lastly, the current system will support 1024 Nodes and 1000 Programs - For Now!

Appreciate the update on that as I was really hoping to see the program with different delays help you solve this. But, not all is lost because if you have one of those remotes you could (IF) willing could tap into the remote and using a dry contact device say I/O Linc / Z-Wave equivalent and make the blinds move in unison. I read a few members going this route because what you're seeing is *A Typical* for blind control.

The door bell is / was 120 VAC powered and the sensor of course was battery powered. Probably if I added more buttaaaaaaaaa it might have worked!
  23. Teken replied to TexMike's topic in ISY994
Going off fuzzy memory about two years ago I was setting up some Z-Wave door bells and linked directly to a motion sensor. Both door chime / door bells were linked directly to the sensor and each of them had a slight delay before the door bell would chime / go bong. It was super annoying so the client abandoned that setup and kept the Insteon door bell solution I used instead. Having tried to do the whole routing, beaming, healing, add / remove, 99999999999 repeaters, whatever at the time was just a time suck!

From personal experience this also gives that apparent *Pop Corn* effect too.
  25. Teken replied to TexMike's topic in ISY994
I would say if the 994 Series Controller is going to be managing these *Scenes* you might very well see them in sync or not. If they are not in sync again you have the ability to add a wait in the program to compensate for the delays in one set of blinds. Regardless, love to hear what happens using scenes vs a program.
