I've seen this a few times in the past and most recently when upgrading to 5.0.16B. I simply kept hitting the update NTP and rebooting until it stuck. This assumes there are no network / ISP related issues at hand. I wouldn't worry about it right now and you can always use the sync with P.C. if there is a large drift. The ISY Series Controller has a RTC on board so the time drift should be very little until the NTP is able to connect and update.

Did you reboot the ISY Series Controller afterwards?

I had a few moments tonight to check on this question. I can confirm exporting the NR database is possible! [emoji106] All of the NR’s are represented as individual REC files which can be opened / edited with Note Pad ++. [emoji869] In the big picture this is fine when there are one offs. This however, is extremely tedious and painful when one needs to see all the NR’s in a single pane view. [emoji1785][emoji2955] As noted early on having dozens of corrupted NR’s in the system. And not having the ability to edit multiple lines at once cost me hours of identification, corrections, and hair pulling! [emoji2959] Perhaps this could be a feature request for the next generation Polyisy?!? On a related question is there a direct method to track, declare, and associate a bad program / NR to a variable?!? As I would like to create an email alert coupled to a voice announcement via Julie U.S. The system currently has the ability to visually declare a yellow coloured program fault. Tools -> Generate Topology: This will give you the entire listing of the hardware the system has on hand. Specifically, it will call out the name, Insteon ID, Location, Type. If you have never used the *Notes* feature start now! I use this specifically to document when a piece of hardware was replaced or failed and the reason for. Or if I start to see odd behavior this area allows me track it for historic recall. I also use it to track when I replaced any batteries in the network. To use the notes right mouse click on any piece of hardware in the device tree and scroll down to *Notes*. This will open a new window where you simply enter what ever your heart desires.

Hello All, I don't recall if this question has ever been asked so will do so here. Is there a direct method to export the network resource file and edit the entries and than reload them back to the system. I had a Micro SD card corruption and found dozens of NR's which were completely broken and had junk data. In some cases a simple save process allowed the NR to be restored to working order. Whereas others the system will not allow any edits or changes to the NR. The only recourse is to delete the old NR and recreate it from scratch. With hundreds of NR's in my system this is extremely time consuming and there must be a easier method to save the NR to a note pad / excel and make edits?!?

If you have the pro version of the 994 Series Controller a huge time saver is to disable all battery writes. Doing so will allow you to update a single device when you're ready opposed to letting the system endlessly write / rewrite which extends the time to restore / swap a device. Keep in mind my reply is specifically calling out the scenario when you need to write to a large amount of battery operated devices. Another method is to use the automated process of using a control / heart beat condition to push the changes to those end devices. This process does not work consistently on all Insteon hardware but when it does it is surely a great time saver!

A few things to consider as these can be a signs: - Load: The bulb in use (CFL, LED, Florescent) may be absorbing / injecting noise on the line - Hardware: One of the first of many signs of a failing switch are buzzing, flicker, or failure to turn on-off a load or react on a timely fashion. - Programming: Another sign of a failing switch is it takes longer or simply won't accept new changes in the EEPROM.

I want you to take a few moments to read what my title states as my past profession. What does it say??? You probably won't fully understand what it means so I will spell it out for you . . . I spent more than 25 years in the security business helping the Government, military, police, hospital, fortune 100 Enterprise in their force protection elements. Your soul focus here is trying to use a home automation system and hardware from a company that focuses on lights to help secure your home??? There are four rings of security and the first portion is to identify your RISK(s) What kind of risks are you, family, home under threat of?? You don't know because you haven't taken the time to review any of the crime stats in your area / region. With respect to force protection you have secured the home physically how??? You haven't . . . But, you believe making a few programs with logic which ties to a lighting system is going to offer you some measure of security?? When was the last time you cycled the GFI breakers / outlets in your home?? I'll wager never because I know how complacent people are. When was the last time you pressed the test button on the smoke alarm and changed out the battery?? You have what grade lock set securing the front, back, side doors?? You have fortified the door jambs, door hinges, jack studs, king studs how?? Do you have a huge front door with nothing but plated windows and side lights?? When was the last time you stood outside counting cars on your street and viewing your home as to what could be seen threw the windows at night?? You haven't done any basic research about security and believe you're capable of reacting to a home invasion, smash & grab, or God forbid a fire??? Please take a few moments to unplug and ask a professional to come down to do a risk assessment and inquire how best to fortify your home *Physically* before entertaining bells and whistles which offer nothing to stop that 80 lbs soaking wet boy from kicking down your paper door.

The right tool would be a purpose built, certified, compliant, and field proven security system which is monitored by a CS. Neither Insteon, ISY Series Controller, have been designed, built, or certified to offer life and safety protection. Even the cheapest tier one alarm system offers more reliability & security which meets the insurance companies standards. Which also offer a discount on your annual insurance policy which helps the long term finance. When you're asleep or away who is coming to your aid or going to render assistance when you can't?!?

You believe Insteon is capable of offering you and the family the same level of security and protection over a purpose built system??

Humbly, invest in a real alarm system which is monitored by a reliable and trust worthy 5 diamond Central Station (CS). The only thing you achieve by this DYI is the ability to say you did it!. The most irreplaceable things like your family and pets which can't be replaced should not be protected by hardware not intended for such a task.

You have two choices which are: - Upgrade the firmware to match the UI. - Download the matching 4.7.3 UI.

Given, the big three are involved and they have each spear headed ease of use and integration it's safe that is one of the main pillars.

I'm all for standards to help unify and insure compatibility for the general public. Given ZigBee is one of the contributors perhaps this will finally get ZigBee 3.0 out!

I'm not too clear as to what this group is going to propose with respect to a *Standard*?? It won't change or help any existing protocols currently on the market such as Insteon, Z-Wave, ZigBee.

Is the black mark directly under that round black component beside the green capacitor?!? Can you take another picture showing the opposite side of that board. Normally the PCB would indicate the component from resistor, capacitor, inductor, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
