  1. Hello Fred, For a real time view its best to use the summary tab . . . The Level 3 error logs will also display more real time metrics.
  2. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/22604-what-is-live-update-and-smart-home-skill-v3/?p=221267
  3. Can you be more specific as to what isn't working? ie. I have ten lights in a scene. Only five of them turn on when the scene is activated
  4. The work around since day one has been to use the American smart application. This was coupled with listing the home using an American address. This was later fine tuned by using a web page hack which allowed the person to change that U.S.A address to a Canadian location. Doing that ensured when you requested local services the reply was geo located to your physical address. To be clear in iOS one needs to login to the American App store to download said smart application. I haven't even bothered to try the transition because everything works perfectly as is. Once the new (Canadian Dots) arrive on December 05, 2017 I will see how this new process works. I may very well enroll those new Canadian Dots using a different account in case there is some kind of limitation as there seems to be on everything Canadian!
  5. LOL . . .
  6. More specifically complete a hard reset and you can always just use *Restore Device* which doesn't lose anything. If that doesn't work complete the hard reset again and delete the device and add it back.
  7. NP, more specifically it talks about how if the Internal vs External sensor is used. I have to gather you're using the OEM internal thermister inside the unit. As a quick test bring the TSTAT to a Insteon dual band unit. Warm up the unit with what ever method you deem appropriate and report back if the ISY Series Controller reflects that change. If it doesn't you can try hard resetting it and add it back to the controller to see what happens. You have a 50/50 chance of fixing it or it remaining the same.
  8. Take a look at this thread which offers some insight as to how its supposed to behave: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/9152-how-to-monitor-water-temp-via-isy-and-catch-more-fish/page-1
  9. The ISY Series Controller will only display the reading once the TSTAT has changed its state. If its plugged in the device will report its temp more frequently vs based on XX threshold. Lastly, if you ever reboot the ISY Series Controller that state is lost each time . . .
  10. I would encourage you to wait for Black Friday as you will easily see 5~25% discount!
  11. When you restore a 2413S PLM the system will automatically try to write to all Insteon hardware in the network. The system does not write updates in order or any particular sequence. So if you have lots of battery operated hardware the system will attempt to write those updates three times. It will of course fail because it won't be able to talk to any of them until such time as you place them into programming mode. But they need to be placed into programming mode one at a time . . . With the disable battery write it takes all the battery operated devices off line and just writes to the hardwired ones. Which saves time and loss of hair on your head.
  12. The only other things you will miss out from not having the Pro is disable battery writes. You may upgrade anything at your own pace and user needs as it arises.
  13. The irony *No* vs *Yes* . . . Thanks for the laughs guys
  14. Wow ~ Beautiful church . . .
  15. The ISY Series Controller supports any camera system that has an open API to interact with via the Network Module. Viewing is solely dependent upon third party software on a computer / smartphone. That is not proprietary to the ISY Series Controller at all . . .
  16. If the wire is truly 16 AWG you will be fine to supply power to the cameras. Having said this using Foscam wouldn't be my first choice at all. If you're looking for true security, performance, and reliability you should be reviewing vendors from Axis, Avigilon, Bosch, Mobotix, Pelco, etc.
  17. You need to be using firmware 4.6.2 both UI & Firmware. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. It only makes sense to work with the resources on hand. If this is just a casual once in awhile task. A old cord and twist nuts are perfectly fine. When you're doing this sort of thing repetitively Wago or similar makes sense! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. A mix of the two as the Wago lever nuts are deceptively larger than a standard twist Marrette / Wire Nut. Depending upon the type and size of the JBOX the Wago can impact the amount of room you have in the box. I use them extensively on the bench and it should be noted one of the long time forum members Apols (sp) offered an improvement over the current test harness I use now. That is to place a switch in line so it would allow you to remove power with out the need to unplug the outlet. That is something I've done too on another test harness which really speeds up adding and removing devices when hundreds are in place.
  20. Hello Scott Avery, - ISY Firmware: Correct what the system indicates is the Insteon firmware on board of the hardware - Programs & Network Resources: You can export just those two items if you need to. - Notes: In the device tree simply right mouse click and scroll to notes. There you can enter what ever from hardware production, revision, install, etc - Patch Cable: You will simply Google for Wago 222-413 those are the 3 prong type.
  21. Hello Scott Avery, If you're committed in hard resetting the ISY Series Controller you may follow this process here: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Resetting_Your_ISY All new hardware should be hard reset per the Insteon full users manual for those specific products at hand. Assuming none of the hardware has been installed ensure you follow best practices by taking a photo of all the hardware production date, revision, location, etc. For me best practices has been to simply down load the full PDF manual for any of the products and edit that document to include all of the above including purchase date, install date, and ISY firmware indicated by the controller. Appending a small photo of the hardware location also is very helpful. All of this same information can be appended to the ISY Series Controller in the *Notes* section for a quick at a glance. Make one of these and your life and install process will be easy and seamless:
  22. After thinking about this for a moment upon reflection a hard boot should be done over a soft boot. There have been too many instances in my environment where a soft boot didn't take or was respected. This was confirmed by the fact a program that monitors and tracks the up time counter never reset along with other variables not going back to its init values. So if there is a soft boot API that's an option for some. But personal experience tells me a hard reboot is the only sure way to start from scratch. [emoji53] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I was hoping you were going to say something totally different than what I envisioned in my head when I read your initial reply. ☹️ As noted in my past reply I've taken a simpler approach and that is to leave two dedicated computer systems that don't use or respect DST. They do however have more than five NTP server & pools being checked to ensure the time is correct. I've never been a fan of trying to convert UTC to local time. If there was a reasonably cheap egg timer of sorts that could be programmed for DST which could cycle power for under $40.00 I'd be all over that! [emoji106] At the moment it looks like a dedicated computer which sends a command to the remote web switch is the expansive solution. [emoji37] EDIT: Does the ISY Series Controller support a soft reboot command? I would think having access to that portion of the API would remove that expensive remote web switch! 24. LOL ~ Tell me more of this idea you have?
  25. Nothing wrong with low tech at all. Honestly if I could find a cheap and reliable timer that could just cycle power during that DST roll back that is exactly what I would use. Since these computers are running 24.7.365 already its not costing me anymore money in terms of energy consumption. I truly envy those who don't respect the whole DST cycle in their region . . .
