Hi oktane, Unfortunately there's no way to rescan the device since ISY always assume the master configuration to have been stored in ISY. This makes synchronization much easier. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Mark, You can already do that with Mutual Exclusive buttons for buttons on the same KPL. The only thing we are talking about here is that if you have a controller, you would be able to have it selectively control the status of KPL non-load buttons. So, you might want an On to turn OFF a button. I have not been able to get this to work with our KPL versions. I am trying to figure out given the URL above, has anyone been able to accomplish this and with what version of KPLs. With kind regards, Michel

Hello drw, Excellent. Yes, please use http://www.universal-devices.com/99i ... this URL will always have the Admin Console for the official release. With kind regards, Michel

Hello drw, I think the URL which pointed to cache explains the issue. Restoring the older backup means that you will lose all the changes made to your system since then. The best option would be as follows: 1. Restore the backup from April 2. Login, go to Program Details, Right Mouse Click on My Programs and choose Export ... save it to a file of your choice 3. Restore your most recent backup 4. Go to Program Details, Right Mouse Click on My Programs, choose Import and then choose the file saved in step 2 This way, you will have the latest system configuration but with an older programs configuration. Again, I am so very sorry for the inconvenience. With kind regards, Michel

Hello drw, Got the backups and unfortunately none of them have the programs. Two questions: 1. Is your unit ISY26 or 99? 2. What URL do you use to access your ISY? With kind regards, Michel

Hi Brian, Thanks. Would you be kind enough to remove the batteries from your RL and then do a reboot on your ISY? This way, we'll be able to figure out if the problem is RL related or ISY/PLM related. Also, how often do you have you to change the battery on your RL? With kind regards, Michel

Problem with my Program or Communications Issue?
Michel Kohanim replied to Illusion's topic in ISY994
Hi Illusion, Are the SWL and KPL on the same circuit? Also, can we make the programs simpler? For instance, you do not have to check the status of the KPL before you turn it on. i.e. sending an On command to an already On device is not going to cause any problems. Furthermore, from experience, I can tell you continuously querying devices might cause communication errors. I know you added these to ensure the status is OK ... but it would be best to figure out why the status would be wrong in the first place rather than querying the KPL all the time. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello drw, Would you be kind enough to send us (support@universal-devices.com) 3 of your last backups? With kind regards, Michel

Admin Console Will Not Populate Status Field After Query
Michel Kohanim replied to btlalum's topic in ISY994
Hi Joel, Apologies for a tardy reply. The problem is that the Admin Console is not given the permission to listen to events. Two cases: 1. The applet has not been given permission to run 2. You have a firewall software which does not allow listening sockets To try the first, please do be kind enough to go to Java Control Panel: 1. Under General tab, click on Settings and then click on Delete Files 2. Under Security tab, click on Certificates, click on Universal Devices, Inc. and then click on Remove The next time you get to Admin Console, please ensure that you accept the security certificate for Universal Devices, Inc. If this does not work, please do be kind enough to call our tech support (818-631-0333) so that we can log in to your computer and see what's going on. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Brian, Very strange. Do you still have the problem now? i.e. does it show the red ! after you clicked on the button? The only time (theoretically) that you would get a ! on a RemoteLinc while not in programming is if it sends out a NACK. I can't see how that would be the case here. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Guys, Thanks so very much for the input. tbe, did the link work and allow you to set the on/off levels for the buttons? If so, then we can surely add conditional logic to enable this feature only for those KPL version that support it. The main question is whether or not any of the new KPLs actually support this feature. With kind regards, Michel

Hello drw, I am so very sorry to hear this. Please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info. Let me know what you see please. Do you have any older backups? There was a bug with some of the beta releases before 2.7.0 which did not save the programs. If you have an older backup, we can reconstruct the rest for you. With kind regards, Michel

Problem with my Program or Communications Issue?
Michel Kohanim replied to Illusion's topic in ISY994
Hi Illusion, It seems that the comm errors happen when your motion sensor is activated. Does this motion sensor control any other devices (in a scene)? Since the issue seems to revolve around when the motion sensor is activated, I would try to figure out what else may turn on at the same time. In short, we have to figure out what's causing the comm errors. With kind regards, Michel -
Admin Console Will Not Populate Status Field After Query
Michel Kohanim replied to btlalum's topic in ISY994
Hi Joel, Thanks. Would you be kind enough to try: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.6/admin.jnlp and let me know what you find. Here's what is a little strange: if you do not get status updates it also means that the heartbeat is also lost. As such, you must also be automatically logged out after about every 2 minutes. Is this the case? With kind regards, Michel -
Admin Console Will Not Populate Status Field After Query
Michel Kohanim replied to btlalum's topic in ISY994
Hello Mr. Cook, I am so very sorry to hear this. Would you be kind enough to let me know: 1. What URL do you use to access ISY? 2. Have you tried clearing your Java Cache? 3. What version of firmware do you have (Help | About) If you are not on 2.7.6, it strongly recommend upgrading: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=3007 With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Lee, I have checked this feature with both 2C and 2D and neither one work. If you have newer version, you can try: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.7/admin.jnlp With kind regards, Michel

tbe, Darrell mentioned that he had spoken to you and clarified what was going on. What you are looking for is explicitly and intentionally disabled in the GUI since older KPLs did not support changing the on level for KPL button on the link record. The theory is precisely the same as any other INSTEON device so all we have to do is to re-enable this feature in the GUI. Although I am extremely worried that this feature would cause support issues for customers with older KPLs, however if you wish - and you do not mind playing with an alpha firmware - please contact us (support@universal-devices.com) and I'll send you the firmware with the feature enabled. Please note that for same-device mutual exclusivity you must use the Mutually Exclusive button on the configuration page. With kind regards, Michel
-
TS99, thanks so very much. Apologies for the confusion. What I meant was that the INSTEON protocol does not yet support it. I just checked again with SmartHome to make sure and verified that it's not yet supported. I was told that this is a good feature and that they may work on it in the near future. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello Mr. Sullivan, Unfortunately our integration with EZxxx products is not very reliable (except for 2x4 and EZFlora). We were hoping to see Venstar thermostats with external sensors but I have not seen them yet. Above and beyond using another thermostat, I am not sure how else we can get temperature information. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi tbe, I am not sure I understand what you mean. You can add the load and non-load button of the same KPL in the same scene. Now, there will be two cases: 1. The scene is activated by a controller in the scene, in which case INSTEON protocol should guarantee the correct status (ISY is out of the picture at this point) 2. The scene is activated by ISY in which case, as #1, the correct status of the buttons should also be guaranteed The main question is: in what scenario does this not work? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi brad77, You are correct ... let me think what would be the best way to provide this functionality without undermining too much security. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi Ben, I think you should seriously consider taking the MS out of the scene. I understand your point, however - as Mike suggested - if the MS were to respond to INSTEON commands, then the battery life would've been 1/100 of what it is now. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi Ben, There would be four permutations, the way I see it: 1. When the Light is On && motion is sensed 2. When the Light is Off && motion is sensed 3. When the Light is On && motion is triggered off 4. When the Light is Off && motion is triggered off So, you can create two folders: 1. Light is On If Status Light is not Off 2. Light is Off If Status Light is Off Now, in Light is On folder add the following programs 1. Motion Sensed If Status Motion Sensor is not Off Then - whatever you like to happen 2. Motion Not Sensed If Status Motion Sensor is Off Then - whatever you like to happen Do the same for the Light is Off folder With kind regards, Miche
-
Hi Ben, You can add an AND condition to check the status of the light. Or, better yet, you can have a folder which checks the status of the light and then put your motion program in that folder. With kind regards, Michel
