  1. Replaced PLM via advice posted here - thanks. Did RF devices one at a time, and though seems like It took 2-3 tries for a number of them, they all finally worked. But I still have the green "II00" symbol over the MorningLinc lock control in the Admin Console. Clicking the "Write updates" the progress bar shows up for about 30 seconds but nothing ever happens, status of "II00" symbol doesn't change. I have the old MorningLinc unit, if that matters. I know the MorningLinc unit is linked to the lock itself, but that hasn't changed - only a new PLM, which I assume only communicates with the Morninglinc module itself, and not the actual lock. Any ideas? Thanks!
  2. Thank you - appreciate the .pdf and additional explanation.
  3. Thanks!! I assume nothing has changed regarding this process in the 11 years since this was posted? That was a concern, given I'm on the beta / 5.0 etc... ISY FW.
  4. Want to make sure I don't screw this up - my PLM (2413s) was fried by storm - totally dead. I've had this same PLM for about 10 years I think, been fine until now so I've never had to do this. Have another on the way, but want to make sure I go about replacing it via the Admin Console the right way, so links to old PLM get wiped, and all those same links are properly written to the new PLM and I have no other issues. Do I "Restore PLM" first or "Delete PLM" first? Any guidance would be appreciated!
  5. Thanks - interesting...
  6. It would need to read pressure. What are those solution, just out of curiosity? Thanks
  7. May be a little involved - don't want to extend beyond use of my Windows server into Rpi devices etc... Thanks for the blueprint for doing it, however.
  8. As little as possible - can infer water pressure from other data at no / low cost, so probably wouldn't want to spend over $150 or so. Thanks
  9. Wondering if anybody has a fairly simple solution to getting water pressure data into the ISY ? I'm using 5.xx on my ISY, and would like to get some info on my well / pump status into the ISY somehow. Thanks for any help.
  10. ISY finder doesn't pick it up either. Router shows it in IP list. I have an app running on a server ("Venlink") that allows ISY to communicate with thermostats - this is unable to work also. Sometimes (1 in 20 attempts maybe) you can get Admin Console to come up. Same with web-ajax access. Same issue on multiple machines. All access is on same LAN. Reset all switches / router / on network, reset PC, reset ISY multiple times. Reseated micro sd card, let it sit a few minutes unpowered. Worked the first time, then no go after that. Things seem to work normally if you can access it. Any ideas? I'm afraid it might be dead or dying. EDIT: Solved. Router has developed a bad port. Intermittent issue. Lovely...
  11. Awesome - thank you. Didn't see it in there!
  12. Great resource! Thanks for putting it together. Didn't see a way to enable "Color Loop" or other specialty type modes? Can this be done by a Scene? New to Hue so any input would be appreciated - Thanks!
  13. Those devices and scenes you posted in the screen grab are some of the same ones I've got showing... Just noticed my devices aren't working either as you stated!! ?!?
  14. As title states, I just spent some time adding numerous programs to my ISY portal, which went normally, and when I went to the Alexa Smarthome page to "Discover Devices" in order for them to be ready for use by Alexa, they didn't show up on the "found devices" list. Some new ones showed up all right, but they were somebody else's ! French and English names, about 15 or 18 scenes and programs that are not mine. Plus, the programs that WERE mine, that I just added to the ISY portal, (and still show there, as expected) did NOT show up on my alexa Discovered devices list. All my older stuff was still there. Deleted all the bogus scenes / programs, logged out of ISY portal and Amazon Alexa page. Logged back in and tried again - same thing. WTH?? Anybody have any clue what could be going on? All normal until tonight and this.... Thanks
  15. Hmmm.... I'll need to read and re-read that one a few times! Thanks for posting. I'm going to pull this out when I have some time to sit down and work on it. Impressive!
  16. NR = Network resources Thanks for the info - that's definitely good to know. That's one of those things where you'd end up spending a lot of time trying to figure out what was wrong... Thanks for saving others that time. How are you setting the variables you are sending? Love to know some tricks and basic programming techniques you are using!
  17. When you say "convert the data", does it "translate" programming syntax or what? Will everything work? Thanks for the info.
  18. Haven't decide to take the plunge on 5.x yet as my 4.x system is pretty reliable. But after writing a slew of NRs to control HUE bulbs, I'm thinking maybe I should. Also have Venstar TStats and some other stuff that relies heavily on kludgy servers and NRs to work (but it pretty much works well, so I hate to rock the boat). Thinking of buying another ISY to load 5.X on, restoring my current backup, and switching the units. Would this work? If 5.x is just to much for me or it causes issues can I just unplug that ISY and plug the "old" one back in? Will my 4.x programs all work properly? Would I need to re-purchase modules and portals etc... again for the other ISY also? There is probably more to it than I'm thinking. Maybe the latest 5.x version is stable enough? I'm not at all an advanced user, but as mentioned do have some fringe type items connected and don't know where 5.x is still buggy. Basically use lots of Insteon, hardly any Zwave, a number of Venstar TStats (with Venlink server running on a PC) and an ELK M1. That's pretty much it. I know this isn't the specific 5.x area but any general thoughts on the topic would be appreciated.
  19. Just picked up some Hue bulbs for my kids' rooms and cobbled together an assortment of network resources to control them with ISY and without having to loop through IFTTT. Actually works pretty well, while preserving the "normal" operation of their lamps like before. Haven't figured out how to activate color loop or the flash mode, and probably other options as well. Only set up brightness levels, colors, etc... Thanks for any direction!
  20. Thanks for suggestions. I know I'd primarily copied the whole resource and changed the pertinent stuff in the past (as pointed out) but thought I'd been able to copy / paste. Using the old keyboard shortcuts didn't occur to me (but should have!). Just wanted to make sure I hadn't totally lost it. Thanks for the info!
  21. Haven't updated or changed any of my network resources (or anything other than simple ISY stuff) lately, but now can't paste anything into Network resources. Is this normal? I don't remember this issue and I've got lots of network resources I set up previously. Need to do some Philips Hue Network Resources and they involve long ID numbers and such. Windows machine, obviously operating on the Admin Console. Right-clicking does nothing. Rebooted PC etc.... but no change. Maybe I'm just getting old and it never would allow copy / paste? Thanks for any insight.
  22. So to make this happen from a program, you need to make another scene, place the device you want to brighten to a set level in it, and call this scene from the program? What would you put in the program to do this (ramp)? I was thinking ramp rate was only for local control - ie not a program, but actually pushing a button. Thanks
  23. Thanks - thought I may be missing something.
  24. Have several programs that fade down (fade down to 0%) instead of turning off, but was wondering if there is any way, using a program, to fade up to a certain brightness level? Obviously you can use "fade up" to go to 100%, but wanted to know if specific levels were possible with "fade up". Thanks!
  25. As far as I know, my new myQ units won't work with a dry contact button period - not even when you don't have a fancy button involved. I tried it. I just ended up using the big fancy buttons that came with it (figured out a way to mount them on the wall that doesn't look too bad and fits in the space). I didn't have ISY control of my doors before though, and still don't - only through myQ - so I'll have to solder to a wireless remote unless somebody above my pay grade figures out how to make the ISY talk to the myQ bridge box. That would be ideal since it knows the current status etc... and maybe you could access the lights in the GDO as devices also.
