If I purchase the Polisy and add the wifi & bluetooth is it exactly the same as the Polisy Pro?

@Michel Kohanim Other than purchasing the POLISY, are there any show term alternatives till PGC is back? I seemed to recall a guide on running the node server on a RPI but cant find it now. TIA Ron

I get the same error 3 trying to add a secondary controller to my ISY ZWave network. I have the units on top of each other, so its not the distance. I am running 5.3.3. Any ideas greatly appreciated

I have tried multiple time to add my DMP ZWave controller to my ISY Network. I have literally placed to two controllers on top of each other, but it always fails with the ERROR 3 as show in the log. Any help would be appreciated. ISY994 running 5.3.3 with new ZWave dongle. I am confused about which link to use? I have 1 994i that has no Zwave at all, and 1 994i -ZW. It looks from the decsription that I could use either link for the ISY 994i ZW?

Ive been using Insteon since it’s inception. I’ve also used ZWave for A number of years, but in a limited fashion. I’m familiar with the fact that things need to be included in excluded from the network and typically you have a single controller. I guess what I’m really looking to understand, is is it possible to have the ISY as a secondary controller that can activate routines based on the occurrence of a Z wave event. I have close to 40 and stay on devices, but I do have A Zwave lock that is integrated with my alarm system controller that I would like to be able to use to trigger routines like perhaps on a keypad unlock event. Just picked up a second ISY. This one is a 994i ZW. How do I determine which 5.3 firmware to use, and also if my Zwave portion will be compatible or I must upgrade it? Ron

Even using multiple values is an issue if the value changes more that once in 30 seconds. Using multiple variables get around this. However if you trip the motions/variables to close to each other Alexa will truncate one message to start the next. There is no real queueing

@TexMike Thank you, that is an interesting approach. The only draw back to using one variable, is that you must wait a minimum of 30 seconds before changing the variable value, or Alexa misses the change. Apparently Amazon requires/recommends a 30 second debounce between recognizing state changes.

When I create Alexa routines i only get a choice of motion detected or not detected. Where are you specifying different Values?

Michel, I contacted Dhawal at smartenit and he was very helpful. In order to have the EZIOxxx send commands when the input state changes there are a few things that have to be done. Firstly the links must be created. (We know this works). Secondly, the EZIO must be told what to do when the input changes. This involves telling it the group as well as the commands to be sent. From the PLM trace, I was able to see that my setup was using groups 9 and 10 for input 1 & 2 respectively. I was then able to use the smartenit utility to tell the EZIO2x4 to send CMD 11 0 on the OFF to ON transition and CMD 13 0 on the ON to OFF command. Seems like a lot of work for something that should be intuitive, but I guess that is the cost of flexibility. Dhawal did promise a write up that I could forward to you, and if I receive it I will forward it.

After hours of testing I determined it was a communication error. I resolved that issue and was able to successfully link the EZIO2x4 to my ISY. However I am not being notified when the inputs change unless I do a query. This was a problem years ago and I thiought it was fixed ? Just purchased a nex EZIO2x4 . I have tried all 3 methods of linking. MY PLM and EZIO are plugged into the same circuit less than 1 foot from each other Device appears, but no links get added device is marked with red exclamation. I have a program that dims the dining room lights, Starts romantic music playing on my sonos, and lights the electric candles. I named the program "My Wife" So now I say "Alexa turn on my wife" But it doesnt work!

All, The connected home feature is working fabulous.. I wanted to post a few tips i've discovered in my testing, If they already appear in the previous 8 pages I apologize. During my setup, i changes device names a number of time, and along the way I started having major voice recognition problems. When I looked at the Alexa App, I noticed that Some of the previous names I had used were showing up as offline devices. This was easily corrected by deleting all devices from the Alexa App and redoing discovery. After performing a "Replace module with..." in the ISY, I was not able to control the device from Alexa, I would get the response that "that command is not valid for device Den". I deleted the device in the Alexa App, Rediscovered, and still no luck. I then noticed in the portal, that the device address was not updated in my spoken command. I deleted the spoken command, re added it in the portal, re discovered, and all worked. Ron

TunaMan, what are you using to change channels??? Ron

From my experience, i can tell you that in general the echo is more forgiving when you say open SkillSet, because open is a "Keyword" it knows the next thing is the name of the Skill... As far as getting it to work, I would suggest doing the echo voice training also try saying is slightly different, for instance I can say "Alexe tell is he to turn on the kitchen light", as well as "Alexa tell izzy to turn on the kitchen light" and both work fine. Try disabling other skills that you have enabled And for best results use the connected home option which it incredibly accurate. Ron
