    myQ Integration

Reinforcing what @Goose66 said above. I recently added MyQ and due to the long polling periods, I found I could not use the "state" of the door as a trigger in a program w/o strange / unwanted results. I am sure one could program around it with delays and multiple disabled programs etc, but luckily I have wired sensors to my elk for state of the door. Otherwise, the open / close commands work well. I used to use an elk output to "short across" an extra garage door transmitter that I soldered wires to. But it wasn't 100% reliable for some reason: ISY to Elk NS to output to transmitter to garage door opener.... So I have now switched my programming so that if the MyQ NS is online, then use it, otherwise, use the Elk output as I havent physically uninstalled it. This way if the Internet is down or the NS goes down, I have a "local" solution that will work. Generally I wold recommend the MyQ NS though. Havent had any issues with it.
  2. @Jimbo.Automates Hi Jim, I have restarted a few times, also stopped, and started a few times, upgrade isnt happening. Am nervous to do a uninstall, reinstall same slot as the Elk is by far the most integrated and used NS throughout my programs. Thoughts? thanks.
  3. Interesting because I started this thread, but it is working for me now on5.5.2. I dont remember what I did to get it going again.
  4. @brians see this post. I was able to somehow "trick" UD mobile into being a toggle switch. Read down a few posts to my final solution that is working perfectly
  5. Read through the below post, now closed. One quick question, if the NS cant control the size of the output, can it control the number or width of the columns? there is plenty of room to make this NS show as 4 or maybe even 5 columns, which would then allow all the data to be shown before it runs off the bottom. An obvious question which you have probably thought through, but I didnt see it covered in the post, so thought I would ask. Thanks! sorry to hear people are having trouble with Eisy NS like this one.
  6. I only have 3 battery devices, all locks and they went fine. But I understand others are having difficulty with other battery devices and UDI is working on it.
  7. With all the multitude of posts / threads and variations of conversions going on, I thought I would try to capture my experience in the above conversion. I am by no means an expert, and your conversion needs may be very different than mine, but having drawn on so many other people’s experience on the forums and having a very successful conversion, I thought I would share my steps and learnings. Here is what is did and what I learned: Backup up key items: IoX Backup Programs folder, copy to clipboard and paste into text editor A screenshot of all my zwave devices by going to MyLighting and sorting by type and then finding all Z related nodes Resources export Screen shot of IP addresses from Config menu 2) In AC, clicked on upgrade packages Nothing happened. Light on Polisy stayed steady. 3) Followed this post by Michel K to SSH into Polisy and performed STEP 2 only. sudo pkg install -r udi pkg sudo /usr/local/etc/udx.d/static/udxops.sh upgrade.polisy 4) Lots of activity after the above, but upon the recommendation of @Geddy, I ran the above commands TWICE. There was further activity the second time. So something got cleaned up. 5) Opened the AC it showed BUSY for about 30 minutes. But then stopped and all was working on 5.5.2 with the exception of my node servers on PG3. Had to open PG3 and manually restart them all. Am still using the Zoos dongle at this point. 6) Once I determined things were operating as expected, I re-performed my backups to have this next increment before I migrated the Z-wave. 7) Within the AC, I now clicked on the Migrate z-wave button and followed the directions that popped up EXACTLY. Read closely. The only exception is that I had previously installed the zmatter board, so I skipped that step. Once the Polisy was showing a steady light and several beeps occurred, and after I cleared my Java cache, I re-opened the AC and found that my password wasn’t working as it took THREE attempts for it to open (w/o typos) and nothing was there. Thought it was Bricked. However learned from @jjc60631 that this process somehow reset my username / password back to admin / admin. With admin / admin, I was back in, however the BUSY started and kept repeating. This went on for a very long time, so I then within the AC, I clicked on Restart IoX under the Config menu. 9) After several beeps and 10-15 minutes I signed back in under admin / admin and was rewarded with a much shorter busy of about 10 minutes and everything was there, except for node servers, because the username / password of IoX did not match PG3s info. Changed my username / password back to original and with 5 minutes all my NSs restored. 10) All of my z-wave devices had been converted along with lots of new / additional sub nodes that were all scattered everywhere. To better understand everything, I then went to every zwave node and right clicked / Group devices. This organized back to a way I could understand them. 11) Upon inspection about ½ of my zwave devices were labeled as “Placeholder” in the center of the top main screen when selected. (See below after updating) 12) Went to each Node that had placeholder and right clicked and selected Zwave/synchronize / Update with interview. This fixed them all. Am aware there are problems with certain zwave devices, but I must not have any of those as I have no problems at all. Communication with them all is greatly improved. 13) Some additional learnings / cleanup: All Zwave scenes and programs for zwave devices stayed intact! VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! However, Amazon links that had zwave devices all have to be redone in the Portal, deleted from Alexa app, rediscovered and then any routines in Alexa redone...... (PIA) UD mobile zwave links all break. I "synchronized" the app, but then all my favorites where I had customized displays, colors and words, all disappeared and need to be recreated. .. (PIA) Programs with locks all needed fixing as the new Zwave device nodes changed considerably requiring different IF's and THEN choices to affect the original program. All programs with z-wave devices should be checked. Resources with references to Zwave devices also need updating to address the new node definition.
  8. Ok thanks. I dont have one yet. But have newbie neighbor who is just getting started with HA, and he is looking for a thermostat plus motion sensors plus temp/ humidity sensors for some beehives 300' from his house and I stumbled upon others recommending YoLink products so may encourage him to go with them. I am using two ~12 year old honeywelll zwave thermostats that i suspect will fail at some point, so was thinking about that as well. Will let you know. Thanks!
  9. Hi, am looking to possible add YoLink products to my install and am wondering if this list is up to date? And if so, is there any plan to add thermostats? Thanks 'Switch', 'THSensor', 'MultiOutlet', 'DoorSensor','Manipulator', 'MotionSensor', 'Outlet', 'GarageDoor', 'LeakSensor', 'Hub', 'SpeakerHub', 'VibrationSensor', 'Finger', 'Lock', 'Dimmer', 'InfraredRemoter',
  10. @PhoneGuy Had similar issue. .see my posts (4) that start with the above in the same thread, just keep scrolling down and you will see my experience.
  11. Hmm. interesting. I am using the serial to ethernet adapter that came with my PLM (or did it come with the ISY?) and a standard ethernet cord from there to my basement (from the second floor) to the PLM, plugged in a direct AC line to my breaker box 5' away. Works fine. Is it the adapter you need? (for a beer at shorts pull barn I may have an extra one I can give you 😀.)
  12. @vbphil So many minor details that can go wrong. I also installed the zmatter board in mid December when I received it but just did the conversions. Followed the directions in the AC that popped up after I clicked on migrate. Just skipped the install part because it was already done. So NO, I did not unplug the board in the process.
  13. @xgfreon if you look at this thread, starting with my post here You will see that I have a total of 4 posts and have had 100% success getting everything to work. But there were clearly several "tricks" that I had to do.
  14. @jhoulihan one last step to the above advice (which you are probably aware of, but just in case) after you have “added” the different paths to the Finder, hit save. It will create a file that you can save somewhere convenient such that if the finder opens up empty, you can “Load” this file without having to retype all the addresses my finder (mac with polisy) often opens empty but with one click I am up and running good luck
  15. I have three door locks. They all needed to be "interview" manually (went to each device, and selected Zwave/syncronize/ Update with interview) and they all came back working perfectly. Not sure about other types of battery devices though
  16. Home Automation (HA) is a complex subject and an even more complex thing to accomplish. In many people's mind, HA is simply advanced remote control --> "Alex turn on the light". True HA though is where for example, the lights come on as you walk in your bathroom at the right lighting level for the time of day; bright in the morning, and very dim at 3am and much much more. However, achieving this through the years has been complicated. Universal Devices, many years ago, developed one of, if not, the MOST robust hardware and software packages that has ever been available, the ISY. It is dependable, solid, extremely powerful and has very few real life limits. It originally worked primarily with Insteon based products, Zwave products and Zigbee products. Add- on modules allowed for an ELK security system to be natively integrated as well. But again, it was complicated, and there were limits in terms of what products / technologies could be accessed and managed from one controller. Then Alexa (and Google Home) came along. UDI was quick to develop a 2-way integration such that Alexa could now control devices and programs in ISY, and the ISY could control other devices that only integrated with Alexa. The world of HA began to explode to where it is today; infinite devices available using wifi, bluetooth, z-wave and zigbee. Integration of these proliferating devices again became the weakspot of the industry. Users need a new app for each new company's devices: Ecobee, TP-Link/ Kasa, Honeywell, Tesla, Phillips Hues, Roomba, Sonos, Russound, MyQ garage, etc etc etc. But again, this mostly lead to "remote control" vs HA. Some of these apps, now allow for very basic routines or programs to be developed. Nothing though compared to what the ISY is capable of and has been doing for years. UDI to the rescue again!. With their foresight and great skills, they developed, something called the Polisy and Polyglots or node servers. These third party written programs, allow these other companies products to become natively installed into the ISY architecture for control and programming. WOW. The HA world just got that much simpler, but it still isn't for the faint of heart, just yet. But that is where UDI is again is at the forefront. With the impending emergence of a new universal technology platform called Matter, UDI has developed a new piece of hardware called the Eisy, for Easy ISY. Matter has been developed in conjunction with most all major home automation device manufacturers such that the ability to integrate and talk together will be simplified and unified. By developing Eisy, UDI has brought their many many years of rock solid products in a combination offering that allows for the ISY to work with Insteon, Zigbee, Z-wave, the multitude of Node Servers, Alexa, Google Home and now Matter compliant devices! If you are wondering where to go with HA, you should look no farther than the Eisy. Is it brand new? Yes. does it have some growing pains yet to resolve? A few. Are matter devices available yet? No not really. So by the time they are available, UDI, at the forefront, will have another rock solid offering to provide the maximum control of your Smart Home with both computer interfaces as well as a very powerful phone app. UDI's expertise, along with their responsiveness to customer care, combined with this forum, where there are many many experts willing to help and pitch in, provides, in my opinion, the BEST OVERALL HOME AUTOMATION experience possible, for now and the future. As user for 15+ years, I can truly attest @Michel Kohanim and his team are simply the BEST. Good luck! (if you are a new user or potential user, feel free to reach out to me via DM if you would like to discuss further)

  17. MORE LEARNINGS from my 5.5.2 upgrade and zwave migration from zoos to zmatter board. 1) All Zwave scenes and programs for zwave devices stayed intact! VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! 2) However, Amazon links that had zwave devices all have to be redone in the Portal, deleted from Alexa app, rediscovered and then any routines in Alexa redone...... (PIA) 3) UD mobile zwave links all break. I "synchronized" the app, but then all my favorites where I had customized displays, colors and words, all disappeared and need to be recreated. .. (PIA) UPDATE: another learning 4) programs with locks all needed fixing as the new Zwave device nodes changed considerably requiring different IF's and THEN choices to affect the original program
  18. Here is an example, of three.
  19. Or you can change the SPAN from default to 2 or 3. See my example below for security. UD mobile is extremely powerful once you figure it out. you can have your own custom names for displays, you can have one device be the display, but a program or other device be the action when pressed. very versatile.
  20. Update...busy went on too long, kept repeating the progress bar. Changed password back to original and hit restart IoX from the AC. No NS connected as expected due to password issue. This time it loaded within10 minutes. Couldn't make sense out of all the "new" nodes so went through adn "grouped" all zwave devices. All NS came back on as well! Then found about ½ of my (limited) zwave devices were in "placeholder" mode as described in their title. So I went to each device, and selected Zwave/syncronize/ Update with interview. They are all now back in place and working! Next on to a few scenes and programs. Thanks for all the "early early adopters!" and their input.
  21. WOW..I have been following most of the posts and followed the directions and NEVER saw that password would get reset. I am in and it's busy, but in a positive way, with all devices listed. Will see where it goes from here. thanks!!
  22. Z-WAVE MIGRATION FAILURE, Polisy zmatter: After reasonable stability on 5.5.2, I did pressed the zwave migration button. Followed directions to move from zoos to zmatter. Each time I try to log into AC, it takes me 3 tries with username/psswrd (no typos!), then everything is BUSY. Nothing shows up in AC. However via the portal, I can open the "web access" and see all my devices, but while they appear to be responsive, nothing happens. I can also see all my zwave devices listed now as ZY devices. I have cleared java, reloaded AC, unplugged as many of the zwave devices I could except for door locks and 2 thermostats. Restarted Polisy many times. Busy status has now been there for 2 hours. ANY SUGGESTIONS TO UNBRICK MY POLISY?
  23. No but I will crack a window so I can hear them better! we should meet at shorts sometime!
  24. Open a ticket before you give up.
  25. Have reinstalled it, stopped and started it several times. Running V1.08 Log shows: 2023-01-03 15:05:05 info: NS: Starting Node Server 2023-01-03 15:05:05 info: POLY: Interface starting 2023-01-03 15:05:05 info: POLY: Getting config from environment 2023-01-03 15:05:06 error: POLY: MQTT Error: Connection refused: Identifier rejected
