  1. Thanks for your help Lee! I'll open a ticket.
  2. I just performed a 3rd factory reset like this... Factory Reset 1) Open INSTEON Wireless Thermostat and remove a battery 2) Wait 10 seconds 3) While pressing and holding the Set button, reinsert the removed battery. Do not let go of Set button. Device will blink all segments and emit a long beep for about 10 seconds I tried linking using "New Insteon Device" with event viewer open and got the following events... 6. I'd like to set up an e-mail notification so that I get an e-mail of the ET, water def and irrigation req't. What time doe the ISY show yesterday's ET and yesterday's water def? Is it midnight? If so should I get the notification sent an 12:01 AM? Thanks!
  7. When I try to add the device using "new Insteon device" I get an error saying "Can't determine device type". Both of my Stats are V1.3 and both are acting up. My original stat was v1.0 and work perfectly but since it was on my deck and out of design conditions it eventually failed (as expected). Thanks for your help Lee. Please hang with me to figure this out
  8. 4.0.3. Is your 2441ZTH v1.3?
  9. I just noticed Stat #2 was added as a TH instead of a ZTH. The problem is under "Add New Insteon Device" a ZTH isn't listed and when I do auto discover I get an error that reads "Can't determine device type". If I just click "start linking" it adds the ZTH as 5 Controlincs. So I deleted Stat #2 but I can't add it without it being recognized as 5 Controlincs. Not sure if the same problem is effecting both devices or what. Any ideas?

  12. I had a wireless stat 2441ZTH version 1.0 running on batteries. It was on my deck and synced perfectly to my ISY for months. Then all of a sudden it stopped sending the temperature info to the ISY. It continued to send the humidity but not temp. I could delete the device and add it again very easily so it didn't appear to be a communication problem. I thought since it had been on my deck in out of design conditions it was the stat. Then I ordered a new stat and it's doing the same thing. It's version 1.3 and I'm running ISY version 4.0.3. It seems to be consistently communicating well (max hops 3 hops left consistently =1). The humidity syncs great and I can delete and add it back with no problems. I can even hold the set button and perform a query insteon engine, write to device and a plain query. When I do that the humidly syncs but not the temp. I tried to run it on the adapter (no batts) and I did get the temp to show up when I add the device but it doesn't change on the ISY. So the initial temp ie. 72F stays at 72F even if the temp changes to 73F. I kept this setup all night, thinking if I give it some time, it will work. When I got up this morning and opened the admin console, the temp wasn't there, only the humidity. The other weird thing is with the adapter, the humidity constantly changes all over the place. How can I get the temp to show on the ISY and work properly? Thanks for your help!

How much will be subtracted from my irrigation requirement? 1.0"?, 0.4"?, 0.2"? -If my irrigation system runs and delivers 0.5" but only 0.2" is subtracted off the irrigation requirement, what happens to the other 0.3"? Is it assumed to runoff, evaporate or what? -Is there a way to utilize 2 irrigation modules, one for the front and one for the back yard? My front yard is about 20% absorption and the back is about 80%. Is there a way to split these up? ie. have the front set to one absorption rate, irrigation rate, irrigation zones, etc. and the back on another? Thanks again!
  18. I'm no expert but I think I would use one program for starters... If 6AM to 8AM Then Scene Pump is on Else Scene Pump is off The other thing that would help is to copy the actual program and paste it here like this http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=5764 Hope this helps!
  19. Good info but please keep in mind that 20% light does not equate to 20% power consumption. With the right correction factor in Excel you could still get a rough idea of how much power is being used though.
  20. Does the allowable deletion = 0.2" mean that when the irrigation requirement is 0.5" thus making my irrigation system run, that 0.5" of water will only subtract off 0.2" from the irrigation requirement? Will the irrigation system run daily until the irrigation requirement is below 0.5"? Thanks in advance!
  21. I'm thinking you could do this with a variable and a program. ie. Power Program If switch status is on then i.Power.Variable +1 wait 1 minute run then Power Program else This program would make it such that the number assigned to the i.Power.Variable would indicate to you how many minutes the switch has been on.
  22. I think becoming unsynced is inevitable. I wonder if it would be a good idea to have a keypad button or something to indicate Bristol status, so that you could manually correct when needed. Alternatively, why keep track of dog in or out? Why not simplify things, and use a combination of door and motion sensor exclusively, such as: if from sunset to sunrise (next day) and ( elk zone 'back door' is violated or control deck motion sensor is turned on ) then set scene back lights on wait xx minutes set scene back lights off else if you need a way to manually control the lights and override the motion/door program, add a status program such as: if control deck lights is switched on and control deck lights is not switched off then else Add this program status to the first program: if from sunset to sunrise (next day) and status 'status program' is false and ( elk zone 'back door' is violated or control deck motion sensor is turned on ) .... finally, I think you will have to create a third program to turn the lights off at sunrise, for the (hopefully rare) case when you are taking the dog out within xx minutes of sunrise. if time is sunrise then turn off deck scene I am sure I don't have all the syntax correct, but maybe there are some ideas in there you could use. Thanks for your time and suggestions! I'll try some of your ideas! Thanks again!
  23. I have a few questions regarding the Irrigation module. -How do I know if I live on the coastal plains or interior plains? -The water applied per cycle is ~0.50" which sets my allowable depletion to 0.2". Does this mean when the Irrigation requirement is 0.2" or more, my irrigation system will run? -I have the following program... If Time is Sunrise - 4 hours And Module 'Climate' Irrigation Requirement > 0.5 inches And Module 'Climate' Temperature > 34 °F Then Run Program 'Sprinkler Run 3' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If this program calls for the irrigation system to run when the irrigation requirement is >0.50" then how does the allowable depletion come into play? Thanks! I'm trying to understand this so I can get it going smoothly.
  24. Those are outstanding questions! I have some of the same concerns and I'm hoping to program my way out of those problem areas. -I'm very confident that the motion will get violated (turned on) when the dog and I walk out the back door. -I don't think that part will fail and it's really no concern. -I set the bristol variable to 0 after 5 minutes in the 2nd program in case the 3rd program doesn't get used. I may change this like you suggest and see what happens/test it. -I plan to adjust the time to cover 99% of the durations...maybe 10 minutes. -My main concern is the door and program getting out of sync. For example, if my dog and I walk out the back door onto the screened in deck and I let him out of the screened in deck via the screen door and while I'm waiting, my wife walks out the back door and onto the deck. In that scenario the light would turn off while we are on the deck and would be very annoying. These kind of problems are what I'm concerned about. With that said, my wife and I are the only ones that live here and these programs turn off if we have company. -If Bristol goes out before sunset then comes back in after sunset, it shouldn't be a problem. He is only out for about 5 minutes at a time to go potty. We walk him daily for exercise and we have no fence in our yard so when he goes out after sunset in the backyard, he is only out for a few minutes. Any suggestions on how to improve the programs to avoid some concerns about the door becoming unsyced? Thanks!
  25. When I let my dog out, he and I walk out the back door into the screened in deck and let him out the screened door on the deck which is about 10 ft away from the back door of the house. Currently my deck and backyard flood lights turn on after sunset and when the back door sensor is violated. The light stays on for 5 minutes then turns off. I'm trying to get the light to also turn off when we come back in the house. So far I have these programs. Elk-Back CFLs and Deck Lights1 If Status 'Deck Motion-Sensor' is Off And Elk Zone 'Back Door' is Violated And Status 'Deck Lights' is Off And $i.Let.Bristol.Out is 0 And From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) Then Run Program 'Elk-Back CFLs and Deck Lights2' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Elk-Back CFLs and Deck Lights2 If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set Scene 'Back Lights' Fast On Wait 10 seconds $i.Let.Bristol.Out = 1 Wait 5 minutes Set Scene 'Back Lights' Fast Off $i.Let.Bristol.Out = 0 Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Elk-Back CFLs and Deck Lights3 If Status 'Deck Motion-Sensor' is On And Elk Zone 'Back Door' is Violated And $i.Let.Bristol.Out is 1 And From Sunset To Sunrise (next day) Then Set Scene 'Back Lights' Fast Off $i.Let.Bristol.Out = 0 Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') The problem is sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does. I don't want it to run if I have manually turned the lights on before I walk out the back door via the wall switch (switchlinc). Please proofread my programs and let me know how they could be improved. I'm not sure how to remove the issue of the lights being turned off during the 5 minute wait which wouldn't allow the variable to change back to 0. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!
