Yeah a floor stat would be better than indoor temp stat for sure. Good luck!
-
Glad it has helped someone!

You could easily write a program to turn the heated floors on at a set indoor temp with the ISY compatible stats.

Why not use a Davis Weather station and upload the info to weatherbug. From weatherbug everything can be integrated to the ISY. See this thread... http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=10176

Would this help you... http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=9833

I love my Elk for this. You could set it such that when the Elk is armed away the ouletlinc switches to off.

This is the way I do it... If $s.Random.Lights is 1 Then Set 'Insteon Bulb 1' 50% Wait 10 minutes (Random) Set 'Insteon Bulb 1' Fast Off Wait 10 minutes (Random) Set 'Insteon Bulb 2' 50% Wait 10 minutes (Random) Set 'Insteon Bulb 2' Fast Off Wait 10 minutes (Random) Set 'Upstairs CFL Lamp' 50% Wait 10 minutes (Random) Set 'Upstairs CFL Lamp' Fast Off Wait 10 minutes (Random) Run Program 'Random Lights2' (Then Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Random lights changes to 1 when the Elk is armed away and between sunset and sunrise. All those bulbs are LEDs or CFLs.

Yeah I bet all locks can be picked but this one seems particularly easy and no special tools required. Just 10 seconds...wow. It would be nice if they were a little more secure than that. Hell it's not much better than no lock at all
-
Right, but the zwave Kwikset locks are also "smart" so the key could be changed anytime. I actually used that feature on my zwave Kwikset lock so I didn't have to change keys. So the method in the video would open our locks as well.
-
Anyone else concerned about these Z-Wave Kwikset locks being picked so easy?

Hey, I'm about to buy the dongle. I would like to just place one order so is the Zwave antenna required? If so I'll order it with the dongle. Thanks!
-
Well...Z-Wave is still in Beta.' If you are willing to take a chance then go for it. More than likely, it will work in some shape or form. You may need 1 or more repeaters, you may need an external antenna, you may need none of the above. YMMV as they say... If you want everything to be laid out perfectly right out of the box and absolutely have to have a perfect installation then maybe it's better to wait for the first non beta release. For what it's worth, I followed the forums a bit and followed the Wiki documentation and everything went perfectly with my door lock. My detached garage lock is not currently working possibly due to a range issue, I'm OK with that. There is still the keypad on the lock to get me in. Thanks! Glad it worked for you. I know these guys are working hard to get it figured out. I may install the door lock and see what happens. I may get to that this weekend. If I have a range issue or some other issue I could then wait on the non-beta release and try again then...no big deal.

I have read the instructions but others are saying they need external antennas and repeaters. Not sure what to think at this point. I really don't want several wall warts (repeaters) for a 20ft range. I may wait until everything gets ironed out with the z-wave door locks. I don't want to spend a few hundred bucks for a lock and other equip that doesn't work. On the other hand, I'm dying to get this, lol! Are the issues with this pretty much ironed out at this point? Is it a big hassle to get it working? Thanks!

I would love to use this Z-Wave door lock on my door leading from my house into the garage. http://www.amazon.com/Kwikset-Contemporary-SmartCode-Electronic-featuring/dp/B004UHJA5U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1389811921&sr=8-3&keywords=kwikset+zwave Before I buy everything to make this work, I want to make sure it is possible and reliable. Once I install the latest firmware (4.1.2) and have the lock in hand, what else would I need to purchase? I know I would need the lock, Z-Wave module, and dongle. That is a lot to purchase so I'm trying to determine ahead of time if the view is worth the climb. The lock would be about 20 feet away in a straight line and would go from a 2nd floor closet (where the ISY is located) to the first floor where the door is located. So essentially it needs to go through one floor and a total distance of 20 ft. What else would I need to purchase? After reading some of the other Z-Wave threads I'm thinking about waiting until the Z-Wave/ISY integration is ironed out. On the other hand if there's not much to it, I'd love to give it a try. Thansk for the help!

I will soon be working out of town. If I bring my laptop (that I normally use to access the admin console and make program changes) with me. Will I be able to access the admin console since I will not be on my LAN? Thanks!

Mine is working now too Sent using my Galaxy S4 and Tapatalk!

Thanks guys!

They are having an outage. For some reason my weatherbug page still shows my correct and current info as it always does during their outages. Not sure why but their outages does not effect my station. So my station shows up on the weatherbug page but in the ISY I get all zeros.
-
Also, if I change to a non-backyard station the ISY is able to get the values. So normal weather stations are coming in great but my personal weather station values aren't. I have been using my weather station for a long time now so not sure why the sudden change. Also it's not on weatherbug's end since my weatherbug website is showing accurate info. Hope this helps! Thanks!

For some reason the ISY isn't getting the weather info from my backyard weatherbug station. Any ideas on how to fix this? My weatherbug station is reporting accurately but I have all zeros on my climate module page. Thanks!

Just wanted to update this thread. All 3 stats have been working perfectly and sending temp info to the ISY while on battery power only for well over a week. The tech guys at SH says this is impossible...my stats say otherwise
-
After fooling around with it just now it is working. I had to "Load" the url in the ISY finder. It's working but should I do anything else? Never had to do that before. Thanks!

Hello Guys! Last night I added a video surveillance system to my network. The accompanying software made changes to my router setting it up automatically. Since installing the VS system my ISY has been acting a little strange. I can control things with mobilinc at home and away. I can also access the ISY via the IP address then clicking admin console both at home and away (https) but the admin console will not start simply by double clicking on the java application on my desktop. Then I double click it....the small blue window comes up but it's blank. The small blue window used to have the IP address in pink at the top. How can I get it to work again? BTW, the VS system was setup using ports 80, 8000, and 1050. Again the VS software did this automatically. Today I changed 80 to 1025 since my ISY uses 80. This didn't seem to help though. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Great question that I'm interested in too.
