  1. Now this sounds interesting. Since my outlet is very close to the motor I would just wire it to the terminals on the motor. I'm not sure what wiring it to an rf control would do for me other than having to change the batteries very blue moon.
  2. Is there a way to chart the actual temp on a thermostat...not the setpoint. I would like to know how the temp is fluctuating over the past week based on my setpoint programs. Thanks!
  3. Yeah I have the push buttons
  4. Great! This will be a super simple install!
  5. Does the output have to go all the way to the button or can it just go to were the button wires connect to the motor? If so that would be much easier! Thanks!
  6. Can this http://www.smarthome.com/74551/I-O-Linc-INSTEON-Garage-Door-Control-Status-Kit/p.aspx control one garage door or two? It looks like it has 2 sets of magnetic contacts. Also, how do you fasten the contacts to a cement garage floor or do they get fastened somewhere other than the floor? Thanks guys!
  7. I would like to be able to monitor and control my garage door from my ISY (and Mobilinc). What is the best way to do this for 2 garage doors? Thanks!
  8. I used solder. It went to 0 then after a couple days it went to 2%
  9. Mobilinc is changing the state of my devices but when they change, it's not showing up in the admin console. I can't change the state of my devices in the admin console. I'm running version 3.3.1. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the suggestion but it didn't help.
  11. How do I reset the stat?
  12. I soldered my Venstar T1700 per this thread http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3513&start=30 Now the humidity is stuck at 2% on the ISY. Does anyone know a way to get it to read 0%? Thanks!
  13. Ok. Thanks for your help!
  14. In case you are interested, "noise" is not the only issue. There is much discussion about the effect of electronics devices on insteon communication and a great deal of detail that I find interesting, but of limited value from a practical standpoint, given my lack of access to the necessary troubleshooting tools. I generally think of the potential degredation of insteon communication by electronic devices as, generically, "interference". Regardless of whether it is noise or something else, my experience is like that of Brian H...yes, a filterlinc will help. I'm not sure I understand this. If noise is not the only issue, what else could it be?

    Widget Error

I just deleted and recreated on both my phone and my wife's phone. I'll let you know if I have anymore trouble. Thanks!
  16. Would they still generate to much noise if they were added to a filterlinc?
  17. The amps are currently ok. There is an outlet on the other side of the closet wall. I suppose he could add a quad outlet at the same location but facing the inside of the closet. Then I guess I could use an outletlinc as one of the 2 outlets in the quad setup. Then use filterlincs in both of those outlets with my electronics then the PLM could plug into my original outlet.
  18. Thanks for the response! I'm not sure I understand this sentence..."Mount a couple of electrical boxes a board". Did you mean "in a board?" What do you mean by board? With this "In one box, add an outletlinc. In the other, a standard outlet. In the outletlinc, plug in a filter, from which you could run a power strip with all your occasional electronics. In the other outlet, plug a filter, from which you would power your UPS and always-on electronics. Power this from the end of a power cord, plugged into your closet outlet. In the other outlet of your closet, plug your PLM." So in the ouletlinc controllable plug connect the filter then power strip then occasional electronics. Connect nothing to the always on plug in the outletlinc. Then in the standard outlet plug in a filter. Then connect a UPS with the electronics I don't want a power failure to affect into the filter. Leave the 2nd plug in the standard outlet empty. Then plug both of these outlets (with 4 plugs two being empty) into an extension cord which plugs in the original outlet. Then connect the PLM into the other plug of the original outlet? Is that what you mean? Thanks!

    Widget Error

    - Phone is asleep. - Wake phone up - Notice 4 out of 5 wifi bars - Immediately find widget and attempt to activate program "Run If" command - Receive error message. - Repeat command again. - Receive error message. - Go to browser and let webpage fully load - Immediately find widget and attempt to activate program "Run If" command - Receive error message. - Go to browser and let webpage fully load - Then go to a link on that webpage to bring up a website that I've never been to before. - Let the new website fully load - Notice 4 out of 5 wifi bars - Immediately find widget and attempt to activate program "Run If" command - Receive error message. - Go to ISY on laptop and activate "run if" in same program - Verify program "run if" command works when activated from ISY - Immediately find widget and attempt to activate program "Run If" command (note: phone did not go to sleep between last try) - Receive error message. - sync mobilinc with ISY - Immediately find widget and attempt to activate program "Run If" command - Command is successful - attempt to activate program "Run If" command - Command is successful - attempt to activate program "Run If" command - Command is successful Tomorrow when I come home from work I'll see if I can get it to work without syncing with ISY.
  20. How do you have your PLM plugged into an outlet? Is it ok to have something else plugged into the same outlet? I have a closet with lots of electrical TV related components along with my cable modem, wireless router, etc. I only have 1 outlet with 2 plugs in that closet. In the top plug I have a power/surge protector strip and the other I have the PLM by itself. Both in the same outlet. Here is my dilemma.... I would like to replace the outlet with an outletlinc. Then I could plug all my components that do not need to run all day (ie. Amp, Google TV, DVR, etc) into the top plug via a power strip. I could then control the top outlet to minimize electricity. The bottom plug would have a UPS/power strip for everything that needs to run 24/7, ie. cable modem, wifi, ISY, PLM, DirecTV receiver, etc). The problem is I would then have the PLM plugged into a UPS power strip with other electrical devices. Would this be ok? If not, how could I do it such that the PLM would still have good communication with all my Insteon devices? Thanks!
  21. Yeah thats what mine says.... So is it not a responder only?
  22. I'm running 3.2.6 just verified it. I see "responder to" in the middle of you pic. Do you see it?
  23. Under membership the primary stat nodes say "responder to" only. The heat, cool and fan control all say "responder to" and "controller for". Is that correct?
  24. It's not only the selected item that is in italics. Other items go to itlalics depending on what device is selected.
