I can honestly say I probably won’t use most of the extras. I am interested in the longer range and speedboost of the 4500. What would “dual band†do for me? Not sure if I would use that of not. I do use google TV a good bit. Other than that, two laptops, mobile devices, ISY, and house alarm I don’t use it for much more. I do like to sit outside on my dock and have coverage there. Thanks!

Oh ok. I was hoping to put a remotelinc in the bedroom and another mounted on the wall of the garage. Both would control a lamp in the bedroom among other things. When it’s time to go to sleep we can turn off the lamp with the remotelinc in the bedroom. When we get home from a late night we could use the remotelinc to turn on the lamp (for security reasons) before we open the door from the garage to the house. That was my intent. The problem is if the lamp was turned off with the remotelinc in the bedroom then the next day I want to turn it on from the garage, I would actually have to tap the button twice, but of course I wouldn’t know that so it would remain off. This kind of defeats the whole purpose. Am I missing anything here? Are there other ways to do this?

I'm thinking about purchasing this router... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007IL7AKM After reading your recomendations I think this would be a good one. Thoughts? Thanks!

I get the blinking error and memory lights somewhat often. I have contacted UD and one possible solution is my router. I guess the next step is to replace it. I currently have one of these. http://www.amazon.com/Medialink-Wireless-Router-802-11n-Internal/dp/B0044YU60M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346334068&sr=8-1&keywords=medialink It works well as far as I know but the blinking lights are annoying. This HA project has been a serious money pit so far.

How do I link 2 Remotelincs? ie. I want to create a scene for my garage light. The Garge light will be a responder and 2 remotelincs will be the controllers. When I turn one on I want it reflected on the other two devices.

What do you guys use for labels on your remotelinc2's? They grey pant come off very easily and it would be nice if they were labeled to note which device is associated with which button. Thanks!

Hey guys, I keep having router issues. What router do you use...what do you recommend? Thanks!

I wonder why they discontinued a 5 Amp Filterlinc? All they sell is a 10 Amp?
-
I don't see it on the smarthome website...does anyone have a link?
-
The Smarthome model number is 1626

What does it mean when the error light and memory light blink on the ISY? Seems like it blinks about every other time I have to power it up. BTW, I entered the IP and MAC address manually to set the DHCP. I have "IP-MAC Bind" checked. Thanks!

The instructions don't say anything about Insteon just X10. http://www.amazon.com/Smarthome-1626-Filterlinc-Noise-Filter/dp/B0007N7288/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1346268266&sr=8-4&keywords=filterlinc

I just realized the 5 Amp filterlincs I bought are for X10...do they also work with INSTEON?
-
SO it has to be used with scenes? It cant be used with individual devices outside of scenes? Thanks for your help!
-
Thanks! I figured out how to get a scene to respond to the remotelinc but not devices. How do I add devices as responders within ISY such that the state of the device will change within the ISY without having to query?
-
SO I should do a device restore to all 8 devices linked to the remotelinc? Now that the remotelinc is defined in the ISY how do I add responders to the remotelinc via the ISY?
-
lol....no I mean I have 8 devices linked to the remotelinc.
-
Yes 8 of them total
-
The Remotelinc isn't in the Admin Console.....does it need to be linked to the ISY? The instructions do not mention linking to a controller. How is this done?
-
Sorry I wasn't very clear... When I turn a light on via the Remotelinc2 the current state in the admin console doesn't change....it still says off. If I then query that device it changes to the state adjusted by the remotelinc (changes to on). When I run a query the Hops left = 2.
-
It's the ISY. How do I fix the link record problem? I'm not out of range. When I press the remotelinc button the device changes state but not in the admin console unless I query that device. The communication seems to be ok since it says Hops left = 2. Not sure how to fix this. ANy ideas?
-
-So how can I get the ISY to reflect a device state change in the Admin Console when I change the state on the Remotelinc 2? -The paint scraps off very easily. What do you guys use to make labels for the buttons? Thanks!
-
Any ideas? I think all my devices are getting these errors. Some of the devices have been saying 2 Hops left since I put them in....no errors. Now they say Hops left =1 and I'm getting the Process Message Ignored and ACK errors all the time. I have not added any new electronic equipment so not sure what to do. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!!!
-
Also, some of the devices that give me this error are only reading 1 Hops left and those devoces have consistantly given me hope left = 2 for a long time. It's like I lost a hop somewhere.

I have been getting this a lot over the last couple days for several devices that was working great. I'm also getting, "Process Message: Ignored". The devices that give me these messages are both dual band (RF) and non dual band.
