  1. 416to305, Both incandescent and halogen bulbs are based on the concept of two parallel metal wires transmitting an electrical current to a tungsten filament that connects them, heating the filament to a point where its heat is reflected as light. The major difference between an incandescent bulb and a halogen bulb is the gases that each produces within its glass bulb. The purpose of gas production is the same in that it is meant to slow evaporation of the filament and keep it from rusting. Both incandescent and halogen bulbs go dark when the filament wears out and breaks. Incandescent bulbs fill with a mixture of 93 percent argon and seven percent nitrogen, both of which are inert gases. A halogen bulb adds a halogen gas, such as iodine or bromine, creating a chemical reaction that regenerates evaporated tungsten and puts it back on the filament, helping to extend the filament’s life and therefore the life of the light bulb. In theory both should work with the two wire RF only switch, however an led light does not supply enough voltage to the switch to power it.

hart2hart a query will not provide temperature or humidity. the only time temperature and humidity will be updated in the ISY is when one of the values on the thermostat changes. I have several 2441ZTH's, one I use to turn on the bathroom exhaust fan when the humidity exceeds a predefined level, I use another to turn on an exhaust fan in an equipment closet when the temperature exceeds a set level. If you want to force the thermostat to manually update in the ISY blow hot air on it.
  3. Try doing a factory reset on the IOLinc then reinstalling it. Seems everything else is correct.
  4. Techman replied to hart2hart's topic in ISY994
If you have a power supply hooked up the thermostat you should be able to query the device. If it's only battery powered then the query will not work as the device sleeps until either the humidity or temperature changes. However if powered by either battery or power supply the temperature and humidity will not update or populate the ISY until one of the parameters on the thermostat changes
  5. Are you sure that the IOLinc is communicating with the ISY? Do a device query to make sure. Have you set up a program to turn on the light when the sensor is triggered?
  6. Is the light included in any programs or scenes, if so try disabling the program(s) to see if that resolves the issue. What type of device is controlling the light?
  7. I replaced all my ApplianceLincs with the newer dual band on/off modules which are more reliable and I have not had any issues.
  8. The dual band On/Off modules do not have load sensing and will work with the LED lights
  9. Also check your cables to make sure they are properly seated and in the correct ports
  10. I assume the interface is the 1 wire Autelis interface for the ISY. What is the master?
  11. Attached are the ISY error messages
  12. Can you add 50 or 100 feet of cable to the end of the three feet of wire then hook up to the interface? You mentioned that you have numerous sensors, do they all go to one interface?
  13. Teken I was looking at some of the specs for the temperature sensors that Autelis supports and noticed that some are rated to -10C to +85C
  14. Teken I didn't realize that the ISY and Autelis would work at the North Pole. Which 1 wire sensors are you using, I've been looking for one that that supports a long lead.
  15. Teken, Not sure what hardware you're using but are you sure it supports -20C ?
  16. If you're referring to the ISY no longer showing up in the network window it's because UDI disabled UPnP due to security concerns. If you would like the ISY to be visible in your network window then you need to go to Admin Console | Configuration | System | network and check UPnP.
  17. It's a learning process, we've all been there. Glad to hear you got it resolved. I've found that the non-volatile memory in the KPL can sometimes get corrupted. The trusty factory re-set seems to put things back in order.
  18. You may have run out of memory or be using an older version of Excel. I have over 85,000 rows and am able to open the file without an issue. Did you get an Excel error message? You always have the option of clearing your log file via the ISY but of course you'll lose your previous data. Not sure what the delimiter being used is.
  19. calberrt add the switchlinc to the scene as a controller. Everything else looks OK as stuviews suggested you should probably shorten the ramp rate. With a long ramp rate by the time the light comes on you'll forget why your in there.
  20. calbert Attached is a program that I use to set the on level of my bath light based on the time of day. You can also add a ramp rate to the same program. You need to have the switch that controls the light in a scene and have the program adjust the scene. If you turn on the light manually, or turn it on via a program which turns on the scene, it will come on at a level set by the program
  21. You may want to check your electrical connections for the KPL, other than that it sounds like the only option left is to replace it. Keep us posted
  22. How many scenes are involved and exactly what devices are in each scene? On the scene you created with the ToggleLinc and the MBR KPL what device is wired to the light you're trying to control? Both the ToggleLinc and the KPL should be in the scene as controllers. If you're having trouble communicating with the KPL you could have a bad KPL or some other communication issue. You may also want to check your wire connections on the KPL Are the buttons for the MBR KPL configured as "toggle mode"?
  23. smokegrub, Are all the buttons in the "toggle mode"? What devices are in your scene?
  24. Do all 8 LEDS on the family room KPL turn off when you run the scene from the family room KPL or just the A button? What are your settings for the family room KPL "led brightness"? What type of load or device is the family room A button controlling?
  25. The problem is most likely with the KPL not the ISY. I've had this problem in the past and found that a factory reset of the KPL resolved the issue.
