  1. thank you both. Seems like the port on the switch was having some issues, moved the cable from one port to the other, rebooted the ISY and everything is working again.
  2. Hi, Hoping someone can tell me how to fix this. Jeff
  3. is this starting to sound like a device that is failing? If that is the case, what are peoples experience with devices failing. Recently I had a number of lamplinc modules fail (less than a year old), but this would only be the second dimmer to fail in three-four years. That said, I was wondering if that sounds like a normal failure rate with Insteon? Thanks,
  4. Brian H - buy test the load you mean test the electric load - if that is the question I don't think there is any issue as there are 2 other insteon switches right beside the one that is beeping and they have no issues apostolakisl - I've disabled all programs and it still beeps.
  5. All of a sudden the dimmer started to beep and on/off ramping became really, really slow. Only fast on/off worked properly. Tried a reset (pulled out tab on bottom of dimmer, waited 10 sec, pushed and held till beeped) - No Change went in and did a device restore - the dimmer now worked the way it should - BUT - still beeps. Any ideas how I stop the beep? Thank you,
  6. I'll do that next Re unplugging other electronics - I moved the isy and plm to another outlet with no other electronics plugged in. Plug is in a completely different room
  7. Lee Was just doing what Michael k suggested (or at least my understanding of his comments) Anyway, restored a backup and restored devices Several devices got communication errors, so I'm back to the starting point We know the ups isn't an issue, we know moving to another outlet doesn't help...but no other progress Next steps?
  8. tried to delete Modem and here is what I get
  9. that's good info - I'll try an older back up. if that doesn't work could it make sense to remove all and start again?
  10. looks like 26 links - is that supposed to match up to the number of devices? If so it doesn't - I have over 40 devices
  11. Done the palm restore No difference
  12. Unplugged the UPS Moved the PLM and ISY to another room away from any other electronics. No change/improvement When open ISY - I don't get any errors I can turn on/off devices, but it doesn't recognize status of devices (just updates based on on/off directly in the browser) Rules don't work. Hops Left (I think that's the correct term) still low 1 and 0s. Next Step? Add access points? How many - two? Other alternatives?
  13. Lee Been out of town on business Testing this weekend. Will pot result Thank you Jeff
  14. Is this the right product for the filterlinc? http://www.aartech.ca/1626-10-smarthome ... ilter.html and is it okay for this to be plugged into the same plug as the PLM (PLM direct), UPS into the filterlinc Also - if I need an AP - I'm assuming this is the right one - http://www.aartech.ca/2443-smarthome-in ... upler.html How do I determine how many of these are required in the house?
  15. so this may be a silly question. I have 30-40 insteon devices...almost all are dual band (2-3 are single band) - do a need access points. Right now the assumption is that there are enough insteon devices so that isn't required
  16. okay so I'm seeing a number of of insteon devices with Hops Left = 0, the majority of the rest are =1, and only a couple are =2. for the UPS do I need to put a filter on it or can I address the issue by moving the ISY/PLM to another room from where the UPS is? Could that provide at least a test to confirm if the UPS is the problem? Alternative I assume is unplug the UPS and see if that fixes the issue.
  17. lilyoyo Yes there is a UPS nearby. This has always been there from day one - and as mentioned for months everything worked fine. The only option to separating them would be to move the ISY/PLM to a completely different room in the house (its currently in the electric/structured media cabinet room)
  18. Michel, I have a thermostat - but that was added after the problem began. I don't have a dongle for the thermostat however, so not sure how to do what you are suggesting. No baby monitors in the house
  19. Everyone, Thank you for all of your suggestions. The particularly frustrating part of this is that the mesh network was working perfectly for several months and then all of a sudden stopped. Here is where I currently am. The ISY does recognize all the Insteon devices (at least that appears to be the case), however, the rules aren't working (there are one or two that sporadically do work, but the majority are not working). Any other suggestions appreciated.
  20. So I spoke too soon. After moving the PLM to a different plug - it worked for a short time. Then I tried to update a 6 button keypad, and started having the same issues. moved to another outlet...started working....for a short time...and then stopped (all rules stopped working. When I went into the ISY - got a number of errors. Ended up replacing the PLM today, and the 6 button KPL that I thought might be the issue - since every time I made updates to it, I had problems. Well no change. I still have the exact same issue. Right now the ISY is un-usable. Is my only option to rip out every Insteon device and one by one add them in? If so, that is a non-starter as I'm not an electrician and won't be able to do that. I can remove the lamp modules to see if they make a difference. Any other suggestions. I'm regretting going with the Insteon/ISY option right now...but hope that with your help I can get back to the days where this just worked. Thank you for your help
  21. I'd definitely love this to be added to the ISy i994 Would it need an insteon module or would you be adding it to the isy with its current wi-fi configuration?
  22. Finally solved the problem. Moved the PLM to a different outlet and that fixed all my problems. No idea why I all of sudden started having an issue with that outlet...I didn't add anything to that load.
  23. Not yet. I'm hoping I'll get the new PLM by early next week. Sorry to hear your having the same problems - very frustrating
  24. Lee Reset PLM and then restore PLM...no change IndyMike, How do I move the 2413 to the opposite phase? Questions 1) if you are referring to 1d 28 a8 - that is a 2477D 2) yes I did and I got no response from the dual band lamplinc when I queried it.
