  1. It would be nice but probably has limited ROI since one could simply manually factory reset the device and restore it (which should give better results). If a person has to do a full system that way, chances are they have bigger issues and should be seeking direct help from UDI.
  2. You don't have an upgrade option under help like the Isy
  3. Have you tried putty and the information that Bumbershoot provided to see the os that you're on?
  4. Existing setups still work. New setups do not. New setups require the home assistant api
  5. I'm not going to rehash the differences since there are at least 2 dozen posts chronicling the differences over the past year. I've linked the most recent one from last week to help you out.
  6. No there is not. At most you can import other linked devices as you add devices to the Isy. This method would be the fastest in getting devices into the isy. With that said, most who go this route end up with issues as well as spending more time trying to clean things up than they would've had they factory their devices and set them up 1 at a time with s clean install
  7. https://www.universal-devices.com/product/zmatter-z-wave-matter-module-for-polisy-beta/
  8. Looks like the same link used for developers from the Polisy page. Either it wasn't removed by accident or they forgot to embed the link. @Michel Kohanimwould be able to fix it either way
  9. You didn't link to the specific statement so i can't be certain what you're talking about. The only discount I'm aware of that sounds like the statement you made is for developers to help set them up to develop node servers for the isy
  10. It's not a prompt. You have to choose it under the file tab like you do with restore plm
  11. Did you restore PLM AND choose restore devices. Many people skip the last part
  12. Try restore PLM and restore devices. You could also try to update each program. Click on a line, click update, and save
  13. What's happening when you try it? Isy firmware and UI? What does the Isy show when you turn the switch on? Did you set the event viewer to level 3 and see what commands are being sent when turned on? Not all zwave devices are the same. Some can use control as the trigger while others will require status. Depending on what the event viewer returns, it may use hail so you'd need to set that up
  14. Most likely it's a backup/restore situation
  15. As already stated, all of these questions are easily found by reading the latest posts from Michel in addition to the other posts throughout the forums in addition to a quick internet search on Matter so I'm going to skip over them. Someone else can rehash if they choose to. Matter isn't necessarily the future. All systems will still have their pros and cons. Using polisy or eisy, will provide you with the options of using everything. To me, if you currently have polisy; the only reason to choose eisy is because you prefer that over your polisy and costs are irrelevant. Not many (if any) are close to maxing out what their polisy is capable of so having eisy is more of a want than a need. I'm holding out for eisy because I prefer that. Not because I need it but because I want it. I may get the dongle for my test polisy at some point but it's not that big of a deal since matter isn't it to test stuff with yet. I do not need the zwave benefits at this time. For those who do not have polisy- the eisy, would make more sense- especially since it'll be hard to get polisy.
  16. The all on/off does exactly that. It sends a broadcast command of on/off to every zwave device which supports that feature. It is a deprecated feature so many devices do not support it. I don't use the app so i can't help you with those questions. Since I don't use the app, I don't know if the all on/off command would be for any device type that's part of the scene..
  17. Uses zwave associations to set scenes. Google zwave groups/associations for more info. Yes, the new board is capable of ota updates
  18. What specific questions do you have? The webpage you linked to is pretty self explanatory about what it is. Once you receive the unit, you'll get specific instructions on how to hook it up to your Polisy. There are 2 separate boards. An internal and external board. The only board currently is internal which is what you purchased. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/37523-matterz-zmatter/page/4/#comment-347794
  19. It'll be a software update.
  20. Very first post on the channel has information on how to confirm as well
  21. It doesn't make sense for 2 separate boards that accomplish the same thing so I'm inclined to believe it's a single external USB drive for both polisy and wish. This is especially so since the polisy drive works with eisy.
  22. You're welcome. Anytime. Theres an internal and external board for Matter
  23. I'm not sure if the Zooz stick works with eisy so that would be the first/main thing. If it doesn't then it's worthless with eisy. Since other boards besides zooz, do work with polisy there's a chance that it will. Besides the differences that you've stated, you would be limited to what you currently have with zwave. That means no ota updates via the Isy. You could still update your devices; you'd just have to put your zooz stick into your computer and use other software. You will not receive s2 (if that matters). The main benefit of the new board for you would be the ability to use direct associations to create your zwave scenes. Also, Michel has stated, all new features will come to the new board so if you stick with Zooz, you'll be limited to what you do now Eisy is a whole new system that shares the same external adapter as Polisy. Think of it simply as Polisy 2.0
  24. That is correct. I believe he mentioned the external USB drive for polisy will will work with eisy. That way, you can swap it to you eisy should you put purchase it later
  25. You are right. The whole point of automation is to make things simpler. No one ever said it would be easy getting there. Everything that runs well takes putting in work to get there. We all wish things were easier but the nature of automation makes it complicated. It's like building a model car. They have the simple setups for beginners and those who do not want to put much work into it. They can snap a few pieces together and be done. This is basic control systems like hue, Amazon, Google and others like them. They're easy because they're limited. Then you have advanced setups. These require thought, skill, patience, practice, and more. You're responsible for every detail. If you don't plan out what you're doing, you'll have issues. This is automation. The very nature of automation is complex. This isn't limited to the isy. Every single full automation controller has it's complexities. This is why C4, Creston, homeworks, and others require expensive classes and dealers to install them. They know it's beyond most people to program and don't want them in the hands of the avg person to screw them up. If a person doesn't want to do the work involved to learn and set things up- this is the path for them. UDI could provide detailed information about everything that you ask but then you'd have information overload. Look at the isy cookbook. It's close to 700 pages and is still missing a lot of detail. That's not including the wiki which would add even more. Those who take the time to learn about their chosen system generally struggle less with automation systems. Those who jump in without a plan and/or don't take time to learn about what they're using struggle much more. UDI can add all that you ask but at what cost? The more they add, the more they'll need to charge for the Isy (controllers themselves). Programming isn't free. They're balancing costs with features and what people are willing to pay. People complain now about polisy choosing 350 bucks. Can you imagine how many people would use UDI if they charged 600? All for something that provides limited return If a person doesn't take the time (or doesn't want to) to educate themselves, all of that will be for naught. I agree with you in that the hue Node server could provide more (and better) documentation about setting it up and possibly making changes. As i said before it's free. If it were 50-100 bucks, my expectations would've been much greater. In the end, you get what you pay for.
