So far I have 4 leak sensors installed, 5 more to go. I pulled the trigger on the ELK WSV2 today, was waiting for the smarthome valve, but still back-ordered. I have the io linc to control the valve and am testing it with a leak sensor to see the behavior. I created a scene and set the leak sensor wet as a controller and the io linc relay as a responder. When I place the sensor on metal it does tigger on then the io linc will go from Off to On. Ill set the relay On to close the valve and use the 12v output from the valve to give me the status, (copying this set-up: )Should I have a program as a back-up to close the valve. I was thinking of using a double program with a 30 second to 1 minute delay. Just in case a leak sensor in a bathroom accidentally gets wet I can implement a variable or device status to abort the program so the valve does not close. Thought and ideas are welcomed. Thanks in advance and again for the incredible leak sensor programming. Eric

Hello, We leave the chandelier for our stairs on 24/7. I have two scenes, stairs 90% with the switchlinc and a kpl as controllers. There is a stairs 50% scene with the switchlinc and kpl as responders. The light are adjusted by the following programs, 90% at Sunrise + 1 hour: If Time is Sunrise + 1 hour Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 90%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') In case the lights are adjusted during the day, they are set to go to 90% an hour before sunset until 9PM: If From Sunset - 1 hour To 8:59:54PM (same day) Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 90%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Finally, from 9PM until the morning, 50%: If From 9:00:03PM To Sunrise + 59 minutes and 57 seconds (next day) Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 50%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Since the local buttons set the lights to 90%, I have the following program to bring the lights to 50%: If Control 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway KPL8 - A - Hallway / Hallway KPL8 - B - Stairs' is switched Fast On Or Control 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway KPL8 - A - Hallway / Hallway KPL8 - B - Stairs' is switched Fast Off Or Control 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs' is switched Fast On Then Wait 3 seconds Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 50%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Default on level is 90%. Double tap on or off to go to 50%. If the switchlinc or KPL are double tapped on the lights go to 100%, then ramp down to 50%. If the KPL is double tapped off, then the lights turn off, then ramp up to 50%. The kids sleep with their doors open, which is why sometimes I want to get the lights down to 50%, although getting them to bed before 9 is a rarity. Is this the best way to handle things. Should I use an adjust scene instead of separate scenes. Does it make a difference if I combine the first two programs into one. Thanks, Eric

Hi, It looks like in your program that you have Thu twice, one on each side of the or. I would use a scene. Some suggest that if you are doing direct commands like you have it to add a short wait, maybe a few seconds in between each direct command so one command does not block the other.

Hello, This would be a great feature if it was added. Thank you, Eric

Granted, I am an ISY noob, but I have been spending a lot of time reading about the ISY. I have been using Insteon for more than three years and previously had events in Houselinc. Ill show you my program for the night scene, but think about automating some of this. For example, the lights for our steps adjust at different points of the day. I could probably simplify these to two programs, but for right now I like the three separate programs. There are also ways to adjust a scene. I have two scenes, stairs 50%, response is set lights at 50%, and a 90% scene.: After sunrise, lights to 90%: If Time is Sunrise + 1 hour Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 90%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Before sunset to 9pm they go to 90%, in case they were adjusted during the day: If From Sunset - 1 hour To 8:59:54PM (same day) Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 90%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Finally, from 9pm until after sunset, the lights go to 50%: If From 9:00:03PM To Sunrise + 59 minutes and 57 seconds (next day) Then Set Scene 'Hall and Foyer / Hallway Stairs 50%' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') When controlled locally with the switch the response is to go to 90. I set up double tap programs (fast on/off) to go to 50%. We have a night scene, also used in the AM for the great room, kitchen lights and under cabinet lights on. The button is set for non-toggle on so pressing it always turns the scene on. However, if someone turns off the kitchen lights or cabinet lights (first two lines in the parentheses) or turns on any other device in the room then the scene is not really active. I got this program from the link I posted which then turns the kpl off by turning off the Great Room Night KPL scene: If Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Spots KPL (DB) - A Spots / GR Spots KPL (DB) - F Night' is not Off And ( Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Kitchen Lights' is Off Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Sink KPL - A Cabinet' is Off Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Island Lights' is On Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Breakfast Lights (DB)' is not Off Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Pantry Lights' is On Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Cabinets R (DB)' is not Off Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Family Room Lights' is On Or Status 'Great Room / Great Room Devices / GR Spots KPL (DB) - A Spots' is not Off ) Then Wait 4 seconds Set Scene 'Great Room / GR Night KPL' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Hopefully some others will chime in with additional options for you. Eric

If the button is set to non toggle on then it will always be lit after being pressed. You probably will want a way to turn it off. Here is a good tutorial for a program that tracks a scene and turns on or off a Kpl button if the scene is active or not. http://www.adamsj.com/isy/basementA.htm Since you cannot send a direct command to a button to turn it on or off you have to create a scene and add the Kpl button as a responder. Then you turn the scene on or off to get the button to turn on or off.

KMan, I just want to get a list of device types, names, and addresses for inventory purposes. This way I know exactly what is in the house. I figured out the group feature, just do it from the B button down so it leaves the A in the list. Eric

Here is where I am with this. I have my sockit box ready (see the pic below) and did a test run and it seemed to work well. I need to just get a final position on the float switch. Power will come in via the yellow extension cord ( I ordered a new one since this one is 12G I think and not flexible). An io linc is plugged in and connected to a float switch. It is three wire so I have it set for the sensor to turn on if the float goes down, meaning water is low. An appliance linc is also connected and the pump motor will be plugged into a short gfi extension cord then the appliance linc. The pump does not have a switch and could not find a suitable inline switch on an outdoor extension cord so I have this for my wife or workmen to just turn the pump off durning maintenance. Obviously she could just turn off the appliance linc. The outdoor outlet is controlled with a switchlinc already in case someone turns it off, my wife get a text/email at night to turn it back on. Now I think I can condense these programs a bit, but right now that is not my goal.I just want to have programs that work. I have to add an extension to the float switch cable and the pond needs some work after the freeze (ie a bunch of cash) so I can't place the hardware in just yet. Here are the programs: Koi pond water level is low, alert is sent and appliance linc is turned off, turning off the pump. If there is a leak from the pump/filter system we want the pump off.: If Status 'Outside / Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is On Then Wait 3 minutes Set 'Outside / Appliance Linc' Off Send Notification to 'Robin text' content 'Koi Pond Water is Low' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') io linc sensor is on when the float switch is down (NC-closed). Will send alert that the water level is low. If the water level is low a kpl lights up on her side of the bathroom controlled by a scene. I am thinking of adding a beep to Her KPL. If Status 'Outside / Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is On Then Wait 5 minutes and 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Wait 5 seconds Set 'Master Bathroom / Master Bath Devices / Bath Hers KPL - A Shower Ligh' 5 (Beep Duration) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If the io linc sensor is on then water level is low, Her KPL will beep. Next, koi pond level is ok, appliance link is turned back on, alert sent. I am debating n having the pump turn back on automatically.: If Status 'Outside / Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is Off Then Wait 30 seconds Send Notification to 'Robin text' content 'Koi Pond Water level is OK' Wait 3 minutes Set 'Outside / Appliance Linc' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Alert to let you know the sensor is now off, water level ok. Finally, a couple of programs to let me know that the equipment is working. I think I need to add a condition and status koi switchlinc is on. If someone turns it off then the devices will not respond. If Time is 2:00:00PM And Status 'Outside / Appliance Linc' is not Responding Then Wait 20 minutes Send Notification to 'Eric text' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') If Time is 2:00:10PM And Status 'Outside / Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is not Responding Then Wait 20 minutes Send Notification to 'Eric text' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Here is the excel sheet for my GET, only first device listed. I can't figure out how to group this into one line if possible. I also just realized that it did not pull the entire device ID 15.07.03. Actually will not allow me to attach and xls file. Here is a pic of what I would have posted. Eric

Michel, Sorry I missed your reply this weekend. I do have other all off buttons that work fine on other KPLs. I think I may have one brand new 8 button for back-up but not sure, it may be an single band 6 button. If I have it Ill try to manually set it to non-toggle off with my bench set up to see how it behaves. Then Ill add it to the ISY. If I don't have a new one, is there another way to trouble shoot it by checking events. I could reset and restore if needed. Thanks, Eric

Thank you thank you. I have been searching the forum and could not find the thread with the link. Eric

Hi, I read in a post about logging into the isy via up without the logo but cannot find the thread. I thought I had bookmarked it. Something like ip.empty Anyone know they correct address Thanks, Eric

I was able to get excel to GET all of the data from rest/nodes/devices into a spreadsheet. This is helpful. I can easily delete columns that are not needed. I think there is a way to group the data to collapse kpls into one line, but I have not figured that out yet. E

I have this same issue with an all off button on a brand new KPL, 8 button 2334, v.43. The button does send the off command but stays lit. I had to set up a program to turn off the button. E
-
Maybe, but I dont know how to set up a GET, never had to. You can pull from rest/nodes/devices, but it looks like it would still include each kpl button separately. I just took a look at excel and can pull the html info, but could not figure out how to just pull the device name, id. Eric

Tim, Thanks for the info. I was just going to reset the less bright device to bring it back to full brightness, but I'll try the manual adjustment instead. TJF seems like TFitz, correct? Eric
-
Lee, I do not remember the exact wording, but that one link came up as different. Do I need to reset and then restore? Thanks for your help. Eric
-
Larry, do you even have the isy yet. Yes those are not dimmable devices, but the brightness of the LEDs is adjustable. I am not referring to the load. When they are added to the isy the brightness of the less is full on despite showing zero brightness. When is set the brightness level the same for both switches they are not the same brightness. E
-
I just installed two switchlinc side by side, 2477S v.43 and a 2476S v.3a. The brightness of the LEDs appeared the same, but too bright. Both showed initial brightness of "0". I set the brightness to the same number for both, but the newer device is much brighter. Even when I set the 2476 to 255 brightness it is not close to as bright as it was before adjusting it at all, and a little too dim. Any way to get the older device brighter. Thanks, Eric
-
Thanks Lee. I really do not want to have to reset the KPL with the deleted link. I would be a lot of work to re-add all of the buttons to all of my scenes. I am in no hurry to add this KPL back into service but do have some ideas as to where I might put it. We hardly ever use the front door, but that is a likely location. Eric

My wife has a koi pond that I try not to go near. Unfortunately, I only have to get involved when there is a problem (dead fish, water leak, huge bill, etc). I am trying to use my new ISY to monitor the pond. I have the outlet for the pump now controlled by a switchlinc, so if someone turns it off a text is sent to my wife at night so she can turn it back on. I finally picked up a 3 wire float switch to go with an io linc to help monitor the water level. I have it set it for NC, so if the water is low the float is down, the switch closes and the sensor turns on. Here is my program for that situation, notify my wife and turn off the pump. I may add a wait just in case someone is messing with the pond and hits the float.: If Status 'Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is On Then Set 'Outside / Koi Pump Switch' Off Send Notification to 'Robin text' content 'Koi Pond Water is Low' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I also want to monitor the io linc to make sure it is working. What will a program like this do. How often does the if run. Do I need to set a schedule for the if. The circuit is on a backup generator so if we lose power, this should not be off for more than a minute. The io linc will be plugged into the same outlet as the pump, controlled by the switchlinc. If Status 'Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is not Responding Then Wait 20 minutes Send Notification to 'Eric text' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') I am considering setting up program for a KPl button on my wifes bathroom kpl, maybe sensor is off (float up, water level up), kpl led is on. If Status 'Koi Pond io linc-Sensor' is Off Then Set Scene 'Master Bathroom / Bath Her KPL G' On Else Set Scene 'Master Bathroom / Bath Her KPL G' Off After using the great leak sensor programs I realize I need something more elaborate for the kpl. Maybe a schedule to turn of the kpl scene and run the program a couple of times each day. I have read a lot about variables so I am open to using one, with help, if needed. Thanks. Eric

Lee, I am having trouble posting the table. I cannot copy all of it. When I save the XML file is there a way to open it as the table rather than the XML format. Thanks, Eric

I restored the responder device and checked the links table again. There on line 121 is the ID for the old KPL. I did not look down the list that far last night. 121 : 0C30 : 62 08 1B.55.1D 01 00 08 I enabled the old KPL in the ISY and the F button no longer controls the cabinet lights. Looks like the problem is resolved, although I still don't think the old KPL ID should appear in the table. Thanks, Eric
