All went smoothly.

I have a PLM A that has been rebuilt using the capacitors recommended at this forum. I want to factory reset it. It was originally used at location A with ISY A. If I factory reset it at this location B which has its own ISY B and PLM B do I run any risks of corrupting the ISY B or PLM B?

Spot on, Andy.

I have done that. Thanks.

Reporting is controlled by a program that is enabled 5 minutes after a KPL button is pressed allowing us to leave the house w/o triggering a notification. We use MobiLinc to turn off reporting remotely if need be. Thus we only get notifications when we want them.

I have 4 hidden door sensors and 1 triggerlinc to monitor our doors. Each device has these 2 programs: If open, notify with custom message identifying the door If low battery, notify with custom message identifying the door This a total of 10 programs. Is there a way to program this setup to reduce the number of programs. I am assuming there might be a way with variables, but I have never used this asset and don’t know where to begin. I have the same situation with 9 leak sensors so this is an area ripe for improvement, if possible.

After doing the same thing several times, I removed the battery and reinserted it. It linked. Go figure! Thanks for the feedback.

I have tried linking using both the Quick Start Guide and the standard approach for the ISY. Neither works. Using the Guide a tap of the sensor’s set button produces neither a flash of the sensor LED nor a flash of the LED of a dual-band device only inches from the sensor. Using the standard approach for the ISY and holding the set button for several seconds never produces a flash of the sensor LED. In other words, I can never get into linking mode using either approach. I have removed and replaced the battery 3 times. I am using Link Management-New INSTEON/A10/X10 Device-Device Type 2843-222 ISY: 994/IR PRO Firmware and UI - 4.3.26 Any suggestions?

There is perhaps a better solution, but I power my cameras with Insteon devices which I control using my ISY and MobiLinc. I simply power down my cameras when arriving and up when leaving. Of course, geofencing would be readily available using than approach.

Teken: Appears to be a very powerful tool but all I am looking for is something to tell me if even a small amount of water is coming in through the municipal plumbing during those hours when it should not be. I don't care about the quantity. This will let me know if there is a leak in an unmonitored location or an outside hose bibb has been left on.

Following up on the above. I must note, however, that I have changed nothing in this setup since last fall. In the interim, notifications sent have been accurate and timely until a couple of weeks ago.

I apologize for leaving you with that impression. Thank you for the feedback. I am researching what you and Teken suggested.

At my home away from home I have Hidden Door Sensors on both entry doors, one on an outbuilding and an Open/Close Sensor on the door of another outbuilding. Recently, I hot a notification from one of the doors had been opened. I used cameras inside the home followed by a site visit to verify that no one had entered. This morning I got two such notices from that same sensor--both were false. A check of the Summary tab showed that the notification program had not run! Weird! Any ideas?

Larry, my home away from home has a whole house pump. There I use a SynchroLinc to trigger a message to me when the pump turns on and when it turns off. The SynchroLinc is attached to an ON/OFF Switch. This allows me to ID problems when I am away and turn the pump off if need be. However, at my home I am dealing with a municipal water source. If I had a device that would ID flow in the supply line when we are away I could use an inline valve to control the supply until I could get there. One would think this would be a great business opportunity for someone to develop such a product.

I have several Insteon leak detectors strewn around the house at high risk locations. Recently a leak was detected in the laundry room and considerable damage avoided. This strategy does not, however, address the issue of leaks and unexpected water usage from such things as a faucet left partially open, a toilet failing to properly close following a flush, external hose bibbs left on or leaking, etc. A tool that would allow you to know if flow is occurring in incoming plumbing (quantity unimportant) and with the ability to send alarms/email and controlled by the ISY would be extremely useful. For example, when away from home and at night the alarm features would be especially useful. Thoughts?

According to a prior post, that's an error message telling you it did not receive a signal confirmation from one of the linked responders to the scene.

I will wait and bit and see what happens with the successful reboot. If the problem reoccurs I will focus on the SD card. Thanks.

Last night my programs stopped running. The PLM had a green light. The ISY had the solid blue light but the Memory Light was flashing every few seconds. I unplugged/rebooted the ISY and all is once again well. My question is, what could possibly have caused that condition? Thoughts?

Good news, problem solved. I cleared the JAVA cache again, double-clicked the admin.jnlp icon and the correct icon appeared on the desktop. Problems like this stress me out. You take all the correct steps and the process fails. After hours chasing your tail you repeat the identical process and it works. Sorry to have bothered you.

Thanks, but didn't work. I think I will submit a ticket on this. I am just spinning my wheels. My underlying concern is the problem I had which preceded this and which I described earlier.

I had a problem where the ISY at home had firmware and UI of 4.3.26. However, my remotely located ISY had firmware of 4.2.30 and UI of 4.3.26. Don't have a clue how that happened. Nevertheless, I accessed the remote ISY and downloaded the firmware of 4.3.26. Now, both ISYs have the same firmware and UI. Later, when I tried to download the Admin Console Icon to my desktop I get the icon with a coffee cup and admin.jnlp beneath it but not the traditional icon. The icon that displays is fully functional but just not the traditional icon. Anyone know what is going on?

I very much appreciate the feedback. While Ruckus may be a superior product and especially where off-site management is a concern, its price point appears to be about $400 versus $80 for the Ubiquiti. My friend is using the latter in a corporate setting and has nothing but praise for the product. So, given that the Ubiquiti appears to play well with the Mac and has no apparent issues with ISY it seems to be the best choice for me.
