The address on the web page, when used to add in the Launcher does nothing.

The eero base station is wired directly to the router. As to lsndolfi's suggestion, I have been trying all morning to determine how to get the https of my isy.

Start jnlp is now no longer working.

I have two ISYs. One is local and the other remote. The local is connected by a new eero 6+ mesh router. The remote router (old airport extreme) is displayed properly. The ISY on the eero router has disappeared and the message "loX Finder: Not Found" exists. Apparently something happened with the new router. An examination of the devices connected to the eero router shows "ISY994-EMS" as a wired connection. I have rebooted the ISY and my Mac and the problem remains. Any helpwill be appreciated.

I am away from my primary residence. Will be returning home in a week and will study the info you graciously provided. Then, when I return to the vacation home in about 3 weeks I will see if I can get the update done.

Weird, but I decided to try a backup and it worked! Next step. how do I upgrade from 4.9 firmware to the most recenn\t version? My desire is to be able to use UD Mobile.
-
One of the concerns I have is that UDI has apparently indicated no support for the ISY going forward. Is that true? Is that not sufficient reason to make the change? I have no trouble coding programs, adding devices, etc. It is networking issues and hardware maintenance issues such as replacing a memory chip that exceeds my skills. Historically. UDI has been outstanding in helping with such issues.

I appreciate the feedback. mIt has caused me to continue to reflect on my situation. I have several older backups of the problematic ISY that have not changed in a long time. So they should help with any transition. So, my ISYs are old, and I am not capable of assessing or doing maintenance. So, I think I will upgrade both ISYs to EISYs. I can envision a couple of node servers being helpful. I hope I can count on you and UDI to help me with the setup. Any thoughts?

I forgot to add, the backup breaks at 70% each time.

i have two ISYs. The vacation home ISY has worked perfectly until my ISP changed from Suddenlink to Optimum. After they did this I began attempts to do an ISY backup in preparation to upgrade from 4.9.0. When I tried to backup it would get to about 70% and it would fail with the message could not retrieve File .Conf/109 PRP. Now, I am at the vacation home and the ISY will not backup—same results. I can see both ISYs in the Portal but the vacation home ISY will not backup.. When I open with the Launcher the Vacation home ISY displays but the ISY at the other residence does not! To top things off, my wife and I just got Covid and at age 78 I am not at my former skill level. I have rebooted the ISY and I have unplugged and replugged the PLM. The PLM has a sold green light. The ISY has a single solid blue light on the far left. I can control the vacation home devices though the Portal and MobiLinc. I don’t see the vacation ISY’s IP in the router (Apple Extreme). At least I don’t recognize one. It appears the ISY is identified by its MAC Address in setup. How can I determine its IP so I can see if its address is in the router? If its not there, how do I get it there? My gut feeling is that the ISY is not in the router. Sorry for the serious paucity of technical skills. Any help will be appreciated. All my devices are Insteon. I am running Ventura on a MacBook Pro. I am ready to upgrade the ISY technology if that is my problem.

I have the same pending issue except mine is further complicated with two ISY's at separate locations, both of which continue to function perfectly with all Insteon systems and 4.9. My systems are on the same Portal. One is at my primary residence; the other is located 325 miles from the primary residence. I envision no new devices other than Insteon. I have enough devices in reserve to last a long time. Past experience reminds me that this arrangement creates unique requirements when upgrading. The cost of the upgrade is inconsequential, but the technical challenges are surely going to be insignificant. Do I even need to do anything at this time? If I do, I am going to need substantial "hand-holding". I will soon be 78 years young and my old brain is slowing.

FYI everything is accessible through the Portal. Just not thro9ugh the Launcher.
-
The Launcher opens but no data are displayed for either of two ISYs. Thoughts?

Mine is down also.

Same here.

If anyone is looking for an ironclad longterm solution, forget it. What you invest in today may soon be obsolete. As for me, I will stick with my Insteon system until the final door closes. I also have several backup devices including a couple of PLMs so I should be good to go for a while.

I feel I may not have represented my point well. Doubling technologies at the very least doubles complexity to the user.
-
A thought. Incorporating different technologies invariably increases the complexity of the system. As for me, I hope Insteon not only returns but adds offerings, such as solid door locks and PLM. I want 6 door locks. ZWave is a solid option but it requires a mesh network of ZWave devices for communication. My ISY network exists, its rock solid and handles communications at least 50 feet distant from the other Insteon devices. Bring it on, Smarthome!

Thanks sir, will do.

Thanks, I thought the answer was no as well but I wanted to first check with those more knowledgeable than me.

I have a home located remotely from my primary residence. The CAO warning of consequences for low CAO tag batteries has caused me concern. I will not return to the remote residence for 8 months because of health (surgery) and weather. The tags are used to monitor motion and temperature at entries. Insteon Hidden Door Sensors also monitor entries. Ideally, I would like to monitor the the entries with the Hidden Door Sensors until their batteries fail then use the tags. Can the tags be set for a minimal battery requirement (a sort of standby mode) and then remotely be brought to full motion monitoring status? The objective being being able to monitor entries for 8 months.

I agree. Take a look at what PLMs are selling for on EBAY. Not all of us are in search of the "latest and greatest". I have two homes with all Insteon devices, two ISYs and Alexa. All work extremely well and meet my needs. Going forward I need PLMs when and if one breaks, and I need the rare replacement Insteon device (I have quite a few backups). I see no reason to consider abandoning my setup. If someone at Insteon is looking, I am ready to purchase seven door locks if reliable Insteon products are developed.

A CAO Tag might possibly be used in this application. Set the tag in the vent to measure temperature with a range that covers maximum weather events. Have the tag notify when the max temperature is exceeded. The tag will then also notify when it returns to normal range. Some tweaking of the range should minimize the time it would take for the tag temperature to reduce. I use a Synchrolinc to tell me when a well pump turns on or off. Who knows, Insteon may bring that device back but I doubt it.

I am, at best, on the margin of this thread which has devolved into a discussion of what appears to be primarily installer-related concerns regarding the future of technology. That's great, but please permit me to share my interests and concerns as they relate to my use of Insteon technology. I have two homes with all Insteon and UDI (ISY) technology. With the help of UDI and many kind folks at this board I have installed and maintained these systems. They are dependable, fast and economical. Despite the fact that the homes are separated by hundreds of miles they have worked astoundingly well. for more that 10 years. I have have had one PLM and two other Insteon devices fail. One of the two devices was replaced by Smarthome under warranty. I suspect I may be in the minority, but I want the Insteon product line and technology to succeed and to be supported by UDI. In fact, I would like to see some new Insteon products such as dependable door locks. I have not used other technology for my doors because they are notorious for needing mesh technology. I have two situations where my Insteon devices dependably communicate up to distances of 30 yards! This includes leak detectors of which two have identified leaks and saved used us hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. A blend of Wyze cameras, Insteon motion detectors, hidden door sensors and Alexa have added to our ability to monitor our homes and optimally use the Insteon devices. Simple programs and routines have improved our lives as we approach 80 years of age. I am "holding my breath" that the new owners of the Insteon product line will be successful and that they will work proactively with UDI to get even better. In the meantime, I encourage you to continue the march forward to new, improved technology.
